Chapter 221: Chapter 221: A Crazy Woman
Asa Mitaka’s eyes flew open, widening in horror.
I’m screwed.
She hurriedly scrambled to her feet, but at that very moment, she watched the Stone Sword crash into the Bread Devil. The instant it struck, the Bread Devil was sliced into loaf after loaf of bread.
Asa stared blankly.
That actually worked?
Kotone Asaba and Makima showed no reaction whatsoever.
Yoru, meanwhile, quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Asa had managed to kill the Bread Devil through sheer dumb luck. Otherwise, they would have had no choice but to wait for Chainsaw Man to save them.
After all, Yoru had only just discovered a serious problem. Whenever Asa became utterly terrified, she was unable to take control of her body.
"Clap, clap, clap."
Kotone applauded. "Excellent. The Devil has been successfully hunted. Let’s head home for now. We can hand the Devil’s corpse over to the Devil Hunter Club tomorrow."
He stored the Bread Devil’s corpse inside the Kamui dimension, but he had no intention of returning to Fourth East High School and delivering it to the Devil Hunter Club right away.
He had killed the Devil far too quickly. The speed was completely beyond anything an ordinary person could comprehend, so it would inevitably arouse the club’s suspicions. They might even suspect that he had cheated somehow.
To avoid that unnecessary trouble, he planned to wait until tomorrow before bringing them the corpse.
The next afternoon, after classes ended, Kotone took Makima and Asa to the Devil Hunter Club.
However, once they arrived, they encountered the Famine Devil again.
"Do we just hand the Devil’s corpse directly to you?" Kotone asked, looking at Fami.
"Of course. I could hardly neglect the club entrance tests of my two younger sisters," Fami replied.
Kotone fell silent.
She really did not guard herself around him at all. She casually said anything she pleased right in front of him.
Perhaps she understood that hiding things from him would be pointless, so she barely bothered trying.
She openly referred to Asa and Makima as her younger sisters, and the last time they met, she had even mentioned "Control" and "War" directly in front of him.
Still, that worked to Kotone’s advantage. It gave him the perfect opportunity to steer the conversation in that direction.
"Last time, you mentioned Control and War. Now you’re calling them your younger sisters. Does that mean you’re their older sister, either Famine or Death?"
"Oh. Did I forget to introduce myself?" Fami said emotionlessly. "Just as you said, I am the older sister of the Control Devil and the War Devil, the Famine Devil."
"Are you seriously fine with revealing your identity that casually?" Kotone could not help asking.
"Why wouldn’t I be? Nothing will happen even if people find out," Fami replied indifferently.
"She’s another one of the Four Horsewomen? Why are all of them at our school?" Asa privately asked Yoru.
"Who knows? Either way, she’s insane. Don’t let your guard down around her," Yoru warned.
Yoru clearly held a considerable amount of resentment toward Fami as well, though not quite as much as she did toward Makima.
