Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Hell on Earth (EC)

"Boom!"

Reze reacted quickly, but she was still far too slow. By the time she transformed into the Bomb Hybrid, the mysterious woman was already standing directly in front of Kotone Asaba.

In contrast, neither Makima nor Fami showed any emotional reaction to the mysterious woman’s sudden appearance.

The Four Horsemen could sense one another, so they had already felt the Death Devil’s arrival. This mysterious woman was none other than the Death Devil herself.

"Don’t."

That meant only one of the Four Horsemen remained, the Death Devil.

In other words, the mysterious woman before them was the Death Devil.

Kotone stared at the mysterious woman with his senses stretched to their limits. At the same time, he caught enough of Makima and the others’ conversation to confirm the woman’s identity.

"You’re the Death Devil, right? What do you want with me?" Kotone asked directly.

He was currently in a phased state, so he wasn’t particularly worried about her suddenly attacking him.

Besides, for now, she didn’t seem interested in fighting.

What did make him curious was the fact that the Death Devil seemed to know who he was.

Perhaps she had informants in the human world. Of course, it was also possible that the sisters simply shared information with one another.

"Nothing in particular. I just wanted to see what kind of human has gotten so close to my younger sisters..."

The Death Devil spoke in a playful tone, her deep eyes fixed intently on Kotone.

All across the streets below, countless Devils of every imaginable shape suddenly appeared from thin air. Almost none of them were familiar, and unless there was some other explanation, they were probably the Death Devil’s followers.

Devils filled the sky and the ground alike, slaughtering humans without restraint. The entire city had become hell on earth.

There were far too many Devils for Kotone to deal with by himself.

Fortunately, Makima had already begun acting.

One Devil after another fell under her control and turned on the others, tearing into their own kind. For the moment, those Devils no longer had the freedom to chase after the fleeing humans.

Fami finally stopped standing by as well.

With one hand, she removed her school cap.

In her other hand appeared a miniature figurine of the Falling Devil.

"I can’t exactly let you have your way, sis."
