Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 396 - 394:'… Finally.'Chapter 396: Chapter 394:“... Finally.”
It had already been over 3 months since the students had gone into the Abyss for their ascension exams.
The world had already resumed its normal course.
As for the academy, they weren’t too bothered. They knew exactly what type of challenge the Abyss would pose, so the moment the students went in, they had departed. Should anyone make it out, then word would reach the appropriate people fast enough.
It was with that thought that the world moved on, finally peaceful after a white-haired menace had been taken out of the picture momentarily...
...
...
In a distant forest not too far away from the hillside golden mansion,
two women and a little boy could be seen taking a walk. A few baskets were in the hands of the women as the boy curiously ran around, picking up whatever he found interesting, his bright purple eyes shining in innocent curiosity and excitement as he ran back to the women.
"Big sister! Big sister! Look what Lucien found!!" He brought the item in his hands up to the eyes of one of the two women, who picked him up gently.
"Alright, little Lucien, let big sister see what you found." The woman, Melissa, smiled as she ruffled Lucien’s purple hair fondly.
"Hehehehe..." Chuckling cutely, he brought the rock closer.
It was, like every other piece of debris in this damned forest, gold.
"Ahh.. what a wonderful find. Our Lucien is sure to be a valiant explorer in the future, your techniques are impeccable. Hmm... hmm.." Melissa praised shamelessly as she smushed her cheeks with the giggling child’s.
"Umm... Mel.. Melissa... don’t you think you’ve been spoiling Lucien too much?" The other woman, with purple hair, soft purple horns, and a seductive body that her baggy dress was trying so hard and still failing to hide, asked.
"What? Of course not!! I’m just delivering the right amount of affection. Hmm.. hmm..."
Melissa, Cara, Hope, and Lucien were supposed to return to the academy over two weeks ago, but after hearing that Dante was yet to exit the Abyss, she lost any interest in going back. Not just her, the other girls, too, had lost any interest in returning to the academy since the white-haired menace wasn’t around.
So, Melissa stuck around at the hillside mansion, delving back into the relaxation activity she and her mother had once engaged in while she was young, picking out flowers and fruits. And with the enormous garden, an almost semi-forest, that the hillside mansion had, it had been an utterly relaxing experience. Not just for Melissa, but for Hope as well.
The demoness seemed to finally be regaining a bit of herself as she was now more outspoken and lively.
Contrary to what the others feared, Raven had taken an instant liking to the demoness the moment she saw her, making it her mission to ensure that the young girl didn’t live in her traumatized state of mind.
And she had largely succeeded, as the demon was now, at least when around Raven and Melissa, smiling and giggling just like any young woman, and that had done wonders for her beauty.
She was practically glowing.
But, like always, all good things must come to an end...
"Haaa..." Melissa sighed.
"It’s starting to get embarrassing, you know?" She suddenly spoke up, turning toward the shadows by her right.
"I’m starting to get sick of all this tailing you people think you’re doing. You’re just embarrassing yourselves, honestly."
...
...
Her words were met with silence. Not even a rustle.
"Haa.. I can’t go on pretending you guys don’t exist anymore. You’re starting to get annoying.." Pointing a finger at an empty space beside her,
FWOOSH!
A flame ignited at the tip of her finger, the air around the finger combusting spontaneously as she shot the flame forward..
BOOOOMMMM!!!
The place exploded as a figure was sent flying backward.
BANG!!!
Before the figure could react,
BOOOM!!
Its head exploded as a flame spear pierced clean through it, taking both the tree and the head.
A suffocating silence fell over the place as Melissa’s voice came out once more, this time colder, "Do not make me repeat myself, mongrels.." There was no doubting she was her mother’s daughter.
"Calm your anger, Princess. We mean you no harm..." An aged voice finally broke the silence as space shimmered and multiple figures dressed in black appeared around the group.
"The king’s shadows. Of course it’ll be my own snake family that’s targeting me." Melissa sneered, unimpressed.
"Princess, you impress me. To think you could have picked out our location this fast."
"Fast? I noticed you fools the moment you started following me from when I left the academy. Heh. I guess you’re only being brave now because Mother isn’t around, right?" Her words made the faces of the people turn ugly.
"Your words are harsh, Princess. And we mean you no harm. The patriarch merely longs for your return, it has been a long time since he last saw his niece," the leading figure, a white-haired man, answered back.
"No harm? And he sends the entire Power Rangers after me?"
"Power Rangers?" Hope asked, confused.
"I have no idea what it means. I just heard Dante mention it once before, it just popped into my head." Melissa shrugged.
"Anyways, as I was saying, old man, You can tell that limp-dicked snake uncle of mine that I’m not interested in seeing his bitch-ass face, and he should stick with sleeping with people’s wives who only know how to fake moans just to satisfy his insecure and dickless self." Melissa ranted on. "Fuck! That bastard is rubbing off on me too much..."
"Uhh... Melissa, when you say it like that, it can be very misleading.." Hope reasoned awkwardly.
"Heh! Don’t worry. He’ll never rub me wrongly when it comes to that, he’s too good..." Melissa winked suggestively.
"Haa.. you’re being influenced by Cara, too." Hope sighed, tired.
"If you can’t beat them, join them."
Melissa and Hope continued their very suggestive conversation while ignoring the group that had appeared.
"Ahem.." The leading man coughed lightly, getting their attention.
"You bitches are still here?" Melissa growled.
"Princess, I’m afraid you’ll have to come with us."
"I already said no!" The atmosphere had already begun heating up at her words.
"I’m sorry, Princess, but..." Giving a hand signal, a woman behind the man stepped forward, opening a box and then...
WENG!!!
A subtle wave spread out through the air...
"Hmmm?"
"Forgive me, Princess, but I’ll have to take you back, even if I have to do so by force." The man spoke up and then....
BOOOOM!!!!
Let his aura out.
Law Integration.
"Heh! Old man, if you think you can intimidate me, then..."
FWOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHH
A burning-hot pillar of flames erupted into the sky. The crimson-gold flames burned so thoroughly that the air parched up instantly.
"What??" The man’s eyes widened when he felt his own aura igniting.
"Impossible!!!"
"That’s a word I realize my love treats with too much casualty." Melissa chuckled as she felt the new effects of her flames.
The nature of her flames had changed a while ago, after her numerous activities with Dante. She hadn’t even told the bastard yet, as this would be the first time she was actually using it.
BOOOM!!!
Not giving the man any time to react, she conjured a massive torrent of flames and sent them crashing toward the group.
"Attack!!!" The man roared as multiple auras exploded out of the group.
CRASSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!
The moment they came into contact with the torrent of crimson-gold flames...
PSSSSSSS!!!!
They were ignited and turned to ash.
"WHAT!??" Before the group could get over their shock...
BOOOOOMMMMM!!!!
The flames struck unobstructed and then...
"AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
"IT BURNS!! IT BURNS!!!!"
Horrible shrieks of pain and suffering burst out as the entire group of shadows was turned into a burnt crisp.
"Ho.. how?" The old man’s eyes trembled violently as he saw his entire squad reduced to ashes in mere seconds.
"Wonderful!! I should reward D for this when he gets back, hehehehe..." Melissa laughed, eyes sparkling as she beheld her beautiful flames.
"But first, let’s take you out—"
Clap. Clap. Clap.
A slow round of applause stopped her cold before she could make another move.
"As expected of Ravena’s daughter. Truly, like mother, like daughter." A sleazy and arrogant voice sounded from behind her.
Swiveling around, Melissa found a man in a dark suit behind her. His hand was wrapped threateningly around Hope’s neck, with Lucien having been knocked out cold on the floor.
"Damien..." she growled...
"That’s UNCLE Damien, you brat." The man grinned.
"Let them go..." Flames began licking at her hands...
"Tut. Tut. Tut."
"Ugh..." Hope’s painful groan stopped Melissa’s rampage.
"That’s it. Just like that..."
"Let them go, you bastard."
"Worry not. They’re not my target. Come peacefully and this little demon gets set free."
Melissa looked at Hope. The demoness shook her head slowly, only for Damien to tighten his grip...
"Ughh..."
"Let. Her. Go."
"You know the drill."
Melissa remained silent for a few moments before finally...
"Fine..." She placed her hands behind her.
"You. Do it." Motioning to the old man from before, Damien ordered him on.
The man moved and then...
CLICK!
Placed some cuffs on Melissa’s wrists as her aura dropped.
"Now release them."
"Fear not. I’m a man of my word." Damien released his grip on Hope as he approached Melissa, a twisted grin on his face.
"There’s my beautiful niece..."
"If you touch me with your filthy hands, you will die a brutally painful death."
Damien’s hand froze just an inch from her face. A cold chill had shot up his spine the moment he heard her threats, so...
"Heh! Bold words from a captive." The man sneered, pulling his hand back.
"Melissa!!" Hope called out.
Looking over, Melissa smiled beautifully.
"Tell that bastard not to waste any time. I’ll be waiting for him." With those words, she turned as she left with Damien and the old man, a portal appearing before them as they vanished through it.
"MELISSA!!!!!!" Hope called out in anguish as she clutched onto Lucien dearly, tears running down her face.
"Useless! Useless!! Useless!!!" She cursed herself over and over again as she collapsed to her knees in tears.
...
...
"Valen... that’s my daughter you’re involving in this mess."
On a hill a distance away from where Melissa had been captured, Raven watched on in silence as her fist clenched tight.
"I know," Valen replied succinctly.
"If anything were to happen to her..."
"Worry not, Ravena. If anything happens to Melissa, Dante, that boy, will kill me long before you can even do anything," Caleb replied indifferently.
"It’s good that you know." Giving her reply, Raven turned around, taking a few steps before her figure disappeared.
Silence reigned as Valen’s eyes fell upon the crying demoness...
"Finally. Regulus, it’s time to purge this world of the rot plaguing it. Your vengeance is at hand..."
"...Finally."
