"Young Mistress, you…" Seeing the determination on the beautiful woman's face, Bai Shuo was at a loss for words. His mission was to escort the Young Mistress back to the Bai Family. Even if he had ten times the courage, he wouldn't dare lay a hand on her!

"What are you all standing around for? Listen to the Young Mistress! Fall in!" Bai Shuo finally relented, roaring at the Martial Artists beside him before storming back to the carriage.

Seeing that Bai Shuo was no longer stopping her, the beautiful woman, with the help of Da Mao and Er Mao, lifted the human boy from the ground and onto the carriage. As they moved him, however, they failed to notice an exquisite Jade Pendant fall from his body. On its face was carved a strong, vigorous character: "Shen." This human boy was none other than Shen Haoran, who had narrowly escaped death from within the spatial rift!

Once Shen Haoran was on the carriage, the Young Mistress began to dress his wounds. She used all sorts of Healing Medicine on him without a second thought, even feeding him a Fifth Grade Elixir. Watching from outside, Bai Shuo's eyes filled with jealousy.

'Hmph, just a member of the Human Race. What has he done to deserve such care from the Young Mistress!' Bai Shuo glanced coldly at the unconscious Shen Haoran, a flicker of killing intent in his eyes. But after looking at the Young Mistress beside him, Bai Shuo concealed his murderous gaze and walked to the very front of the procession alone, his expression dark and unreadable.

The procession continued onward. Because of the severely injured Shen Haoran, the Young Mistress didn't leave the carriage for five days, constantly tending to him inside. In the blink of an eye, five days passed. Under the Young Mistress's care, Shen Haoran's injuries had begun to heal, and his breathing grew steady and deep. He was no longer in danger of dying at any moment.

Seeing Shen Haoran's condition stabilize, the Young Mistress finally let out a long sigh of relief. She followed it with a long stretch, which perfectly accentuated her stunning figure.

"He's finally saved. I can breathe a little easier now!" the Young Mistress chuckled softly and stepped down from the carriage. After five days of saving Shen Haoran without a moment's rest, it was time to get out and stretch her legs.

After the Young Mistress left the carriage, the still-unconscious Shen Haoran's fingers twitched slightly, and his long eyelashes fluttered. But a moment later, he sank back into a deep sleep.

Seeing the Young Mistress emerge, everyone gathered around her. "Young Mistress, how is that human kid?" they asked.

"His life is no longer in danger, but he's still in a coma. I don't know when he'll wake up," the Young Mistress said with a light laugh, rubbing her numb arm.

"Hmph. If you ask me, now that his life isn't in danger, we should just dump him here. Who knows if that human kid will turn against you when he wakes up, Young Mistress!" Bai Shuo said coldly from the side.

At his words, the others fell silent, and the Young Mistress's expression soured. "Commander Bai Shuo," she said, "I know you're prejudiced against the Human Race, but no matter what, he is still a living person. Spirit Beasts roam these lands. If we abandon him here, he'll most likely be eaten. How would that be any different from us killing him with our own hands?"

"Young Mistress, you are far too merciful! There isn't a single good person in the entire Human Race. They won't appreciate our kindness!" Bai Shuo said, his tone full of exasperation.

"That's enough, Commander Bai Shuo," the Young Mistress said coldly. "I will not abandon him before he awakens. If you still recognize me as your Young Mistress, then do not oppose me again!"

"You…" Hearing the Young Mistress use her status to pressure him, Bai Shuo could only snort coldly, storming off with a flick of his sleeves.

Watching Bai Shuo's retreating back, the Young Mistress let out a long sigh. She glanced deeply at Shen Haoran inside the carriage and could only shake her head helplessly.

RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE…

Just as the atmosphere grew awkward, a series of rustles suddenly echoed from the surrounding forest, and several powerful auras began to approach at high speed.

"On guard!" Sensing the movements around them, Bai Shuo's expression changed, and he immediately roared the command. The surrounding Martial Artists drew their weapons, forming a protective circle around the Young Mistress and the carriage.

ROAR!

A moment later, a heaven-shaking roar echoed from the woods. Dozens of black shadows burst forth from the trees, quickly surrounding Bai Shuo and his group.

"Gale Demon Wolves!" Bai Shuo's face fell as he saw the dozens of powerfully built Spirit Beasts. The Gale Demon Wolves were a notorious pack in this forest. They traveled in groups, killed on sight, and never let a single living creature escape. Because they always moved in packs of several dozen, and each one was a Tier Four Spirit Beast with terrifying combat strength, no one was willing to face them.

All along their journey, Bai Shuo and his men had been deliberately avoiding the Gale Demon Wolves' territory, afraid of disturbing these local overlords. Yet, just as they were about to leave the forest, they had been intercepted.

"Damn it! Prepare for battle!" The moment he saw the Gale Demon Wolves, Bai Shuo knew they couldn't escape. There was no other way out but to face the pack head-on and kill them. At his command, everyone tightened their grip on their weapons, ready to fight for their lives.

AWOOO! A great howl came from within the Gale Demon Wolf pack. As if on command, the surrounding Demon Wolves opened their cavernous maws and charged the group. Foul-smelling saliva sprayed from their mouths, corroding deep pits into the earth wherever it landed.

"Be careful, everyone! Protect the Young Mistress!" Bai Shuo grunted, flicking his long spear and charging forward to meet them. As the strongest one here, he had to take the front line.

Hearing his command, the men all moved closer to the Young Mistress, tightening their circle around her. But the carriage—and Shen Haoran inside it—was abandoned.

Watching the frenzied assault of the Gale Demon Wolves, the Young Mistress's expression changed. She glanced at Shen Haoran, still sleeping in the carriage, and shouted, "Protect the man in the carriage!"

But despite her order, no one obeyed. In their minds, the Young Mistress's safety was far more important than that of the human boy. Besides, the Gale Demon Wolves were no easy opponents. Even if they had wanted to spare someone to protect Shen Haoran, they didn't have the strength to do so.

Seeing that no one was listening to her, the Young Mistress gritted her teeth and dashed directly toward the carriage. 'If I'm next to the carriage, they'll have to protect Shen Haoran, too!'

The men's faces paled when they saw the Young Mistress run out of their protective circle. At that moment, a Gale Demon Wolf noticed her and Shen Haoran. It instantly broke away from the main fight and charged toward the two of them.

"Vile beast, you dare!" Bai Shuo, who saw this from a distance, roared in fury. But he was tied up fighting the Wolf King and was completely unable to break away.

Seeing that the Gale Demon Wolf's primary target was Shen Haoran, the Young Mistress suddenly accelerated, throwing herself in front of him. The Demon Wolf's cavernous maw instantly sank into her shoulder. Blood sprayed out, staining her snow-white clothes a deep crimson!

DRIP…

Warm blood dripped onto Shen Haoran's face. His tightly shut eyes snapped open, and a terrifying pressure erupted from him, instantly shredding the Gale Demon Wolf behind the Young Mistress into a bloody mist…
