"Look, do you think it’s pretty?" Seara showed her nails to Zade. When Leia and Caylin came over, they painted their nails with a matching color.

She had wanted to do this kind of thing, but unfortunately, she had been blessed with a lot of men surrounding her.

"They are pretty." Zade kissed Seara’s knuckles lightly. Her left arm was still bandaged, and Leia seemed to have drawn something on it.

"Can we go home?" Seara felt she was getting better, and there was no need for her to stay longer. Her wounds had slowly healed, and now she could sleep on her back again.

She didn’t like to be in the hospital. It had been two weeks, and this place was suffocating. At this point, it felt like her second home.

"I will check with Rio."

Zade appeared a little bit calmer, along with Seara’s healing. Her bruises had healed, and the only problem was the scars on her skin. Some scars would heal over time, though it would take a long time. However, some scars, like the scar from the beast’s bite on her left arm, wouldn’t heal completely.

Rio had explained that she could get the scar removed with cosmetic surgery. However, Seara had not yet decided whether she wanted to do it or not.

"Zade, what should I do to help you?" Seara pulled her legs against her chest and rested her chin on her knees. She hugged herself while staring at Zade, who was peeling an orange for her.

Zephyr told her a few days ago that it was astounding to see Zade could control his beast so quickly after the madness; therefore, in Zephyr’s eyes, she didn’t need to do anything but stay with Zade, and it was already a tremendous help.

The royal gamma knew about her worry and her concern about how the other pack members saw her. Being a runt was still the main problem, and she didn’t want those shifters to create a riot again just because of the same issue.

"Just stay with me." Zade fed her the orange.

"Did you brief Zephyr to say the same thing?" Seara looked at Zade suspiciously, but he kept feeding her the orange.

"No one can dictate what he says. Most of the time, he doesn’t even know what he says. But if he said that you should stay with me, then he is right."

Seara was not happy with the answer. "What if there is another riot? The alphas want you to take a strong she-wolf."

Zade scoffed at the idea. "I don’t need a strong she-wolf. Whether my mate is strong or not, it will not change anything. I have been without a mate for so many centuries; why all of a sudden do I need a strong she-wolf?"

When Zade put it that way, Seara realized he was right. Only now were people being noisy about Zade having a mate, while he hadn’t had one for so long.

"No need to stress yourself out over that. I got it handled. What happened before was my oversight. I miscalculated. It will not happen again." Zade stretched out his hand to give her the orange, but this time, Seara grabbed his hand and held it.

She took the orange and ’accidentally’ licked his finger. It might look innocent, but Zade understood what she was trying to do.

What Altair said about the marking had been bothering her. After their encounter last time, Zade was still holding back with his approach to her, especially now when she was injured.

"Where are you, fucking wolf?" Maisie called out for Reaper with a sing-song voice as she entered the forest where the wild wolf lived. "Come here, come here, you fucking bastard..."

Maisie had healed within a day’s rest, but as an omega, she had a few tasks to do, which she didn’t like; also, because Seara had not yet returned, the reason why she chose Maisie’s body couldn’t be accomplished.

As Neriah, she had been in the residence a few times and noticed the two omegas, who were always with Seara as her personal maid; therefore, getting one of them would be perfect.

"Come here, come here, Reaper," Maisie called for Reaper as she spread good chunks of meat on the ground. "Where are you, Reaper?"

This morning, Maisie heard that Seara would return tomorrow, and she was ecstatic to hear that, but there was one thing she had to do first as a welcome-home gift for her.

"My sweet Reaper, come here. I bring a lot of food for you."

Seara was excited that she could finally get discharged; she missed her home so much and wanted to see Maisie and Caylin.

Yesterday, Leia gave her a huge set of nail polish, knowing Seara would enjoy it. And now, she wanted to try it with her two omegas.

However, when they arrived at the residence, Seara was devastated when she heard a warrior report to Zade that there were at least thirteen wild wolves that had died.

"Why? How?" Seara’s first thought was Reaper and his pups. "Zade, I want to see."

And with that, even before she entered the house, they went to the forest, where three warriors stood, guarding the dead bodies of the thirteen wolves that were lined up on the ground.

"What happened?" Zade asked darkly as Seara looked at the wolves one by one.

There were no external wounds, and according to the doctor who checked on the wolves, it was poison. Someone had given them poisonous food, which made them unable to breathe.

"Unfortunately, there is no surveillance camera in this area, so we can’t identify who did it. But whoever it is, they must be familiar with this place."

One of the warriors explained the situation to Zade, while Seara was devastated. She didn’t find Reaper, but she recognized two of Reaper’s pups were among the thirteen dead wolves: Black Dot and Spike.

Seara cried when she touched Black Dot’s paw, and the wolf didn’t react.
