There was a sound of rustling in the bushes, and then they saw Reaper appear with his last pup. They walked toward Seara, while his mate stayed behind.

Seara stretched out her hand toward Reaper and Little Paw, who was almost as big as his father now.

The two wolves approached Seara and let out long howls that sounded so devastated while rubbing their muzzles against her hand, and then Seara hugged them.

On the other hand, the three warriors were on high alert because they knew Reaper had attacked Maisie, and Leia had warned the other warriors to be more cautious toward Reaper.

They looked at each other and then at the Lycan king as if to ask if they should intervene and take the wolf away. However, Zade didn’t seem concerned about it.

He stared at his mate, and even though he was ready to take action at the slightest threat toward Seara, he was not tense.

Reaper didn’t seem like he was going to attack her, either. He was always exceptionally docile around her, and now it was no different.

"Are you going to bury them?" Seara asked Zade while Reaper’s mate came over and nudged her two pups, but they didn’t budge.

"We will bury them," Zade replied.

Seara insisted on coming to the site they had chosen for burying the dead wolves. The process was not easy, and it was rather chilling because all the wild wolves gathered around; they surrounded the area, creating an anxious atmosphere for the warriors.

At least thirteen warriors dug the spots, one for each wolf. They had to make the spots deeper because the wolves tended to dig them again.

Seara hugged Zade when she watched them put down the dead wolf bodies for their designated hole. She was still sobbing as they went back to the bungalow.

The fact that someone poisoned the wild wolves was alarming. Especially as it happened just one day before Seara’s return. The incident could be a coincidence, but Zade would consider everything a possibility.

"You need to find the person who did it," Seara said in a small voice later that night before they went to sleep.

She didn’t get out of bed for the rest of the day, and it was Zade who brought food to their room and ate together during dinner time.

"I will." He pulled her closer and hugged her, caressing her hair to help Seara fall asleep easily, but while he was doing that, he mind-linked a few warriors to check the surveillance cameras around that could catch someone approaching the forest.

And the next day, Zade received a report that they caught Chloe sneakily entering the residence area, and she was going to the main building. But there was a time when she couldn’t be seen near the forest.

"Chloe?" Zephyr was surprised when he heard that. "Well, I know she is a mess, but I don’t think she is the type that will go to the forest and poison the wolves. Hell, she doesn’t even like her branded shoes to touch the ground, let alone a muddy ground like the one in the forest."

That indeed made sense, but they had to know why she was there and how she could sneak into the residence, and no one knew about it.

Because of that, Zade asked Zephyr to call her over.

"Chloe?" Seara had a bitter taste in her mouth when she heard her name. She was hugging Little Paw while sitting on the sofa and listened to what Zade found out.

This afternoon, Chloe would come, and they would question her about the incident with the wolves. Zade asked whether Seara wanted to come to the main building and listened to what happened.

"Yes, I want to come." Seara felt it was a bit odd that Chloe had suddenly come to take revenge on the wolves.

They didn’t have a good impression when they first met, but Chloe hadn’t been around for months. Seara had almost forgotten about her if it weren’t for Altair, who brought her up in an argument with Zade a week ago.

"What is it? Do you miss me?" Chloe asked with a frown. She crossed her arms and legs as she sat down on the sofa, glaring at Zade and Ace. "You better hold that wolf tightly; that wolf is aggressive. I don’t want his dirty paw on my dress."

Seara was sitting on a single sofa with Reaper on her lap; she caressed the wolf’s head lightly while staring at Chloe.

Zade was standing behind Seara, while Ace was sitting next to Chloe.

"Tell me, why did you sneakily enter the residence? I have warned you not to come, right?" Ace started the conversation.

This time, Chloe had short, green hair, and her eyes were violet. It always amazed Seara how different she was every time she saw her. Chloe was so expressive, as if she didn’t care about anything else but her own excitement.

"You have to ask your brother," Chloe said angrily as she took her phone out of her purse and showed him a message Jeremy had sent her a few days ago, telling her to come over.

"What?" Ace furrowed his brows when he saw the message.

"Yes, ’what.’ That was exactly my reaction," Chloe said. "And when I came, he was not even here. That’s why I blocked him."

In the text, it was clearly Jeremy who had called her over and told her which way she could use to sneak into the residence. Chloe declined the idea because she didn’t want anything to do with them after Ace kicked her out the last time.

However, Jeremy insisted that he needed her help, but he couldn’t explain it to her in the message. Only then did Chloe agree to come.

"I thought you punished him or something and locked him up in the dungeon; maybe the riot was caused by one of his stupidities, so I came."
