Previously, Chloe had given Seara chocolate and said that Zade liked it, but it turned out that Zade didn’t like anything sweet. Seara was still upset when she remembered that she had been foolish to believe Chloe.

"Hey, I am not that bad; don’t be too hostile with me." Chloe slouched on the sofa; she grinned. It seemed that she also remembered what she had done the last time she interacted with Seara. "We can be friends, you know."

"I don’t want to be friends with you."

"Fine." Chloe shrugged her shoulders. "It’s your loss." She then played on her phone while grumbling. "Why should I be here?"

They were currently in the living room of the main building. The sky had turned dark, as if the rain was going to pour anytime soon.

Seara wondered what was happening that caused Zade and Ace to rush out of the house with such a scary look, but when she saw Chloe, she didn’t look worried in the slightest.

Unless she had a tendency to be a psychopath, Seara didn’t think Chloe was the one who had poisoned the wolves, seeing how casual she was.

The sky darkened quickly, and Seara was staring at trees swayed by the strong wind when she heard a sweet, sultry voice that she had heard before.

"She is grumbling a lot, don’t you think?"

Seara snapped her head, and she saw her. The woman with the golden eyes. She was standing not too far from her and Chloe, crossing her arms in front of her chest, while her long, black hair cascaded down behind her back. She looked eerily beautiful in her black dress.

No. Not this again...

At the same time, Reaper reacted strongly as well. The wolf jumped from Seara’s lap and started to let out a vicious bark.

Meanwhile, Seara felt her breath caught in her throat as she tried to calm Reaper down by holding onto him tightly. The wolf went crazy. Could the wolf see her too?

She tried not to react because Chloe was there. She was afraid that Chloe would think of her as unstable by having a meltdown here.

But to her surprise, it was Chloe who spoke first.

"Who are you?" Chloe asked with a frown. She was on her feet now; her body was defensive.

Seara was stunned, to say the least. "You—you can see her?" she stuttered a little.

"What? Can’t you see her? Is there something wrong with your eyes?" Chloe gave Seara a confused look, which upset her.

She didn’t need to be rude to her all the time, right?

However, somehow it made Seara breathe in relief to know she was not the only one who could see this woman.

She was not crazy; Chloe could see her too.

And Seara was not the only one who was surprised by this revelation as well, because the golden-eyed woman looked at Chloe with interest.

"It is a surprise that you can see me." Her eyes lit up and her smile widened, which made Seara feel unwell. She felt the dreadful feeling all over again as she hugged Reaper tightly.

"Well, you are so big; how can I miss that?" Chloe crossed her arms and frowned at the other woman. "So, who are you? How can you enter this house?"

The other woman tilted her head; she was contemplating her next move. Chloe’s ability to see her had not been part of the plan, but this unexpected development was an interesting twist as well.

"Who are you?" Chloe was sharp with her question; she had been around the residence for years, so she knew this woman didn’t belong here, since Zade preferred to have the same people around him.

And from the look of it, this woman couldn’t be an omega or a servant. No, Chloe couldn’t even smell her scent. She didn’t have a scent; that’s why Chloe didn’t notice her until she spoke.

"Hmm... This is not what I planned." The woman touched her chin. Outside, the sky grew even darker, and thunder and lightning split the air. "But it’s okay."

The woman with golden eyes approached them; she walked slowly, as if there were nothing she needed to worry about. The smile on her face was devastatingly beautiful and captivating.

However, Seara could feel nothing but horror creep over her skin, and when she was distraught, Reaper managed to pull away from Seara’s arms and attacked the woman.

"Reaper!" Seara wanted to get her wolf back, but Reaper had lunged toward her, and she was not quick enough to hold him back.

For some reason, Seara was scared of this woman. She didn’t want to be anywhere near her. Her instinct screamed at her to run.

But she watched the woman flick her wrist lazily, and Reaper’s body was hurled across the room and collided against the drawer.

"Oh, shit!" Chloe cursed under her breath when she saw what this woman could do. "Come here, Seara!" She grabbed Seara’s hand and pulled her closer to run with her.

"No, Reaper..." Seara watched as the wolf attempted to attack the woman again, and he was hurled away just like before.

"Don’t think about the wolf; we are in danger! We need to get to Zade!" Chloe growled at Seara furiously, her eyes filled with horror.

She had never met this woman, but every shifter would be told the same story about the myth of the devils, and the woman checked all the lists.

Chloe pulled Seara with her, heading toward the front door, but before they could get out, the door closed, and when Chloe tried to open it, it didn’t even budge.

"Shit!" Chloe then grabbed Seara again to try a different exit, and at this point, Seara knew they had to get away from that woman, whoever she was.

But because all the doors were closed, Seara grabbed a small statue from the display cabinet and used it to break the window glass.
