For a brief second, Seara caught the brown copper wolf’s eyes, and she knew what Chloe wanted her to do. She had told her that before. It felt like there was a tacit understanding between them at that moment, though they couldn’t communicate freely.
And as if on cue, the moment Chloe lunged toward Lilith, Seara ran in the opposite direction, but before she left, from the corner of her eye, she saw Misty and Ghost were right beside Chloe, assisting her in her attack.
After that, Seara focused on how to get to Zade, or any warrior for help. Needless to say, she couldn’t fight, which would make her a burden if she stayed, but she didn’t want to be useless either.
Right now, she focused on her mission to find help for Chloe. She was not sure how good Chloe’s fighting skills were, but she was the alpha’s daughter. That fact comforted Seara a bit, as she ran as fast as she could.
She looked around the forest; it was so difficult to move in the rain, and the muddy ground slowed her down.
Her jeans were torn because she tripped on the roots a few times, and her body was covered in mud, but she couldn’t care less. The thought that Chloe could die any time forced her to stand up every time she fell.
And when her shoes bothered her, since they were full of mud, she took them off and ran barefoot. She wished whatever weird barrier that had prevented them from reaching Ace’s house wouldn’t be there.

Oliver stared at his reflection in the mirror, and this was not the last time he had done it. He was still amazed to find himself in a different body, though he had occupied it for a few weeks now.
"Oliver, someone is looking for you." Olivia’s voice travelled inside the room, and before he could give her permission to enter, she had already opened the door and stepped in. "Who is that woman?"
Oliver immediately knew who Olivia was referring to, and he went out of the room right away without saying anything to his sister.
"Hey! Are you dating that woman?" Olivia was at a loss; she felt her brother had changed. He became more aloof than his usual self. She couldn’t understand this sudden change. "Is it because he dates that woman? Who is she?"
When Olivia went downstairs, she saw Oliver get into the car, and the woman drove away with him. She couldn’t tell who she was.
Meanwhile, inside the car, Oliver felt weird to see the woman beside him. "Is this... the body that you chose for now? Who are you?"
"Maisie," Maisie said with a wink as she glanced at Oliver. "Seara’s personal omega."
Oliver pressed his lips together when he heard that. "You should have given me that body instead of this one." If this woman were Seara’s personal omega, it would make it easier for him to get closer to her. Moreover, she was a shifter.
It still felt weird not being able to shift into his wolf form.
"Don’t complain too much. Everything has been planned. Your role is an important part of the plan, too. Now, you can call him." Maisie stopped at the traffic lights. "We don’t have much time. I don’t have much time."
Oliver wanted to argue because he was still pissed, but he did what she told him to do and picked up his phone to make a call.
"Jeremy?"

Zade couldn’t believe this. Leviathan managed to escape. Four warriors who guarded the watchtower were found dead, poisoned, just like the wild wolves.
The deaths of the wild wolves were only a distraction, and now they had lost the devil.
"The surveillance cameras have been down for three hours, and we thought it was because of the thunder," one of the warriors explained what happened to Zade in a trembling voice. He lowered his head in front of the king, afraid of his wrath, because he knew what it meant to lose the devil.
"Ace!" Zade hollered. He was enraged. His eyes were darkened, and you could feel the rage that rolled off him like the storm outside.
"I am on it," Ace said. He had made a call to Zephyr to return; there was an emergency at the residence, while Caspian was already getting his hands on the matter with the surveillance cameras and trying to fix them all.
"Whoever did this must be an insider, because no one could have done it so smoothly if they didn’t know the layout of the residence well. They should be able to move around the residence without raising any suspicion."
Leia was there too; she held an umbrella, standing a few steps away from the watchtower where they held Leviathan after the explosion a few weeks ago that burned the old watchtower, which had been used to lock him up.
Everything was premeditated: from the explosion, the riot that was caused by the three packs, the death of the wolves, and now this... the goal was to get the devil out.
"I think Leia is right," Ace agreed.
The patrol warriors found that the guards around the watchtower were dead, and based on when the surveillance cameras were broken, it must have been two to three hours since Leviathan was freed. He could be everywhere.
"I want every detail of who is in and out of the residence during that time," Zade said grimly.
The sky was so dark as the gloomy clouds blocked the afternoon sunlight, and rain was pouring down in big droplets.
But something different bothered Zade. He knew the devils were very tricky; they were cunning and wicked.
If something could be used as a distraction, the disappearance of Leviathan might have been a distraction as well.
Zade looked around him; Ace and Leia were here, and Caspian was fixing things; there were a lot of warriors around as well.
It didn’t sit well with Zade, as he shifted abruptly.
