Seara took her medicine. If drinking it could fix whatever was wrong in her head, she would drink the entire bottle at once.

"Go to sleep; I will be here." Zade didn’t lie down next to her; it meant once Seara fell asleep, he was going to leave and take care of the problem within the residence, which currently was handled by Ace.

Jeremy was grounded when Caspian saw his son had left his mother and Seara, denying the order.

"I didn’t mean to hurt Leia. I swear, I didn’t mean to hurt her." Seara felt awful when she remembered Leia’s injuries. "There was a man with red eyes. Please, believe me. He is so real. He looks so real."

But then, so did Sybill and Sheena. They looked real in her eyes at a certain point. The problem was: they were real only to her. They only existed in her mind.

"I know. We are looking for the man with the red eyes, okay?" Zade caressed her cheek and leaned over to kiss her forehead. "Leia is fine. That’s only a scratch; she must have been healed by now."

"But I hurt her, and she will hate me." Seara tugged at her hair nervously. "She is going to hate me. I have ruined it. I ruin everything again. I am sorry."

"Hey, hey, you don’t ruin anything. You are fine, and Leia is fine. She just texted me asking how you are." Zade fished out his phone and showed the text to Seara. "She is not angry with you. She is worried."

Seara grabbed the phone and saw the text. Zade was not lying. There was a text from Leia that he had not replied to yet.

It didn’t make her feel fine, but at least Seara felt slightly better to know that Leia didn’t hate her.

"What—what happened? Was it a rogue attack?" That was the only thing that crossed her mind.

"No, we don’t know that for sure yet, we are still investigating what happened," Zade said calmly, as if silently telling her that she didn’t need to worry and everything was under control.

"Which building had been burned?"

"The watchtower," Zade replied. He played with her hair absentmindedly. "Now, get some rest."

The medicine kicked in, and Seara felt significantly more relaxed before the exhaustion crippled her body to sleep, even though there were still a few questions that she wanted to ask Zade.

On the other hand, Zade stayed with her until she fell asleep. He didn’t take her to the main building; instead, they went back to the bungalow and had tight security prepared around it.

Once Seara fell asleep, Zade stood up. He stared at his mate for a little bit longer before he crossed the room and stepped out.

But then, the moment Zade opened the door, Reaper had been waiting outside the room. The wild wolf was wagging its tail, and Zade held the door for him and let him in.

He watched as Reaper took his spot on the bed next to Seara before he stayed there quietly. Seeing this, Zade said nothing and walked out of the bungalow, where at least three dozen warriors had been surrounding the house.

"Stay here. If something happened to her, I will have all of your heads." Zade clearly didn’t play with what he was saying.

Maisie and Caylin were already inside, just in case Seara woke up and she needed something.

Meanwhile, Zade went to the burning watchtower. When he was there, they had put out the fire, and what was left was rubble and ashes.

"We have moved him to the other watchtower and put extra security around it," Ace said. He approached Zade when he saw him coming. "We also managed to capture the people who had caused this."

"Who are they?" Zade asked coldly. He narrowed his eyes at Ace, who looked troubled.

"They are our own people, Zade, but something was not right." Ace looked uneasy. "They didn’t seem to remember what happened. We are currently interrogating them."

"Where are they?"

"In the dungeon."

Without waiting for long, Zade went to the dungeon with Ace following behind him. Ace told him every single piece of information that he could gather in such a short time.

Apparently, the four warriors who were involved in the explosion were the ones who had been guarding the watchtower for years by now, and they didn’t have any motive to do it.

And when Zade reached the door of the interrogation room, where they kept the four warriors involved, they could hear a loud shrieking sound from inside.

The four of them were on the floor with silver bracelets on their arms to prevent them from shifting into their wolf forms, and they were chained to the wall.

"Let me out! Let me out!" All of them were screaming the same thing. "Get off me!"

And as if they felt the strong presence in the room, they stopped almost immediately, as their eyes stole a glance at Zade now and then.

"Why did you do that?" Zade asked, his voice dripping with venom.

"Let me out!"

"Shut up and answer the question!" Zade used his alpha’s voice to shut him up and put pressure, which turned into physical pain for them.

"Someone—someone told me to do it. I don’t know. I don’t remember." The warrior was trembling; he kept shaking his head, as if something had intruded into his mind and he couldn’t think clearly. "I don’t know. I don’t remember. I only remember seeing that man and then the explosion. I didn’t do it."

"Three witnesses who are your fellow warriors saw what the four of you did. One of them died during the confrontation, and the other two are heavily injured," Ace said. He found this weird too. Before this, he wouldn’t question their loyalty.

On the other hand, Zade was quiet; he didn’t say anything and listened to what they were saying.

"Belial," Zade finally said.
