Zephyr raised both of his arms in the air. He made a surrendered gesture as he glanced at his meat, which was only halfway eaten.

"I didn’t mean to compete. I only know about the bracelet because Brigid told me about it in one of her rants." Zephyr put on an innocent face.

"What else do you know?"

It was a little ridiculous, but Zade was also surprised by the fact that it upset him to know Zephyr understood his mate better than he did.

"Nothing important."

"Bored me with the details."

The corner of Zephyr’s lips twitched. Zade made a big deal out of a simple bracelet. It was actually kind of scary, but also unthinkable for someone like Zade to want to know about a woman in detail.

In the past, he didn’t even remember which woman he had spent the night with.

"Not much. She used to have a cat. She loves drawing, and apparently, she likes trinkets. Little cute things, you know, typical of a woman—" Zephyr then added, just in case his information had been updated. "—but keep in mind, Brigid complained about Seara when she was a teenager. Probably, her taste has changed now."

He didn’t want to be blamed if Zade bought those things and Seara was no longer interested in them. Given how impulsively Zade had bought those dresses and jewelry for her, it was a possibility.

"I have bought her a lot of trinkets."

"Gold bracelets and gold rings are not trinkets, Zade."

Sometimes, Zephyr could feel frustrated with Zade too. Zephyr put down his hands and then continued eating.

"I have tried to find a clue, but I still can’t find Daven. Alpha Rexton didn’t have any idea where he was either."

The atmosphere suddenly changed because the topic had shifted. Zephyr had come to the Blackthorne Pack to take Daven away, but he couldn’t find him in that small house, which he used to occupy, and he couldn’t figure out where he was. There was not even a single clue about Daven’s whereabouts.

One day he was still there, and the next day he had vanished.

"We will talk about it later," Zade said when he heard Seara’s footsteps approaching the dining room. He was already familiar with her footsteps.

"So, who had attacked the pack?" Zephyr asked as he caught up with what happened in the pack during his absence.

He had seen the burned watchtower, and now, the demon had been moved to the east watchtower.

"Are you sure that is Belial?" Zephyr looked worried.

"Yes," Zade replied.

The three of them were currently in the war room. Two hours remained before the alphas from the three packs would arrive. Ace arranged the meeting with them, per Zade’s instructions, to discuss the return of the demons.

The lifespan of the werewolves was not as long as the Lycans, so the Lycans and their descendants were the only creatures who had faced the demons head-on.

And every one hundred and eleven years, the catastrophe that the demons brought to this realm would occur.

Of course, it didn’t happen overnight, but the appearance of Belial was a sign that the demons would rise again and history would repeat itself.

The werewolves would need guidance on how to deal with it.

It was written in the history of the shifters that every one hundred and eleven years, the power of the demons would reach its peak and all dark creatures would increase their power.

That time period would also be referred to as the dark time, as it was typically followed by disasters.

The last time it happened, a massive earthquake killed hundreds of thousands of people and shifters alike, and famine killed another hundred thousand.

"How long before it will happen again?" Zade asked.

"If we count it right, it can be ten years from now," Ace replied.

"Ugh. I don’t like it." Zephyr groaned. He stretched his body, as if the mere thought of what they would face later had already drained him of energy. "Why can’t we kill those demons?"

"Even if we can kill them, we can’t avoid the natural disaster," Ace said.

The thing was, the massive natural disaster would occur at the same time the demons were at the peak of their power, which only added to the people’s suffering.

Since Zade and Zephyr were having an important meeting to discuss what had happened the other night, Seara was left alone in the bungalow. She tried reading a book and doing other things to keep herself busy.

Maisie and Caylin were there to keep her company; Reaper also came with the pups that were almost as big as him.

The presence of the wild wolves still scared the omegas, but the wolves attached to Seara. They would lie down around her when she read her book in the living room, like fluffy dolls.

And right before lunch, someone knocked on the door, and when Maisie opened it, she was surprised to see Leia was there.

"Mrs. Sol?" She immediately stepped away from the door.

"Where is Seara?" Leia asked, her hazel eyes lit up with excitement. Behind her was Jeremy; he looked as if he had lost twenty years of his life after his father and brother scolded him senseless for leaving his mother and Seara despite the direct order.

Leia entered the house and found Seara was sitting on the carpet with wild wolves around her. She tensed up.

"Mom, don’t get closer; that’s Reaper," Jeremy reminded his mother that one of the wolves was the vicious alpha wolf that had bitten him a few months ago.

"Reaper, go outside, okay?" Seara patted its head, and the wild wolf took his pups to go out.

Jeremy immediately stood up in front of his mother protectively when the four wild wolves walked past them.

However, Leia didn’t seem to bother with it; her attention was on Seara.

"My dear, let’s go and have lunch outside."
