Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 95: HAVING LUNCH WITH LEIA

Seara was nervous, and Leia could feel it. She took her hand and held it gently. "You will be okay. Don’t worry, I will not let anything happen to you."

They were in the car, and Jeremy was driving, while there were two other cars behind them, filled with a few warriors.

Zade only allowed them to leave if they took those warriors with them. That was what he said in the phone call when Seara asked whether she could go with Leia.

This would be the first time she went out without Zade, and, needless to say, Seara was not the only one worried.

Therefore, Zade sent some people with them. And what he meant by ’some’ was actually ten warriors—the most skillful ones at that—whom he usually deployed on difficult missions.

Actually, this was the first time the ten of them had been out together for the same mission.

"Thank you," Seara said sheepishly. She looked at Leia’s hand and saw that it had healed perfectly, which was a relief.

Leia didn’t talk about what happened that night, either. She didn’t seem scared or look at Seara any differently. She was very grateful for that.

"What do you like to eat?" Leia asked. "There is a restaurant in the Wvern Shopping Center that I visit frequently. They have the best roasting duck. You have to try it. Have you tried roasting duck before?"

Seara shook her head.

Seeing that, Leia’s eyes lit up. "Great! Then it will be your first time trying it!" She was ecstatic, while Jeremy scratched his head.

"Mom, no roasting duck again. I feel as if I would quack every time I finish eating it."

"You are a quack indeed." Leia was still annoyed at Jeremy, but not because she was left alone, but because she was worried something might happen to her son.

After all, he rushed into a dangerous area that had just been attacked. Caspian didn’t tell her in detail, but he said it was Belial, and she knew immediately what it meant.

"I have apologized."

"Not that easy, young man," Leia said sternly. "Be quiet and drive; I have an interesting conversation here with Seara."

Jeremy scrunched his nose as he watched his mother and Seara interact through the rearview mirror. He was in the phase where he wanted to prove his worth. He was a little bit rebellious and reckless.

Being adopted into the family of the royal beta of the Lycans came with its pressures, even though neither Leia nor Caspian had ever asked him to do anything.

Even so, Jeremy felt as if he had to do something, to make himself useful.

It didn’t take long before they finally arrived at the Wvern Shopping Center. Then Leia took Seara to the restaurant she had mentioned earlier.

Leia’s tendency to chat was a good thing because Seara didn’t know what to say. It brought a different form of comfort, and she liked the way she touched her and held her hand.

"Stay here, children; I want to chat with the owner for a while," Leia said before she stood up.

They had been seated at Leia’s favorite spot, which was near the window, where they could see the garden inside the shopping center. It was at the corner too, so it was less noisy.

This restaurant didn’t have a private room, but it was huge. During rush hour, the place was usually packed with customers. Thankfully, today it was not as crowded as usual.

Seara was a little bit nervous, but she could handle it well so far.

The restaurant had a warm color palette with earthy tones, which made people relax. The lighting was also soft, which created a cozy mood, while the table was made of wood.

Seara liked this place. She didn’t go to a shopping center often when she was in the Blackthorne Pack.

"Hey," Jeremy called Seara. He was bored because he had been in this restaurant more often than he wanted to. To the point, he remembered the menu by heart. "Don’t you find it troublesome to wash your hair?"

Jeremy had never seen someone with long hair like Seara. He had tried to have long hair too because he thought it was cool, yet he couldn’t deal with it for long because it was tiring when he had to wash it and dry it.

"No." Seara shook her head. She didn’t tie her hair, but she used a bandana to make it less unruly. Zade somehow found a product that could make her hair easier to tame, so her curls were no longer like a lion mane. "Sometimes, Zade will help me to wash my hair."

Jeremy widened his eyes in shock. "He did—what?" He leaned over abruptly, which startled Seara.

"He... helped me to wash my hair," Seara repeated what she said. She wondered what was wrong with her statement. Was that so bad? Why did Jeremy react so strongly?

"Damn. He is whipped." Jeremy shook his head. "Do you think if you ask him to grow his hair long—he will do it?"

Seara furrowed her brows. "I will not ask that."

Jeremy was still dumbfounded by that fact, but then he remembered that his father had also been head over heels for his mother. So, it was indeed the Lycan’s traits.

Meanwhile, the ten warriors who followed them scattered throughout the restaurant. Some of them sat alone, while others were in groups of two or three. They blended in with the other customers well.

"Hey, tell me, how does the king treat you?" Jeremy suddenly became nosy. He wondered how that cold Lycan king behaved when he was with his mate.

However, before Seara could answer the question, suddenly, a group of four young women approached her table.

"Jeremy! What are you doing here? And who the hell is this woman?" One of them glared at Seara. "You said you couldn’t go out because you were busy," she said.
