Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Underestimate
"I never expected you to still be alive. May I ask how you survived my lethal attack?" Kay Sung asked as he continued walking toward Lars and the others.
Lars, meanwhile, had no mood to have a conversation. Right now, he only wanted to beat the hell out of that man.
"Get ready, you two. We’re going to fight him!" Lars said.
"Are you sure, Lars? Your condition is pretty bad right now. It would be better if we retreat first," Max said.
"I don’t have any problem with fighting. Bring it on!" Ryuken said.
"If we retreat now, we might not get another chance to save Celine. This is our only chance!" Lars insisted.
Thirty minutes had already passed, meaning Clandestine Magi was available again. Lars immediately changed to the Class. He then raised both hands into the air.
"Absolute Vanish!"
Max and Ryuken suddenly disappeared before Lars was the last one to vanish.
Kay Sung stopped walking. The enemies who had been standing in front of him had suddenly disappeared from his senses.
’What is this? Some kind of skill?’
Kay Sung realized that he was in a dangerous situation. This was the first time he had completely lost track of his prey.
And right now, he realized something even more unsettling. He was the one who had become the prey.
Swoosh!
White feathers began forming around his hand before his long sword materialized. He immediately swung the sword in a wide circular motion. However, the attack missed all three of them.
Max and Lars felt a sense of relief. Kay Sung’s attack had passed just inches away from their positions.
Suddenly, Ryuken jumped into the air and raised his fist. Kay Sung sensed movement above him. He immediately jumped several steps backward, narrowly evading Ryuken’s attack.
THUMP!!
Ryuken’s fist slammed into the ground. He clicked his tongue in annoyance as he had been certain that his attack would hit.
’How did he avoid that? It’s impossible!’ Lars could not believe his eyes. He immediately equipped his spear. He planned to attack Kay Sung before the duration of their invisibility ended.
Max had the same thought. Both of them charged forward and swung their weapons at Kay Sung.
However, Kay Sung tilted his head slightly. Right now he wasn’t relying on his ears anymore. Instead, he was using another sense, the more sensitive one.
Tactile Motion.
He could perceive the slightest movements in the air that stimulated his skin. It was something Lars and the others hadn’t even realized yet. And by the time they did it was already too late.
Their movements caused slight disturbances in the air as their bodies moved against it. The resulting changes in airflow were what Kay Sung was analyzing right now.
Although he was born blind, he had mastered all his other senses to an unimaginable level. Suddenly, he raised his sword into the air. After pinpointing the possible locations of Lars and Max, he immediately dashed forward.
Ping!
Cling!
Lars’s spear and Max’s sword were deflected.
"What?!" Lars and Max shouted at the same time. It seemed Kay Sung was somehow able to detect them.
Suddenly, Ryuken appeared behind him and unleashed a powerful kick. Kay Sung turned his body slightly before raising his foot to block the attack.
All three of them couldn’t believe their eyes. Against this man, invisibility wasn’t even an advantage. Even though Clandestine Magi could conceal their presence and the sound of their movements, Kay Sung could still detect them.
"Lars! This is impossible! We need to retreat! Now, while your skill is still active," Max said.
There was no way they could defeat this guy once their invisibility wore off. Even while they were invisible, they couldn’t touch him. Lars clenched his teeth in frustration.
’Even Clandestine Magi can’t defeat him. If only I wasn’t injured, I could fight him at full strength.’
He had no other choice. Right now, the lives of two other people depended on his decision, not just his own.
"Let’s get out of here!" Lars finally said.
As disappointed as he was that he couldn’t save Celine, at least he would have another chance to find her later. Max nodded before immediately raising both hands together.
"Duality Slashes!"
Two massive waves of sword energy shot forward at incredible speed, tearing across the ground as they traveled toward Kay Sung.
Lars and the others used this opportunity to run. Ryuken hesitated for a moment, but he had no choice but to follow Lars’s order.
Kay Sung raised his sword with one hand and swung at the incoming slash waves. However, each attack was heavier than he expected, forcing him to use both hands to deflect them.
SWOOSH!!
Both slash waves were redirected, crashing into the other side of the club and shattering the wall. Kay Sung looked forward and tried to sense the whereabouts of the enemies. But it seemed they were already gone.

SCREECH!!
Max’s car sped away from the area. Lars and Ryuken kept looking backward, checking whether anyone was following them. After driving for some distance, they finally relaxed.
"Who is that guy? How can he detect us?" Ryuken asked.
"That is White Feathers, one of the strongest hunters in Black Maria. It seems I underestimated him. He is beyond the normal standards of humanity," Lars said while clutching his abdomen.
"Are you alright, Lars?"
"I’m fine...I just need some rest."
"Now, what’s our next plan?" Ryuken asked.
"Old Man Chou and Lee said that their main operations are mostly based in District 50. I believe if we search carefully, we can find some clues."
"But District 50 is huge, Lars. It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack," Max said.
Lars remained silent for a moment before looking out the window.
"Celine... where are you now?"

In one of the dark rooms, Celine was lying on a bed. She didn’t know where she was. The room she was in didn’t even have a
window.
She curled her knees toward her body and hugged them tightly.
"Lars..."
