Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Hunted
Inside the Mazeltov office, Ryuken was eating his food. Beside him were Zane, Aleph, and several other Mazeltov members. As Ryuken enjoyed his meal, Zane suddenly noticed the bandages wrapped around his knuckles.
"What happened to you?" she asked while raising her eyebrows.
"Oh, this? I... I was too worked up last night and trained too aggressively." Ryuken gave an awkward smile. He didn’t want Zane to know what he had actually been doing last night, or he would probably be beaten to death.
Zane stared at him for a moment before continuing with her task.
"This is your task for today. Go and raid the Darkpatch Swamp Dungeon about three times today. Here is the information regarding the dungeon," Aleph said as he passed the paper to Denis.
He was the one responsible for giving tasks to the hunters and receiving information from Emma before passing it on to the other hunters.
"There will only be four of us? Where are Vega and Sarah? And Quinn?" Oscar asked as he looked at Ryuken, Benn Strong, and Denis.
"Both of them went shopping for items for our office. There will be someone coming to visit our office, a potential investor, so we want to decorate the place a little. Quinn will stay behind to help with that," Zane explained.
"Yeah, I think that’s a good idea. Our office looks really shady and gloomy. It’s finally time to change that," Ryuken said casually as he bit into his sandwich.
"You better go now, or I will throw you out the window," Zane said, a vein bulging on her forehead.
Ryuken and the others immediately ran toward the door.
Zane then stood in front of the mirror and adjusted her hair and attire. The potential investor was someone from a mid-sized corporation who seemed interested in a small hunter company like theirs. They planned to visit the office to see how the company operated.
"I hope everything goes smoothly today," she said with a smile.

Inside the train station hallway, Sarah and Vega were walking side by side toward the exit. Sarah was holding a paper bag in one hand, while Vega was carrying a mountain of things and struggling to walk. They were on their way back to the office.
"Please hold it properly, Vega. Many of the things you brought are fragile," Sarah said to Vega.
"Don’t you think this is all a little excessive?" Vega asked.
"Nope. They’re all necessary. Miss Zane and I are planning to make the office look like a happy place for hunters to gather. I want to put a tree in the corner and decorate it with accessories and lights at the top. Then, I want to put many more accessories on the walls. Hehehe! I can’t wait!" Sarah giggled excitedly.
’What is this? A Christmas celebration? ’ Vega sighed.
Suddenly, Vega saw a white feather falling to the ground. Then, he sensed something in the air. A sensation he was very familiar with.
Killing intent.
Vega quickly looked toward Sarah, who was still excitedly talking, and saw a black-haired man wearing a white robe swinging his sword toward her from behind. Vega immediately threw everything in his hands aside and dashed toward Sarah.
"Hey, Vega! What are you doing?!" Sarah scolded him.
But Vega suddenly placed his hand on Sarah’s head and pushed her down while raising his dagger.
Ping!!
A spark erupted from the clash of metal as Vega’s eyes, hidden behind his mask, sharpened at the attacker.
"As expected from a former Shadowbane executioner, you have a good sense," Kay Sung said with a smile.
Sarah was shocked. Someone had approached her from behind, yet she hadn’t noticed him at all. She and Vega quickly jumped several steps away from Kay Sung.
Sarah then looked at all the things they had bought, which were now scattered across the floor. She felt sad seeing all of them broken.
"Who are you?!" Vega asked.
The person standing before him knew about his past as a former member of Shadowbane. That meant this person had studied him before coming here. And that could only mean one thing. They were being hunted.
But why?
"I will answer your question only if you can play with me a little longer. Let me taste the might of the once-feared assassin of Rahiel," Kay Sung said.
He raised his long sword into the air before dashing toward them. His movement was so smooth that it looked as if he were floating across the ground. Vega and Sarah then dashed forward to meet Kay Sung.
Both of them were the main damage dealers in their company and specialized in Assassin Classes.
Vega was currently equipped with the Uncommon Rank Phantom Magus, while Sarah was equipped with the Unique Rank Bladesinger.
Sarah grabbed the blades strapped to her hips and threw them toward Kay Sung. But Kay Sung easily evaded them.
However, the blades that had passed him suddenly changed their trajectory and flew back toward him from behind. This was the specialty of her Class, the ability to control blades. It made her incredibly deadly at both short and mid-range.
Kay Sung noticed the blade suddenly coming toward him and quickly swung his sword to deflect it. That moment of distraction was all Vega needed.
He immediately struck forward and slashed his dagger toward Kay Sung’s back. However, Kay Sung suddenly positioned his sword inward and thrust it backward between his arm and body.
Swoosh!
The sword pierced through Vega’s abdomen. However, Vega’s body suddenly turned into nothing. Kay Sung’s eyes widened.
"Shadow Burst!"
BOOM!!
An explosion erupted as Kay Sung was engulfed in dark energy.
Vega landed on the other side of the hallway. Several people who had witnessed the fight immediately took out their phones, wanting to record the battle. Sarah quickly shouted at them.
"Go away! This place is dangerous!"
From within the darkness, Kay Sung’s figure emerged. He looked completely unaffected by the attack, his white robe remaining as spotless as ever.
Vega remained calm as he stared at Kay Sung. He had already realized the limitation of his current Class.
’This enemy is strong. I need a stronger Class to fight him.’
