Chapter 160: Chapter 97: Young Master Chu Wei (2)

Young Master Chu Wei leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. "If you hand the flood dragon over to my Divine Flow Sect, True Form Temple will be handsomely rewarded. Have you thought it through, Fellow Daoist?"

Xu Zhuang said coolly, "There is nothing more to discuss."

Young Master Chu Wei chuckled. "Fine. It seems we can’t reach an agreement. After I return, I’ll have no choice but to report this truthfully."

Xu Zhuang nodded, completely unconcerned. Seeing him sitting there so brazenly, he asked, "Does Fellow Daoist have any other instructions?"

Young Master Chu Wei narrowed his eyes. "Your attitude is quite firm, Fellow Daoist. But of course, with a Golden Core cultivation base and the strength to move mountains, a man like you is bound to be supremely confident. This, however, puts me in a very difficult position."

Xu Zhuang just smiled faintly, raised his teacup for a sip, and said nothing in reply.

Young Master Chu Wei seemed not to mind. He suddenly changed the subject, "Since we can’t agree on official business, why don’t we discuss personal matters? That beauty you snatched from my grasp... I never even had a chance to touch her. Tell me, how did she feel?"

Xu Zhuang raised an eyebrow. "Fellow Daoist Chu, perhaps you should just say what’s on your mind."

Young Master Chu Wei chuckled. "I just never thought a Fellow Daoist like you would be interested in beautiful women. This is really... If you like beautiful women, you just had to say the word to me. I admire your Divine Techniques. Why would I care about a mere serving wench? I would have gladly presented her to you myself."

At this, his voice grew heavy, and his expression instantly darkened. He ground his teeth and said, "But you took matters into your own hands, snatching food right from under my nose. Aren’t you just trying to humiliate me?"

Xu Zhuang said flatly, "Oh? Then what does Fellow Daoist propose we do?"

"What should we do?" Young Master Chu Wei sneered. "Fine. Since you asked, I’ll give you a way out. I have no interest in your leftovers, but just knowing she’s alive makes me unhappy. Kill that serving wench, and I’ll pretend this never happened."

Without a hint of anger, Xu Zhuang simply shook his head. "I see no need to discuss this further."

Young Master Chu Wei sneered. "Oh! So Fellow Daoist Xu has now refused me twice."

Xu Zhuang gave a faint, unhurried smile. "I still have important matters to discuss with the Sect Leader. If Fellow Daoist has no other instructions, please see yourself out."

Young Master Chu Wei was taken aback. He seemed not to have expected Xu Zhuang to abruptly end the conversation and show him the door. He was so enraged that the muscles in his face began to twitch uncontrollably.

However, as arrogant as he was, he knew he couldn’t act out of line on True Form Temple’s territory. He gave a cold laugh and, with a BANG, slammed his hand on the table. He stood up and stormed out of the hall without another word, his two serving girls scrambling to follow.

Unexpectedly, Young Master Chu Wei walked faster and faster. By the time he was outside the hall, his eyes were bloodshot. Not waiting for his two maids, he let out a WHOOSH and rode a gust of yellow wind, streaking away from the True Form Temple.

The two maids hurriedly took out their Magical Artifacts and gave chase. Back in the Hall of Councilors, a worried look appeared in Daoist Zhang’s eyes. He sighed, "With this, we have now thoroughly offended the Divine Flow Sect."

Xu Zhuang asked, "Martial Nephew, do you feel I handled that improperly?"

Daoist Zhang quickly replied, "Martial Uncle, you misunderstand. Chu Wei’s demands were excessive and absolutely could not be accepted. It’s just that the Divine Flow Sect is immensely powerful. I was wondering if we could have feigned compliance."

Xu Zhuang shook his head. "Chu Wei came with ill intentions from the start. Since he didn’t get what he wanted, the outcome would have been the same no matter how we responded. Rather than worry, we should prepare for what’s next."

Daoist Zhang cupped his hands in assent. He then mused, "I wonder what sort of tricks the Divine Flow Sect will play."

Xu Zhuang smiled faintly. "Nothing more than a few underhanded tricks." He took a Dao Talisman from his sleeve and handed it to Daoist Zhang, instructing, "The next time Lieyun returns to the sect, Martial Nephew, give this talisman to his accompanying disciples. If anything unexpected happens, they just need to activate it, and I will know."

Meanwhile, Chu Wei rode the yellow wind straight out of the True Form Temple. Before long, he saw a Glazed Treasure Vehicle parked in the clouds, pulled by two winged horses. A burly, expressionless man sat on the driver’s box. Seeing Chu Wei approach, the man quickly straightened up and cupped his hands. "Young Master."

Chu Wei landed on the vehicle and waved his hand. "Go. Back to Fenglan Province," he commanded, then ducked into the carriage.

The large man saw the two maids flying toward them on their Magical Artifacts, their faces filled with terror. He asked, "Young Master, the two ladies..."

Chu Wei’s icy voice came through the carriage curtain. "I told you to go. Do you understand?"

A flicker of fear crossed the man’s eyes. "Yes," he said hurriedly. He sat down, flicked the reins lightly, and shouted, "Giddy-up!" The two winged horses let out a NEIGH and galloped off, their hooves treading on clouds.

Inside the treasure vehicle, the space was somewhat larger than it appeared from the outside. A silk couch was spread on the floor with a low table set upon it. Young Master Chu Wei had already sat down on the couch. Beside the table was another young man with a fair complexion, willow-leaf eyes, and no need for eyebrow paint, though he did have rouge on his face. Seeing Chu Wei’s face as dark as water, he offered a cup of clear wine and smiled. "Was the Young Master’s trip not very smooth?"

Chu Wei took the wine and drained it in one gulp. His gaze was glacial as he spat out two words through gritted teeth: "Xu Zhuang."

"Xu Zhuang?" The fair-skinned man mulled the name over but couldn’t place it. His eyes shifted as he asked, "Could he be the one who moves mountains and shifts peaks?"

Chu Wei gave a cold smile. "He’s also the one who stole the Jade Beauty from me."

"Oh?" The fair-skinned man’s expression was unreadable. "So it’s him. How has he offended the Young Master again?"

Chu Wei seemed to trust this man a great deal. With a sidelong glance, he recounted everything that had happened at the True Form Temple.

The fair-skinned man said impassively, "It seems the True Form Temple is indeed involved with the Dragon Image Sect. Otherwise, how would they dare to show such disrespect to the Young Master?"

Hearing this, the memory of Xu Zhuang’s nonchalant attitude resurfaced in Chu Wei’s mind. The anger that had just begun to subside flared up again. "So what if it’s the Dragon Image Sect?" he said hatefully. "They think they can oppose my Divine Flow Sect just by casually backing the True Form Temple? Do they think I can’t handle them?"

The fair-skinned man said, "It seems the Young Master already has a plan."

Chu Wei sneered. "Does True Form Temple think they can keep the flood dragon just because they don’t want to hand it over? I’ll just capture it myself. What can True Form Temple do about it?"

At this, Chu Wei clapped his hands and laughed loudly. "Yes! That’s exactly it. After I capture the flood dragon, I’ll lure that Xu Zhuang out and humiliate him ruthlessly. Only then will the hatred in my heart be appeased."

The fair-skinned man frowned. "That man seems to have a Top-grade Golden Core cultivation. Plus, he must have a treasure on him to be able to move mountains and shift peaks. I’m afraid he won’t be so easy to deal with."

Chu Wei said dismissively, "A Top-grade Golden Core is still just a Golden Core, isn’t it? One Golden Core Cultivator might not be able to handle him, but what about ten?"

The man’s expression changed slightly. "Deploying ten Golden Core Cultivators is no small matter. If the Dragon Image Sect finds out, won’t we be handing them leverage against us? Should we discuss this with the sect?"

Chu Wei waved his hand. "Do you take me for a fool? You think I’d get manpower directly from the sect?"

He pondered for a few moments, then said, "Those ’Three Elders and Four Freaks’ are always pestering me. This time, I’ll give them a chance to prove their loyalty."

The fair-skinned man praised, "The Young Master is brilliant."

These "Three Elders and Four Freaks" were all Golden Core Cultivators who occupied and cultivated in prefectures outside Fenglan Province. They had no intention of establishing their own sects and merely took in a few disciples to manage their domains. They were single-mindedly devoted to joining the Divine Flow Sect. Using them was not only risk-free, but if they failed, he wouldn’t even have to reward them.

"That makes seven. Does the Young Master have anyone else in mind?"

Chu Wei nodded. He took out a piece of paper, scribbled a few lines on it, and sneered, "What sort of joke is the Moyun Sect? They want to curry favor with me but aren’t willing to pay the price? Take this letter to the Moyun Sect later and order them to send at least three people."

The fair-skinned man laughed out loud, praising repeatedly, "The Young Master is brilliant."

Hearing the man’s flattery, a smug look appeared on Chu Wei’s face. He savored it for a moment, then a new thought struck him. "No, that won’t do. I still need to assign someone from the sect to coordinate things. Otherwise, these people won’t risk their lives."

He thought it over and over until his eyes lit up. He sneered, "That punk Song Yuming has disrespected me time and again. Does he think I can’t do anything about him? I’ll order him to handle this. If he succeeds, great. But if something goes wrong..."

Chu Wei’s gaze sharpened as he asked, "You know what to do."

The fair-skinned man understood completely. "I understand."
