“Heuup~” Plop! “Safe.”
After pulling his half-stuck body out from the sand, Yu Zhiye dusted off his body and looked back up at the blocky stairs leading down from his mountainside balcony loft.
That went down the mountainside until almost a full story high. That’s where his pickaxe got scrapped…
The rest of the way was a leap of faith.
“Lucky I dug my way down a bit. Otherwise… this body won’t have enough bones to break!”
Even with that perfect landing, he felt his leg muscles and bones aching.
“Ugh. What bad luck. I’m definitely buying extra pickaxes next time. Jumping like this… never again!”
After massaging his legs for a while, Yu Zhiye felt it was better and started headed back to the base.
It wasn’t a long walk. Even shorter than yesterday! Less than 15 minutes later, he was back!
Coincidentally, he bumped into his party that was about to head out early.
“Big… brother…?” Xiao Shuling rubbed her sleepy eyes like she was still trying to wake up from a dream.

Uncle Jack came to save the day! Yeah, you tell her!
“Fuu~” Miss Highschooler pouted but she still obediently let go of her big teddy bear.
Yu Zhiye fell to his knees like he got fished out from the eighteenth layer of hell! Safe!
“Bwahaha! Steve, I really haven’t seen many with a constitution as weak as yours!”
Jack reached out a hand to help and the kneeling man took it.
“Aight. It’s real good to see ya back, Steve. We were about to go search for ya, but guess we aren’t needed anymore! Bwahaha!”
It was the thought that counts. Yu Zhiye nodded gratefully. “Much appreciated for all the trouble, you two.”
“Bahaha, no trouble, no trouble at all! It’s what we should do!”
“Umu! Umu!”
The topic ended there. Nobody asked how he got out. Just like how he never asked what their superpowers were.
“Aight, the little missy and I are about to head back for another run. Steve, ya joining us?”
Another invitation, but the answer was obvious to all this time.
“It was fun and all, but me being there will only drag you two down.”
Yu Zhiye thought about it long and hard yesterday. Now, he set his business plan in action. “I’ve decided. Just let me be your logistics support from now on.”
“Logistics?” Both young and old showed the same confused faces.
“Uh huh. Don’t underestimate what a fisherman can fish up.”
At that, Yu Zhiye checked around to make sure the coast was clear. He then took out two emeralds from his inventory.
“Fuuu?! Big brother still has emeralds?!”
“Yep. I’ve been secretly saving these ever since fishing em out.” He then stuffed the emeralds into their hands. “Here, one each. Take it as thanks for covering my ass back there.”
Neither refused the gift and happily pocketed it. That’s survival funds, right there!
In any world, money talks! Everything was easy to talk about now.
“Well, I’ll be damned. Steve, ya shoulda told us sooner! We’ll never let a money tree like you take on any risks!”
“Umu! Umu! Big brother should’ve told little Ling’er!”
Yu Zhiye shrugged. “Thought it’ll be fun to keep a little surprise for the little miss.”
“Fuu?!” The little goblin pouted. “Eih! Why does everybody like keeping things from this miss?! This miss is not a child!”
“Bwahaha!”
After the small talk, they got down to discussing real business.
He got emeralds, but the smart knew they can’t be supplied for free.
“Aight, Steve. I wager your pockets are heavy enough. Tell us what ya want so we can help you carry some of those babies! Bwahaha!”
“Let’s keep things simple. I’ll go by the villager exchange prices for most. As for loot aside from that… just sell me whatever you don’t use. I can pay by the batches.”
“By the way, I won’t take sand, but I’m fine with cobblestone. 20 for an emerald, same as stone price. Sound good?”
“Damn good.” Jack firmly shook his hand. “We’ll take you up on that offer, Steve!”
Many details still needed to be fleshed out, but time will work its wonder.
Everybody was happy with this setting, especially after all the coal and an undamaged stone ax found a new home.
Jack chucked another emerald into his inventory and can’t wait to go earn more!
“Aight, we should get going. The mines got closer, but we shouldn’t waste time when there’s money to be made! Bwahaha!”
“Umu! Umu! Little Ling’er will earn many, many emeralds, and buy… slurp... so many apples! Ehehe~”
Seeing they were about to head out, Yu Zhiye remembered something.
“Oh right, almost forgot. Here, your torch. You’ll be needing it more than me.”
“Bahahaha… Almost forgot we dropped this baby!”
That’s what he said, but nobody will easily “forget” about “dropping” such an item!
Because this torch was actually a purple, epic-tier item!
According to his own system analysis, it was a nigh eternal source of light that can dispel darkness!
Once game logic translated to reality, some items really have beyond magical effects!
Alas, such a powerful magic item ultimately doesn’t belong to him.
Best to act upright and don’t leave any cracks in their relationship.
After the epic tool returned to its rightful owner, Yu Zhiye quickly dropped a reminder.
“By the way, I thought you two ought to know this. When I was finding my way out, I ran into a spider’s nest. Inside, there’s captives pregnant with spider babies. So…”
He solemnly warned them. “You two, don’t go too deep. There’s no need to risk yourselves. I’ll be much more happy if you two can come back safe and sound everyday.”
“Ehe So big brother is worried about little Ling’er”
“Nobody’s worrying about you. Go. Be safe!”
“Ehehe~”
“Aight! Steve, we’ll watch ourselves! You stay safe as well! Don’t let us come back and find you buried six feet under by those nasty fellas!”
“Eih! Uncle, don’t raise red flags for big brother!”
“Bwahaha!”
“Jack, that’s not funny!”
