“Hey, it’s really not possible to compare myself with the real cheaters.”
Yu Zhiye didn’t know what opportunity that anomaly had, but there’s really no need to compare himself to others.
Just stick with what he has. Take things slow and steady.
“Anyways, let’s check out how good these other new potions are…”
[Teacher Profession Potion]
Become an extraordinary creature that can spread knowledge.
“Well, that’s unexpectedly straightforward. But considering its cheap price… who knows if there’s a pit. Hey, maybe some Bumberg goddess is fishing upstairs? Haha.”
Next was the [Kitsune Transformation Potion]. That was even more straightforward. Basically change race to a fox spirit.
As for the [Corpse Demon Potion]? That was the eastern hopping version of a vampire.
Skip over the [Random Bloodline Potion]…
[Acolyte Potion]
Awaken your magus roots and enhance your spiritual force.
“Yep, basically the wizardry path. Might not be the popular and nostalgic Just Kidding Rolling in laughter fandom, but it shouldn’t be much worse.”
Definitely a broad avenue, just like the immortal cultivation path.
What came next on the list though was a much more risky option.
[Hollowfication Potion]
Bind with a special parasitic soul to break the boundaries.
“Now that’s something with super powerful evolutionary potential… but just like the zombie virus potion last time, the risk of turning into a mindless monster is real.”
As for the [Quirk Awakening Potion] entry that replaced the [Stand Awakening Potion] from last time?
Want to be a hero? This was basically the superpower awakening potion you’re looking for.
It’s just that… who knows if the awakened power will be something like navel laser…
Ahem. In short, it all depends on the person, just like awakening a fighting spirit.
When Yu Zhiye’s train of thought arrived here, an overall analysis wasn’t far away.
“Looking at the current pattern, the player, random bloodline, and random devil fruit potions should be default.”
“Then there will be randomized low-level race change potions, a self-cultivation potion, a risky evolution potion, an inner-self awakening potion, and a god-tier potion?”
The mysterious shopkeeper quietly sitting there didn’t react at all, but Yu Zhiye was pretty sure this was the case.
The veil on a mystery got torn away! Next week, he might be able to verify things.
As for this week… still can’t afford anything. Sad face!
Miss Wandering Trader took out the same contract shown to him last week, but Yu Zhiye once again ignored it and left.
Only an idiot will sell an infinite money printer!
Since there wasn’t much else he could do in this village, Yu Zhiye didn’t overstay and went off to find a fishing spot.
On his way out, he spotted Team Four-eyes stopped near the village entrance.
It wasn’t that they broke some rule and got trapped. What stopped them was… another player.
Yu Zhiye happened to also recognize this person! It was Han Duri—the Mob Character C that got trapped in the village last week!
“Huh? He actually survived an entire week in this creepy village?”
Was the village actually not as dangerous as he thought? No… it can’t be.
There must be something wrong! Unfortunately… Yu Zhiye just can’t quite put his finger on it.
“Bleh. Whatever. Not my problem. Just stay away from this mess and let others deal with it.”
If the sky falls, there will be a tall man to hold it up.
Maybe that’s why that Anomaly A was still lingering around at the base today…
If everything really goes by novel logic, then where the protagonist stays, there will definitely be trouble!
However, Yu Zhiye pretended not to notice and just went about his business.
“Hey, let’s warn the other three and find a spot a little farther away from the base today…”
The fisherman was gone like the wind, and the teenager observing him stopped caring. His attention turned back to the returner trying to prove himself to the gang.
That was one of his goals this trip back. To be more specific, it was his hunting target!
Why? Because he, Song Jinwoo, was a reincarnator—the so-called returner from the future!
And that returner surnamed Han was the reason why their base got destroyed early on in the previous life!
Of course, he wasn’t a saint that cared about the well-being of those clowns making this place their own.
What he’s after was something more precious that was worth his time.
These past weeks, he capitalized on his future knowledge to power up like crazy.
Now, even hunting an elite boss posed little issue, let alone this rare target.
Truth be told, he would’ve preferred to hunt that returner inside the village before it even gets a chance to reconnect with these clowns, but…
There was a rule against harming any creatures that belonged to that wandering village.
Hence, waiting for the prey to come out on its own was the only way.
But in this case, he must make sure to leave no loopholes for these clowns to jump around and mess things up.
His first step? Get rid of a few variables by alerting the owner of the Monster Codex.
That wasn’t hard to do.
“...I managed to break into a house and hid in there every night.”
“And you survived a week in this crappy village? I call bullshit!”
“Indeed, Mr. Han, how do you expect us to believe you…”
The interrogation trailed off because as soon as Song Jinwoo approached, everybody in that gang became wary.
Yet he ignored all the unimportant characters and looked at the fatso. “I want to talk to you. Alone.”
Once that verdict came down, sweat immediately broke out on Kim Sungho’s forehead. Why does this murderous god want to talk to him?! Did he do something to offend the man?!
Too bad, nobody could stop the badass, even if they stand united.
Not that they wanted to. Except the baldie, the four-eyes and the other two were inwardly happy to watch the show!
In the end, the baldie was allowed to tag along as a guard and Kim Sungho had a little meeting with the young man he didn’t even know the name of.
“Ohoho, this… my friend… is there anything I can help you with?”
Song Jinwoo felt disgusted just looking at this cowardly fatty for another second, but he didn’t put on airs and simply said what he wanted to say.
“You should go use your Monsterpedia and check on that person.”
Huh? Kim Sungho was in for a shock. How did this young man know his ability? Outside their circle, nobody should know!
But he knew there was no point digging in this direction. Instead, his smart mind immediately felt something was wrong.
“That… my friend… I don’t know if you know this, but my ability doesn’t work on other players…”
But Song Jinwoo simply gave him that death stare. “Use it and you’ll know.”
Once that was said, Song Jinwoo didn’t stay for a second longer and left to get ready for the hunt.
Left behind, Kim Sungho was confused, but… he wasn’t so foolish to ignore the warning from a badass character.
He summoned his Monsterpedia, signaled his baldie brother to follow him, and acted like nothing was wrong the whole way back.
“Hmm?” The four-eyes was the first to call out. “Manager Kim, what did that person want with you?”
“Ohoho, nothing, nothing, he just wanted to ask about the weaknesses of the spiders we encountered. Since it wasn’t much, I simply showed him.”
Feeling that a new page got successfully recorded in his codex, Kim Sungho casually put it away and did his best to keep a straight face.
“Ohoho… that guy really gave me a scare. I think I need to use the restroom now. Be right back. Let’s go Brother Tae.”
Though Kwan Minhwoo felt there was something wrong with the fatso, he didn’t stop him.
Soon, those two returned to the base. There, Kim Sungho quickly took out his Monsterpedia and flipped through the pages.
The moment he saw the new monster index, his face turned pale!
