Deviant Kings: Claimed by The Four Lycan Kings
Chapter 51: "Then Die, Adeline"Adeline’s pov~
Lucas scoffed, a harsh, cutting sound that sliced straight through my ribs.
"You want us to carry this pathetic, dragging chain around our necks for months while the rest of the High Concord watches us? Every single second we spend tied to your defective soul is an insult to our standing. We aren’t waiting another month, Adeline. We aren’t waiting another hour."
"No," Logan growled, his voice dropping into that deep, terrifying register of an absolute Alpha Command—a force so absolute it made my very bones vibrate in terror.
"We want it severed. Tonight. Right now. Right here, on this floor."
Horror, icy and absolute, seized my throat, choking off my air entirely.
My blood ran like freezing acid through my veins as my knees gave out completely, slamming hard onto the freezing marble floor.
I looked up at them through a blur of scalding tears, clutching both hands over my chest as if I could physically hold the fraying golden threads of our bond together.
"No, no, please, I’m begging you!" I screamed, the sound tearing my throat raw.
"Don’t do it like this! Don’t reject me together! My soul... my physical body can’t take two Alpha rejections at once! Without a proper wolf to absorb the shock, a double rejection will tear my heart out! It’ll rupture my chest! I’ll die... I will literally die right in front of you!"
Lucas knelt down directly in front of me, grabbing my chin in a grip of iron, forcing my tear-streaked face up until his cold, golden eyes were inches from mine. His breath was warm, but his gaze reflected nothing—no pity, no regret, only absolute, hollow apathy.
"Then die, Adeline," he whispered, his thumb pressing hard against my lower lip. "Because we are cutting this link right now..."
"And we don’t care," Logan added from above us, his voice merging seamlessly with his twin’s in a lethal, synchronised decree that shattered the night air, "if you survive the night, or if we leave your corpse to rot on this marble floor."
"Lucas, Logan---"
Before the last desperate plea could drag itself past my bleeding, raw lips, a sound sliced through the suffocating tension in the room.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Slow, rhythmic, and terrifyingly sweet, the clapping echoed from the arched shadow of the grand drawing room entryway.
Chloe stepped fully out into the warm chandelier light. Her golden hair fell in flawless waves over her shoulders, her pristine silk gown whisper-quiet as it brushed against the marble floor.
Her lips were curved into a bright, dazzling smile—the kind of smile that looked exquisite from afar, until you saw the absolute, frozen cruelty in her gleaming, calculating eyes.
The moment she appeared, the air in the room violently shifted.
The suffocating, lethal aura radiating off Lucas and Logan—the terrifying weight that had been crushing my lungs only a second ago—evaporated into nothingness.
The ruthless snarls carved into their handsome features dissolved instantly, replaced by expressions of helpless, quiet reverence and deep, possessive admiration.
They turned toward her as if she were the sun and they were starved of light, their golden Alpha eyes softening into something sickeningly gentle.
"Oh, just look at you, Adeline," Chloe purred, gliding effortlessly right into the narrow space between the twins.
She didn’t even look at me at first; she reached up, her manicured fingers slowly trailing down Logan’s broad shoulder, feeling the hard muscle beneath his jacket, before letting her other hand slide seamlessly into Lucas’s waiting, eager palm.
Lucas closed his fingers around hers instantly, bringing her hand to his lips for a soft, reverent kiss that made my stomach heave.
"Kneeling on the freezing floor, weeping like a pathetic stray dog for a single scrap of mercy," Chloe continued, her voice dripping with artificial sympathy as she finally lowered her gaze to meet mine.
"It’s almost pitiful, really. I mean, look at her, boys. She’s practically shaking herself to pieces over a bond that was a mistake from the very beginning. Are you really going to let her turn our family’s estate into a dramatic tragedy?"
"Chloe, sweetheart, go back upstairs," Logan murmured softly, his voice dropping into a register
I had never, in all my years of living in this house, heard him use it for anyone else.
There was no Alpha Command in his tone.
No harsh edge. Just pure, protective warmth.
Nothing’s new.
"You don’t need to stand here and breathe in this garbage. We told you we’d handle the trash before midnight."
"Handle her?" Chloe let out a delicate, musical chuckle, tilting her head as she leaned her body lightly against Lucas’s chest.
"Oh, Logan, but it’s so much more entertaining down here. I wanted to see it with my own eyes. I wanted to see if the girl who used to clean my shoes actually had the nerve to think she could wear a Luna’s crown alongside the two most powerful Alphas in the territory."
She stepped forward, slipping out of the twins’ grasp just enough to hover right over where I knelt on the marble floor. She looked down at me like I was something sticky she had accidentally stepped on.
"Did you really believe it, Adeline?" Chloe asked, her voice dropping into a razor-sharp whisper that carried across the high, vaulted ceiling.
"Did you actually wake up tonight, feel that tiny, pathetic flicker of a bond, and run straight to them thinking you were going to be saved? Did you really think they would ever choose a scentless, broken defect over the legacy of this pack? You aren’t a mate to them. You’re a curse. A cruel, hilarious joke played by the Moon Goddess."
"Shut up..." I choked out, my hands digging into the cold marble until my knuckles turned ghost-white.
My chest felt like it was caving in, the golden threads of the double bond pulling violently against my heart, threatening to snap my mind in two. "Just... shut up, Chloe."
"Make me," Chloe smirked, her eyes flashing with pure malice as she took half a step closer.
