Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 624 - 619: Calm and CollectedChapter 624: Chapter 619: Calm and Collected
Elias Yates was the first friend Amelia Avery made here.
Back then, after what happened between her and Cassian Jennings, she fled abroad.
She was in a terrible state, and "self-destructive" became her new label. She made more than a few enemies at the academy.
She spent her days clubbing, fighting, skipping class, and gambling at cards.
She never knew who exactly she’d offended, but she was lured into an alley outside the school. A group of boys and girls surrounded her, trapping her there, ready to beat her up.
That was when Elias Yates happened to be passing by and saved her.
Elias’s reasons for saving her were simple. First, they were from the same country. Second, she was the only person he found tolerable.
You could say she and Elias were two peas in a pod. They quickly started hanging out, and he was the one who helped her slowly find herself again during those self-destructive days.
When Amelia didn’t say anything for a long time, Elias’s face darkened. "I’m marrying Nancy Thorne in a few days," he said, his voice cold and impatient. "So, during this time, don’t let me see that heartbreaker. I can’t guarantee I won’t kill someone before my own wedding."
"I know," Amelia replied flatly, glaring at him.
"Get out. Nancy is still inside waiting for you."
"Okay." Amelia reined in her emotions, opened the car door, and got out.
Elias followed right behind her.
After they entered the restaurant, someone immediately came to greet them. A waitress led them to the last private room at the back before leaving.
Pushing the door open, they saw a very sweet-looking woman sitting cross-legged on the wooden floor.
She looked up, and upon seeing Elias, she smiled sweetly and called out, "Elias, you’re here." Then, she turned to Amelia. "Amelia, you’re here too."
Elias didn’t respond. With a cold, somber look in his eyes, he walked over, took off his jacket, and sat down formally.
"Mm." Amelia wasn’t any more enthusiastic. She responded coolly and sat down across from Elias.
Nancy poured a cup of tea for each of them. She handed the first cup to Elias, then the next to Amelia.
"Amelia, what are weddings like where you’re from?"
"Honestly, the basic procedures are pretty much the same," Amelia said with a low chuckle, taking a sip of her tea.
"Oh? I’m still quite curious."
"Nancy, I came today not just to see you and Elias, but also to tell you I’m sorry. I probably won’t be able to attend your wedding."
"Why?" Elias didn’t seem particularly shocked or surprised, but Nancy immediately looked upset and hurt.
Amelia gave an apologetic nod and smile. "Because my brother is getting married, so I have to go back."
"That’s such a shame."
For the most part, they just made small talk. After about half an hour, Nancy’s family came to pick her up.
Afterwards, Elias drove her home.
Before she could get out of the car, Elias grabbed her arm tightly. "Your brother getting married is just an excuse, isn’t it?" he demanded coldly.
"If you already know, why are you asking?"
"So, you’re going back to protect your old flame?" Elias’s eyes were so fierce they could have pierced right through Amelia.
"That’s none of your business." Amelia angrily wrenched her arm free from his grasp, threw open the car door, and slammed it shut behind her.
Watching her figure quickly disappear from sight, Elias gripped the steering wheel so tightly he looked like he wanted to rip it off.
’He didn’t understand why he was feeling this way. Just as he didn’t understand why he’d been perfectly fine with setting Amelia up on dates before, but the moment that Cassian Jennings appeared, he would get furious.’
’Maybe it really is just as he thought. He just doesn’t like that heartbreaker. Since he wronged Amelia, he has no right to show his face again!’

Sanyue 98.
It was a very popular bar run by Chinese expats.
The staff there were all from their home country as well.
The reason it was called Sanyue 98 was because the owner’s name was Sanyue, and 98 stood for September 8th.
It was rumored to be the owner’s birthday.
The owner was a young, beautiful woman.
Cassian Jennings had been coming here for drinks quite often during his time here, so naturally, the owner knew who he was.
When she saw Cassian walk in with Leo Joyce, she still froze for a moment.
