Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 631 - 623: Unspoken SufferingChapter 631: Chapter 623: Unspoken Suffering
Ian Shaw held a cigarette between his fingers, his eyes narrowed as he asked with a smile, "Are you planning on grooming him to take over the company?"
"Yeah. My wife and I are getting old. It’s time we stepped down and took a break."
Hearing this, Cassian Jennings, who was in the middle of a drink, spat it out with a PFFT. He stared at Tristan Grayson’s infuriatingly handsome face, the spot between his brows twitching uncontrollably.
’Tristan Grayson was only a few months older than him, and he was already saying he was old? Time to step down and take a break?’
’God knew, he had just psyched himself up to get serious about his career.’
’Or maybe it was because the girl he liked was so young. That would explain why he couldn’t stand hearing people—especially those his own age—call themselves old.’
Seeing Cassian Jennings’s strong reaction, Aiden Avery looked down and sneered. "We really are old. When we were Quincy’s age, we’d already taken over our companies."
Those words were like rubbing salt in the wound regarding Cassian’s age, leaving him suffering in silence.
He casually reached for another bottle of beer, pretending to be unfazed, and continued to chug it down.
’I’ve already decided to forget her, so I shouldn’t let these words get to me.’
Just then, the phone in Aiden Avery’s pocket started ringing. He glanced around the room and saw that everyone was looking at him. His brow furrowed slightly as he pulled out his phone. Seeing it was a call from his family’s landline, he hesitated for a few seconds before finally answering.
"Brother, you’re not home?" A woman’s voice came through the moment the call connected.
Aiden Avery was clearly stunned by the voice. He blurted out before he could even think, "Amelia! You’re back?"
Hearing her name, Cassian Jennings froze mid-drink. His hand tightened around the beer bottle, his cold eyes fixed on Aiden Avery, unblinking.
Aiden Avery knew he’d made a mistake. He cleared his throat a couple of times, then stood up and headed out of the private room.
The moment Aiden Avery was out of the room, Ian Shaw angrily kicked the coffee table. "That little ancestor of the Avery family really is a damn lingering ghost!"
"Don’t talk nonsense!" Tristan Grayson snapped, shooting him a glare as sharp as a knife.
Ian Shaw retorted impatiently, "How is that nonsense?" He then whipped his head around to bark at Cassian, "Cassian, I’m warning you! Don’t you dare even think about getting involved with that little ancestor again."
Cassian didn’t answer. In his mind, whether or not he got involved with her really wasn’t up to him.
’He could choose not to take the initiative, but he couldn’t control his heart.’
’Now that he knew she was back, he couldn’t sit still for a second longer.’
’He was dying to see her right this instant.’
’But he also knew that if he went to see her, she would just leave again.’
After a good while, Aiden Avery returned.
The atmosphere in the private room, however, had become oppressive.
Tristan Grayson, thinking of his wife and son at home, decided to leave first. Aiden Avery quickly followed suit.
Soon, only Ian Shaw and Cassian Jennings remained.
Ian Shaw watched Cassian sit there in silence, sullenly downing drink after drink. The anger in his eyes deepened. He pulled out his phone and made a call. Less than three minutes later, there was a knock at the door.
The door opened, and a dozen or so scantily clad women filed into the private room.
The women made themselves right at home, each finding a spot on the sofa.
Cassian was squeezed in the middle of them all, but he didn’t get angry. He didn’t even try to push them away, simply letting the women grope him all over.
