Chapter 689: Chapter 681: Let’s Make Up

After Leo Joyce’s outburst, Tiana Grayson froze completely. She stared dazedly at him, her eyes red, the gulf between them so vast it felt as if she were meeting him for the very first time.

Leo Joyce knew his emotions had spiraled out of control again, but he just couldn’t help himself. He couldn’t stand her treating him like a stranger; he couldn’t stand the thought of her walking away from him again.

’Whatever I did wrong, I’ll fix it. As long as she’ll stay... as long as she’ll still love me.’

"Tiana..." He walked over to Tiana Grayson and, once in front of her, knelt down. He cupped her face in his hands, his voice gentle and pleading. "Tiana, tell me, what did I do wrong? Where did I mess up? Please, just tell me. If you tell me, I’ll change. I’ll keep changing until you’re satisfied, okay? No matter what, I’m begging you—don’t ignore me. Don’t stop loving me."

Seeing Leo Joyce like this, she found it hard to be cruel. But then she remembered this was all an act, all lies, and she angrily yanked his hands away. "Leo Joyce, do you have to make yourself sound so pathetic? You’re seeing another woman while still trying to keep me tangled up in your life. Leo Joyce, what kind of person do you take me for?!"

At her words, Leo Joyce’s body trembled slightly, and a flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes. "Another woman? There is no other woman. Tiana, are you talking about Amelia? I can explain. There’s nothing going on between Amelia and me."

Tiana Grayson stood up defiantly. "Enough. I don’t want to know what your relationship is."

Leo Joyce said urgently, his expression tense, "Tiana, you just got back. There’s a lot you don’t know. Amelia Avery is already married. She and Cassian Jennings have been married for a long time."

"Married?"

"Yes. So, there’s nothing between Amelia and me. No, wait—even if Amelia and Cassian Jennings weren’t married, she and I are just friends, nothing more. As for what you saw last night, me drinking with Amelia Avery... I can explain that too."

Tiana looked at Leo Joyce uneasily, unsure whether she should believe him.

"When Amelia... when she came, I was already drunk, completely out of it. But when I woke up, an employee on duty at Siren gave me this." As he spoke, Leo Joyce pulled a piece of paper from his pocket.

Tiana Grayson wiped her tears and looked at the paper in his hand. "What is this?" she asked, her voice thick with sobs.

"I think this is probably why Amelia showed up at Siren in the middle of the night." Leo Joyce’s expression was complex, and his voice was even deeper than before.

With a trembling hand, Tiana Grayson took the paper and unfolded the small square. It was a medical report. The words at the very bottom were staggering.

Watching Tiana Grayson cry in silence, Leo Joyce’s heart ached. He stepped forward and pulled her tightly into his arms. "Tiana, please believe me. I have never done anything to wrong you. My heart has only ever belonged to you. From the moment we first met, I was destined to fall in love with you, and you were destined to be mine."

Tiana Grayson was crying so hard she could barely breathe. Through her sobs, she whispered his name, "Leo..."

"Tiana, let’s not fight anymore. Let’s make up," Leo Joyce said, holding her tightly and soaking in her warmth.
