"One more thing," Xiong Jiaojiao began, "it’s about preparing the materials for that pouch."

As she spoke, her face was a mask of utter exhaustion and relief. The simple reason was that preparing it was incredibly tedious, so much so that Cheng Miao was always sending her off to find all sorts of bizarre herbs.

"All the materials we could find for it have been gathered, and I even had people start cultivating them. We just need the final blood to act as the medicinal catalyst."

"Excellent. I’ll set out to find it once the tribe’s competition is over."

After all, she and Jiang Li were the only ones who could find the Beast God. No one else could take their place.

"But, Sister Liangyu, you also promised to teach them the Body Technique. You can’t be in two places at once."

Xiong Jiaojiao hesitated, wanting to say more, but held back. Finally, she spoke up. "Besides, we can’t exactly split you in two. Why don’t you let me teach them instead?"

Xiong Jiaojiao was already teaching a considerable number of students. If she had to take on Chu Liangyu’s group of cubs—a group even larger than her own—she’d probably work herself to death.

"That would certainly make things easier for me," Chu Liangyu said, the corner of her lips twitching into a smirk. "But you... can you guarantee I’ll come back to find them still alive?"

The expression on Xiong Jiaojiao’s face stiffened, and her tone grew uncertain. "Perhaps... I could train my own assistants to help share the burden."

"That’s not a bad idea, but I gave my word that I would teach them, and I can’t go back on it." Chu Liangyu patted her on the shoulder. "Go ahead and do as you said. Train some capable assistants. I’ll have tasks for them when I return."

"Sister Liangyu, this isn’t just some spur-of-the-moment idea, is it?"

Xiong Jiaojiao hadn’t expected Chu Liangyu to arrange her next task in the span of a few sentences. Though she felt a sense of resignation, her tone held little surprise.

Perhaps from spending so much time by her side, Xiong Jiaojiao subconsciously felt there was more to this than met the eye. She just didn’t know what the purpose was in training those capable females.

"That’s a secret for now."

Xiong Jiaojiao tutted but didn’t press the issue. Instead, she asked curiously, "But Sister Liangyu, how are you going to handle two things at once?"

"Anyone else might truly find it impossible to be in two places at once. But in my case, I have the Magic to create a double."

There are many ways to create a doppelgänger. Ye Han and Jiang Li used different methods, but when you got right down to it, they all involved splitting off half of their own power to create the double.

The more energy invested, the more powerful the double, and the greater the chance it would develop its own consciousness. Chi Yizhong was a prime example—he was for all intents and purposes an independent person, though some unseen parts of him were still controlled by his creator.

While it might seem like the cost outweighs the gain, the benefits are proportional. Not only can you draw upon the energy your double cultivates, but simply having it appear at a critical moment to take a blow for you is a value that far exceeds the initial effort.

Achieving a result like theirs would take a long time, which clearly wasn’t the best option for Chu Liangyu. With that in mind, she thought of another, much faster way to create a double.

She pulled her waist-length, ink-black hair forward. Then, a surge of black energy gathered at her fingertips. With a single, light slice, half of her long hair fell into her palm.

Hair might not seem like a big deal, but Chu Liangyu’s was exceptionally smooth—it was no exaggeration to call it satin-like. A gentle breeze would only add to its light, ethereal grace.

Yet now she had lopped off a huge chunk of it. Chu Liangyu herself didn’t seem to mind, but Xiong Jiaojiao, watching from the side, looked heartbroken.

"Sister Liangyu, don’t cut so much! It won’t look good!"

Xiong Jiaojiao couldn’t resist reaching out to stop Chu Liangyu.

Chu Liangyu paused, blinked, and then let out a soft laugh. "It’s all right. It’s only hair. It’ll grow back before long."

"Of course I know it will grow back, but it won’t look good if you cut off too much!" Xiong Jiaojiao gripped her hand tightly, her expression one of grim determination. "Why don’t you forget about making a double? I’ll teach them for you! I promise I’ll be even more diligent than I am with the other females! If it really gets to be too much, we’ll just give them a few days off to practice on their own!"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Chu Liangyu brushed her hand away, her tone exasperated. "This is enough. I wasn’t planning on cutting any more."

Ignoring Xiong Jiaojiao’s slightly embarrassed expression, Chu Liangyu forced out a drop of blood essence onto the hair. She murmured a few quiet words, and with a flick of her elegant hand, the strands floated into the air like a sky full of black silk threads before drifting down.

Before the hair could touch the ground, a sudden gust of wind swept it up, creating a vortex like a small tornado. Faintly, a scarlet light could be seen flickering and dancing within.

Xiong Jiaojiao watched, wide-eyed, as the hair first took on a basic human form, then grew flesh, blood, and facial features. When it all subsided, a stunning beauty stood before them.

The beauty’s face was a perfect copy of Chu Liangyu’s, lifelike down to the smallest detail. But her eyes remained closed, making her resemble a lifeless doll.

Xiong Jiaojiao reached out to touch the double’s cheek and found its temperature was the same as a normal person’s. She couldn’t help but exclaim, "This is incredible!"

"But... why won’t she open her eyes?"

Chu Liangyu raised a hand and pressed it to the double’s forehead. A moment later, the double opened her eyes and even blinked twice at them.

"Quick, Sister Liangyu, make her say something!"

Xiong Jiaojiao’s eyes were filled with wonder, as if she were witnessing a miracle.

"She has no consciousness of her own," Chu Liangyu explained. "All her actions and words are controlled by me."

As she spoke, Chu Liangyu made the double nod. "While I won’t be able to handle things personally, I can see what’s happening through her eyes. So, controlling her to manage things will produce the same result."

"Other than you, as long as I say nothing, no one should be able to tell she isn’t the real me."

Xiong Jiaojiao nodded in complete agreement. "You’re right. So, Sister Liangyu, when are you leaving? Are you going to tell your Beast Husbands about this?"

"There’s no need to tell them. Now that the double is ready, I’m going to leave." Chu Liangyu paused, then added, "After all, the sooner I leave, the sooner I’ll be back. Best to avoid any unexpected complications."

"So soon!" Xiong Jiaojiao was taken aback, but her surprise quickly turned to reluctance. "Then how long will you be gone this time, Sister Liangyu?"

Chu Liangyu wasn’t entirely sure of the specific timeframe. After a quick mental calculation, she answered, "Three months at most, one month at least."
