"Female Master, are you coming with us, or will you wait here for us to return?"

Chu Liangyu had planned to go with them, taking the opportunity to see the legendary Heart of the Ocean.

But before she could speak, the panel for the Trading System suddenly appeared with a message from the World Spirit.

He asked her to give him a call when it was convenient—a video call, just like last time.

Chu Liangyu was puzzled, but with others around, she couldn’t let it show.

"You two go on ahead. I’ll wait here."

The two didn’t suspect a thing. Chi Yizhong thought for a moment, then said, "We should be back in about three days. If you get tired of waiting, feel free to head back first."

"Alright, I understand."

She watched them leave until their figures disappeared completely from sight.

Only then did she summon the panel. "How did you sense I was in the ocean this time?"

"I didn’t sense you, but your enemy. I can feel him approaching on my end."

The vibrant, youthful boy appeared, his tone serious and his expression grave.

His composure, so at odds with his appearance, made Chu Liangyu’s expression turn serious as well. "So, that person is here to hunt me down? Is it the one in the black cloak from last time?"

"That’s right. So, hurry over to me. I’ve found what you left behind."

"Come quickly, and I’ll return it to you."

The World Spirit didn’t say what it was, and Chu Liangyu didn’t ask. Her intuition told her it was extremely important.

"Okay, I’m on my way."

The call ended. Following the guidance of the Trading System, she swam rapidly toward the palace.

Snow fell in a flurry above the surface, but the water below was placid. It was a tranquility that felt like the calm before the storm.

Chu Liangyu was incredibly fast. Her green mermaid tail moved like a streak of light, a beautiful and fleeting flash that could have been an illusion.

Soon, the familiar palace appeared before her.

The palace, built from jade, radiated a multicolored glow, just as it had when she first saw it.

If Chu Liangyu hadn’t been here before, she would have certainly thought it held countless treasures inside.

But she already knew the layout. Facing one bare room after another, Chu Liangyu’s expression remained neutral as she headed straight for the World Spirit.

"I’m here."

The Barrier blocked her way, so Chu Liangyu couldn’t get in. She could only call out from outside for him to show himself.

The World Spirit had clearly been waiting. The instant she finished speaking, the boy’s face appeared before her.

They hadn’t seen each other in a while, and seeing him again gave Chu Liangyu the strange feeling that a lifetime had passed.

They hadn’t spent much time together, yet she felt a natural trust in this World Spirit.

"How are you going to give the item to me?"

The Barrier blocked not only people, but all objects as well.

The World Spirit froze. In his haste to call her over, he’d completely forgotten about that.

"Uh, let me think about it."

"No need. She won’t live to see it."

An arrogant voice, filled with the certainty of victory, rang out, and both Chu Liangyu and the World Spirit stiffened.

Despite only having met him once, Chu Liangyu recognized the voice. It belonged to the man who was trying to kill her.

’I just didn’t expect him to get here so fast.’

Chu Liangyu recovered quickly, subtly exchanging a glance with the World Spirit.

His expression was equally grave. He gave a slight shake of his head and quickly mouthed a single word: "Run!"

Chu Liangyu understood instantly. Forgetting about the item the World Spirit had for her, she began swimming for her life toward the surface.

Underwater, the trident only kept her from drowning, leaving the bronze short knife as her sole means of attack.

If they clashed now, she wouldn’t even know how she died.

On the surface, however, she could use her wings.

The trident would be freed up to be used as a weapon. Her odds of victory were much, much higher than they were in the ocean.

"Hah. You think you can escape this time?"

"Let’s settle all our scores, new and old. Your luck can’t last forever. This time, you will die!"

A red light flashed in Ye Han’s eyes as he locked onto the green figure up ahead.

The Black Sword appeared by his side without warning. Ye Han gripped its hilt and swept it directly toward the fleeing figure.

Even underwater, the Sword Qi was unstoppable.

Every hair on Chu Liangyu’s body stood on end, and alarm bells screamed in her mind.

She didn’t look back, instead veering in the opposite direction of the Sword Qi’s path.

Fortunately, Chu Liangyu reacted quickly enough to narrowly dodge the attack.

The maneuver slowed her down, but she couldn’t afford to worry about that.

After dodging the attack, she continued her desperate rush toward the surface.

"Lost your nerve now that no one’s here to help?"

Ye Han watched her pathetic flight, his eyes filled with contempt.

He began to wonder if he had the wrong person. She was a far cry from her former self.

But he failed to consider that dignity is a luxury afforded by strength.

Right now, she was struggling just to stay alive.

His words naturally reached Chu Liangyu’s ears. Like anyone else, she was not pleased to hear them.

’It’s impossible to escape this pursuit just by running. My only choice is to fight.’

Her opponent was incredibly powerful, yet Chu Liangyu felt not a trace of fear. Instead, she was a little excited.

’I want to see for myself... just what are the limits of my power, now that I can summon my wings at will.’

After dodging a constant barrage of Sword Qi, she finally broke through the surface of the ocean.

Her body was inevitably cut and scraped, but she seemed not to feel a thing.

She burst from the water first. In an instant, her mermaid tail vanished, replaced by a pair of enormous black wings.

Her wings seemed to blot out half the sky, casting a vast swathe of the ocean below into shadow.

From below the water, Ye Han took in the scene.

He was stunned by her transformation. ’In this form... could it be she’s already recovered her memories?’

A new layer of wariness settled in his heart, but his thirst for revenge was undiminished.

"To think that after only a few days, you can already control your beast form with such skill."

Ye Han leaped from the water close behind her, unfurling a pair of white wings no smaller than Chu Liangyu’s.

Perhaps because he was certain of victory, so sure that Chu Liangyu was about to die, he hadn’t bothered to wear the black cloak that concealed his identity.

Chu Liangyu had never seen his true face, but the single glimpse she’d gotten of the lower half was enough to confirm his identity.

"And? Are you ready to die?"

Clutching her trident tightly, Chu Liangyu didn’t even wait for him to finish speaking. She swung the trident, using the ocean itself to attack him.

Instantly, countless Water Swords erupted from the ocean’s surface, flying toward Ye Han as if to riddle him with holes.

Ye Han was fearless. His enormous white wings instantly enveloped him, blocking every single attack.

They didn’t leave a single scratch.

Having crossed blades with him once before, Chu Liangyu knew this move alone wouldn’t be enough to defeat him.

Before her first attack had even concluded, she was already closing in on Ye Han.

Her bronze short knife stabbed viciously toward the bones of his wing. CRACK! The clean, sharp sound of breaking bone rang out.

A triumphant glint appeared in Chu Liangyu’s eyes. She didn’t press the attack, instead retreating swiftly to avoid his counterattack.
