"Feed this to him, and then take one yourself."

Yu Chu took it with trembling hands and asked, "Beast Mother, what is this?"

"It’s something that will keep you from feeling the cold. Hurry up and eat. Stop wasting time."

"Oh."

He struggled to shake one out, pried open Yu Jin’s mouth, and stuffed the object inside.

He whispered, "Eat this, and you won’t be cold anymore."

Yu Jin’s eyelashes fluttered, and he obediently swallowed the elixir.

Yu Chu’s body temperature had plummeted from warming the other boy. While he wasn’t as bad off as Yu Jin, he was still miserable.

He couldn’t wait to take one himself. Instantly, a warmth like soaking in a hot spring spread through his entire body, and his stiff, frozen limbs slowly regained feeling.

"How is it?"

Seeing that the two little ones hadn’t moved for a while, Chu Liangyu wondered, ’Is this stuff useless?’

"I feel much better, and my whole body is warm."

"Me too."

Yu Jin stood up and stretched his stiff limbs. After speaking, he looked up.

Only then did he realize that Chu Liangyu had been sheltering them with her own wings. That was why he hadn’t felt the biting cold of the wind and snow.

Their Beast Mother was different from others. Not only could she undergo Beastification, but she also had an aura more powerful than even a Beast Father’s.

This feeling of safety and security was the most comfort they had felt during all the days they had been hunted.

"Thank you, Beast Mother!"

It was the first time he had spoken to his Beast Mother, and his face flushed involuntarily.

Chu Liangyu’s eyes curved into a slight, gentle smile. "It’s nothing. A single one of these elixirs will keep you from feeling the cold for a month. Getting through this winter shouldn’t be a problem."

"Since you’re both all right now, let’s get back on the road and find your Beast Father."

The two boys’ expressions grew serious, and they replied in unison, "Okay!"

However, the one they were concerned about, Yu Tu, was thousands of miles away, covered in blood and looking like he wasn’t long for this world.

Enduring his severe injuries, he had finally found a cave, only to collapse the moment he staggered inside.

He didn’t know when his pursuers might follow the trail of blood. Even though he was exhausted and sleepy, he had to force himself to remain alert to any sounds from outside.

Focused solely on escaping, he might not have noticed that the cave was clean and free of dust—obviously inhabited.

As darkness fell, the cave’s owner was bound to return sooner or later.

If they met, another vicious battle would likely break out.

After forcing himself to stay awake for an unknown amount of time, Yu Tu’s consciousness began to blur.

Suddenly, a crunching sound came from the cave entrance—the sound of footsteps.

Yu Tu immediately snapped open his half-closed eyes, slowed his breathing, and stared intently at the entrance.

He would wait for the person to enter, then sink his teeth into their neck.

The person outside had only come halfway when their keen sense of smell alerted them that something was wrong.

His rabbit nose twitched again, as if uncertain. He hesitated, debating whether to leave or stay.

After all, he could also smell the scent of blood on the person. He was confident he could forcibly drive them out.

This was the only place to rest in the vicinity, and it was getting dark. If he didn’t decide quickly, he would surely freeze to death in the woods tonight.

If that happened, how would he ever find his Female Master?

Setting down the prey in his hands, Wen Yan entered the cave, his heart filled with vigilance.

The next instant, a thick, massive tiger paw swiped at him.

Wen Yan, already on guard, dodged away swiftly. Only then did he get a clear look at his opponent.

A giant White Tiger filled more than half of the cave. His body was mottled with bloodstains, and he exuded an indescribable stench of blood.

Not only that, but the violent movement had caused his wounds to start bleeding again.

Wen Yan narrowed his eyes, thinking, ’This is a good opportunity.’

"It’s you."

Just as he was about to attack, the other party suddenly spoke. From his tone, it seemed he knew him.

Wen Yan remained vigilant, but his attack slowed. "Who are you? How do you know me?"

"Yu Tu, the Female Master’s twelfth Beast Husband." He was so weak that his face paled even more just from saying that sentence.

"If I’m not mistaken, you’re here looking for her, aren’t you?"

Wen Yan knew the names of Chu Liangyu’s other Beast Husbands and had even met them back at the Bianye Tribe.

But the two of them hadn’t interacted much. Wen Yan knew, however, that this guy’s strength was considerable.

’Just how could such a powerful White Tiger get injured so badly?’

"From the sound of it, don’t tell me you know the Female Master’s current location?"

After asking around everywhere, Wen Yan had learned that they had set up camp at the Beast God Temple, but he had never been there himself.

He had traveled and asked for directions, finally making it this far, getting closer and closer.

But the relentless, heavy snow had blocked his path, forcing him to wait in this cave for it to stop.

If the other man knew the exact location, he wouldn’t have to take so many detours.

"I know where she is. And I’m on my way to find her."

Wen Yan’s eyes lit up. "Then tell me."

Yu Tu met his gaze silently for a long moment before saying, "I’m injured right now. When I’ve recovered, I’ll take you there."

The implication was clear: Wen Yan was to take care of him until he recovered. Otherwise, he wouldn’t say a thing.

Wen Yan suddenly felt a tightness in his chest, and his expression turned extremely ugly.

"The only reason I’m not taking advantage of your weakness is out of respect for the Female Master, and you actually want me to nurse you back to health?"

’So brazen. He must think that because I’m a rabbit Beastman, I’m easy to bully.’

His fists, hanging at his sides, clenched tightly. Wen Yan’s tone turned cold. "Even if you don’t tell me, I can still find the Female Master on my own."

With a huff, Wen Yan turned, walked to the mouth of the cave, and dragged his captured prey inside.

Without so much as a glance at the blood-covered Yu Tu, he started eating by himself.

Blood continued to flow from Yu Tu’s wounds, and his body temperature was dropping fast.

If he didn’t stop the bleeding soon, he wouldn’t be far from death.

"Hey. If you help me this time, how about I protect you when we get to the Female Master’s tribe?"

The truth was, the reason Wen Yan didn’t even know where Chu Liangyu was now was because his own power was too weak.

Hu Qiumu and the others had no intention of informing him. Furthermore, winter had arrived early, and the tribe didn’t have much food to begin with.

Thus, the situation for him and his young ones had become difficult. This was one of the reasons he was looking for Chu Liangyu.

If they had someone to protect them, their lives in the tribe would be easier.

His movements as he ate paused. Thinking of this, Wen Yan stopped eating altogether.

He turned to face Yu Tu, his tone hesitant. "What you just said... is it true?"

"It’s true. I can swear it to the Beast God."

Wen Yan stared at him without a word.

Yu Tu understood and, without hesitation, swore the oath.

In the void, the Beast God’s eyes were filled with exhaustion. He adjusted the latest model of reading glasses on his nose, and as he sorted through the newly generated Contract Book, he sighed nonstop. ’What’s been going on lately? One person swearing an oath every day. Do they think I’m not busy enough?’

’Looks like I really need to pass on this position soon. If this keeps up, I’m going to die from overwork sooner or later.’

"Fine. I’ll help you this one time."

With everything outside covered in white snow, finding hemostatic herbs was now an impossible task.

But thankfully, Chu Liangyu had once given him some Mermaid Tears, which were perfect for stopping the bleeding from Yu Tu’s wounds.

However, he didn’t have much left. He had encountered a lot of danger on his journey here, and if not for these items, he would have likely died long ago.

He was reluctant, but then he thought about having Yu Tu’s protection and being able to see Chu Liangyu soon. He no longer felt the sting of loss and, in one go, sprinkled the contents onto Yu Tu’s wounds.
