She slowly closed her eyes, waiting for death.
Instead...
Warm golden-green droplets gently fell onto her body.
Every wound on her body began healing at an incredible speed.
The bruises disappeared.
The cuts closed completely.
Even the pain vanished within seconds.
Miriel’s eyes widened in shock.
She quickly looked at the strange creature again.
"Aren’t you... a Cursed Eye?"
"No..."
She noticed the floating black crown above its eye.
"You’re a... Cursed Eye King?"
"But why did you save me?"
"And... can Cursed Eye Kings even use healing magic?"
Liam simply flapped one of his wings before writing words across the ground with a thin strand of Black Crystal Silk.
Miriel carefully read the message.
Form a contract with me.
She blinked several times.
"You... want to form a contract with me?"
"A master and servant contract?"
Liam rolled his eye before writing two more words.
Master.
Servant.
He then pointed at himself before pointing at Miriel.
Miriel immediately understood what he meant.
"You... want to be the master... and me to become your servant?"
She looked at him in disbelief.
"I don’t think contracts work like that..."
Liam ignored her response and calmly wrote another sentence on the ground.
I will grant you the power to take revenge on those three.
Miriel stared silently at the words.
Her trembling eyes slowly filled with hatred as the faces of the three noble girls appeared in her mind once again.
"I want revenge," Miriel said through gritted teeth.
"But there isn’t any contract that can make a monster the master while a human becomes the servant."
She paused before continuing.
"However, we can form an equal contract. That way, even if I die, nothing will happen to you."
Liam thought about it for a moment before nodding.
An equal contract was acceptable for now.
"Then I’ll draw the contract," Miriel said.
She bit her finger, allowing a drop of blood to fall onto the ground.
Using her blood as ink, she began drawing a large magic circle.
One magical rune after another appeared around the circle.
As she continued writing the contract formula, Liam carefully observed every line.
He understood everything.
At the academy, every student had been taught the common magical languages used throughout the Dream Dimension.
It was to prepare for the future when they will become the Dream Walker.
He quickly confirmed that Miriel had indeed drawn a standard Equal Partnership Contract.
There were no hidden clauses or tricks.
A few minutes later, Miriel let out a small sigh.
"It’s finished."
She looked toward Liam.
"Now we just need to place our blood on the magic circle and inject our mana into it."
"The contract will then be completed."
Liam nodded.
Although he had no hands, obtaining a drop of blood was simple.
He created a thin strand of Black Crystal Silk and lightly pierced one of his wings.
A single drop of dark crimson blood fell onto the center of the magic circle.
Miriel also let another drop of her own blood fall beside it.
The two drops slowly drifted toward each other.
As both of them released their mana into the magic circle, the runes immediately lit up with a brilliant silver light.
The blood merged into a single crimson symbol.
The entire magic circle began spinning.
A powerful but gentle wave of energy spread outward.
Several notifications immediately appeared before Liam.
[ Equal Partnership Contract established successfully. ]
[ Contractor: Miriel ]
[ The connection between both parties has been established. ]
At the same time, Miriel felt a warm current flow through her body.
She instinctively knew that the contract had succeeded.
The moment she looked at Liam again, she could faintly sense his presence through their newly formed connection.
Liam also noticed the same feeling.
Although they could not read each other’s thoughts, they could vaguely sense each other’s emotions and direction through the contract.
The equal partnership had officially been formed.
[ You have formed an Equal Contract with Miriel. ]
[ Miriel’s status screen can now be viewed. ]
[ Contract Skill acquired: Psychic Connection. ]
[ You can now communicate with Miriel through telepathy. ]
Liam looked at Miriel and spoke through their newly formed connection.
"Nice to meet you, Miriel. My name is Liam."
Miriel’s eyes widened in shock.
"Are you... Liam?" she asked.
Liam nodded.
"Yes. It’s me. You’re hearing my voice through Psychic Connection. Since we’ve formed a contract, we can communicate directly through our minds."
Miriel looked at him in disbelief.
"But... I’ve never heard of a monster being able to speak like this."
"They usually can’t," Liam replied with a shrug. "Most monsters aren’t intelligent enough. I’m different."
Miriel slowly nodded, though she still looked amazed.
"Anyway," Liam continued, "I promised to give you power. Let me see your status first."
He focused on the newly unlocked interface.
A transparent screen immediately appeared before him.

Liam finished reading her status before looking at Miriel.
"You’re honestly too weak," he said.
Miriel lowered her head in embarrassment.
"But that’s nothing I can’t change."
He flew toward her and gently placed one of his wings on her shoulder.
"Consider this your first gift."
Liam activated Reality Reversal.
A silver light covered Miriel’s body.
At the same time, her skills began to change.
Basic Swordsmanship (Lv.3) → Basic Swordsmanship (Lv.7)
Mana Control (Lv.2) → Mana Control (Lv.8)
Magic Blade (Lv.2) → Magic Blade (Lv.8)
Miriel suddenly felt a massive amount of knowledge flood into her mind.
Countless techniques, movements, and methods of controlling mana appeared one after another.
It felt as though she had spent years training with the sword and practicing magic.
A few moments later, the light disappeared.
Miriel slowly opened her eyes.
She instinctively drew her sword.
With a single swing, the blade moved far more smoothly than before.
Blue mana instantly covered the edge of the sword.
She stared at it in disbelief.
"I... I can use Magic Blade so easily now..."
Liam clicked his tongue inwardly.
"If all of her skills had started at Level 1, I could have raised them straight to Level 10."
"But this is still good enough."
