After leaving Dim Dim, Renard, and Vaan behind, Reverse Vaan headed east to get started with what he had come for.

A chariot covered in black lightning bulldozed against the ant swarm, creating a gap in their encirclement.

"What are you waiting for?" Reverse Vaan said after stopping several meters away from Alex. "Escape now!"

"Thank you, Vaan!" Alex held Nessia’s waist with his left hand. At the same time, he used his right hand to urge his Hippogriff to fly through the path Vaan had made for them.

The ants tried to close the gap, but Reverse Vaan once again charged fearlessly against the swarm, buying Alex some more time to escape.

A few minutes later, the swarm finally retreated, making everyone sigh in relief.

"Thank you, Vaan." Alex once again thanked their savior, who only looked back at him with a solemn gaze.

Without another word, he urged his chariot to fly eastwards to resume his mission.
