Evangeline and Latifa were currently having lunch together.

Just like their peers who entered Hy-Brasil, both were physically in their mid-twenties, looking more beautiful than ever before.

If Alex could see them right now, he would definitely feel happy. After all, this was a sneak peek of what his lovers would look like in the future.

Since he had already seen Lulu many times, he already knew what a grown-up Latifa would look like. Though, if he saw her right now, he would immediately notice something.

Lotte, Lumi, and Lulu were nowhere in sight.

Behind Latifa, four fox tails swayed lightly.

In fact, the beautiful lady had a troubled look on her face for this reason. No matter what she did, she couldn’t talk to her Alters.

It seemed that they had returned to her body. And in exchange for merging with them, Latifa had become many times stronger. That was the trade-off of fighting without her Alters present.

Aside from that, she could use all the powers of her Alters without limits.

Still, Latifa felt very uncomfortable not having Lotte, Lumi, and Lulu around her.

They had already become an inseparable part of her life, so she felt a little lonely without them.

"Cheer up, Latifa," Evangeline said as if knowing exactly what her friend was thinking. "This is just a temporary thing. You will see them again once we clear this trial."

"I know," Latifa replied before heaving a sigh. "I just hope we find Alex soon."

"Indeed." Evangeline nodded. "I am already looking forward to his older version. I’ll make sure to enjoy drinking his..."

Latifa’s face turned beet red. From the tone of her voice, Evangeline was not just talking about Alex’s blood. She might also be planning to drink other fluids from him as well.

"You’re so cute, Latifa." Evangeline smiled sweetly. "It’s a shame you still haven’t been embraced by Alex. I’m sure he will love you so much that it will melt your heart."

"Please stop teasing me, Evangeline." Latifa pouted in return. "We will do it when the time is right."

"Fine." Evangeline giggled at that. "I’ve taught Alex many things, and he is a very fast learner. So, look forward to it."

Suddenly, Evangeline and Latifa noticed two presences drawing closer to their location.

They had been fighting some giant flying ants for the past few hours and thought that they could finally take a break.

However, both of them could instinctively tell that the unknown beings approaching them weren’t some small fries they could defeat so easily.

Soon, they watched as two masked ladies slowly descended from the sky, only to land several meters away from them.

"Do not be afraid," the one with angel wings said calmly. "We are not enemies."

"Or so you say, but I can’t possibly trust someone who hides their identity behind a mask," Evangeline replied coolly. "If you truly are not our enemies, a bit of sincerity wouldn’t hurt, right?"

Latifa didn’t make any comments. However, she was already prepared to fight if these two newcomers were to suddenly attack them without warning.

Her senses told her that if these two strangers were to attack them, she and Evangeline would have to fight seriously if they wanted to win.

"Fair enough." The masked lady with angel wings nodded. "I’ll remove my mask."

As soon as her face was revealed, Evangeline and Latifa immediately recognized her.

But instead of lowering their guard, both of them took fighting stances at the same time.

Efa blinked once, then twice. This wasn’t the reaction she was expecting from them. She thought that after seeing her face, the two ladies would finally be willing to talk to her properly.

"What’s wrong?" Efa asked. "Why do the two of you look like you are eager to fight?"

Himea and the Little Devil perched on her shoulder looked very amused by this sudden turn of events.

The Little Devil even started to say "Fight!" "Fight!" "Fight!" repeatedly as if eager to see a bloodbath.

"We know who you are," Evangeline said. "Although we can’t say it when Alex was around, you were really bold for trying to seduce him with your body before he had even met us."

Latifa nodded in agreement.

Efa could only sigh at those words as she covered her face with the palm of her hand. "I can’t believe you girls are treating me as your enemy for that reason. Do you know? I was the one who encouraged Alex to chase you girls. I even told him that I will wait for a year before we talk about our relationship."

""We know.""

Evangeline and Latifa answered at the same time.

"Alex told us about your agreement with him," Evangeline stated. "However, you hid your true identity from him. He told us that you are just an adventurer whom he met at the Floating Islands of Thaloria. Yet, looking at you right now, you’re no mere adventurer."

"You are Himea, right?" Latifa addressed the young lady, who was wearing a fox mask.

"That’s right." Himea didn’t even bother to deny Latifa’s words.

Since Latifa’s Alters explored the academy freely, there were many instances where Himea had met them.

Even so, the only thing they knew about Himea was that she had a close relationship with the Headmaster of the Academy, Professor Rowan.

They had never seen her attend any class at all. If anything, she simply stayed at the academy for unknown reasons.

"What are you doing here?" Latifa asked. "Why are you with Efa?"

"Good question," Himea answered. "Well, let’s just say that we happened to meet and share the same agenda."

"And what is that agenda?" Evangeline asked.

"What else?" the Little Devil replied. "To help Alex Stratos clear the Challenge of the Hermit."

"And why are you helping Alex?" Latifa asked. "The two of you aren’t close, though?"

"You’re right." The Little Devil replied. "We’re not close. But that statement only applies to me."

Himea remained silent, but her silence spoke volumes.

The Little Devil admitted that it wasn’t close to Alex. However, that didn’t mean that Himea wasn’t close to Alex.

Evangeline and Latifa glanced at each other in response. They were Alex’s confidants, so he told them some of his secrets. Yet, never in their conversation did he ever mention that he was close with Himea.

"Look, I know both of you have many questions," Efa interjected. "But I assure you that we are not your enemies. In fact, we have come to help you clear this challenge since there are people who want to make this already hard challenge even harder."

"Yes, they plan to make the challenge Hell Mode Difficulty!" The Little Devil laughed. "Kakaka!"

"What do you mean?" Evangeline asked. "What Hell Mode Difficulty are you talking about?"

"You’ve already seen them, right?" Efa replied calmly. "The people from Reverse Arcana. They are planning to cross over, but it will not just be one of them. You will be facing Reverse Alex and his entire gang."

At the mention of Reverse Arcana, both Evangeline and Latifa’s expressions turned grim.

They had already seen Reverse Lala and Reverse Lulu before, both of which were already very difficult adversaries to face.

But now, if they were to face Reverse Alex and their own counterparts, this challenge would not only become harder but also more dangerous.

"You’re not joking, aren’t you?" Latifa inquired.

"I wish I was." Efa smiled wryly. "The only chance we have of winning is by working together to defeat them. But even then, it will be an uphill battle. After all, they are far stronger than you girls."

After realizing the danger they were in, Evangeline and Latifa decided to give Efa and Himea the benefit of the doubt.

"So, what do we do now?" Evangeline narrowed her eyes.

"We head north to the capital city of Faelarun," Himea replied. "Alex is there. You girls need to reunite with him."

A minute later, four ladies took to the skies and headed north.

At this moment, everyone, except for Charles, was planning to head to Everdawn City, the place where they could rest and discuss the real threat that they were about to face.
