Looking at his screen, Kael felt a rare sense of satisfaction, especially when his eyes focused on the usually empty talent slot. Now he had two of those.

During these past few days, he had been able to increase his Mind stat by 14 points using his overpowered class trait. And Kael doubted if there ever existed anyone with such stats at a mere Level 12.

'Hmm... let's not become too cocky. The universe is too boundless to say I am the best at this level.'

His eyes involuntarily glanced at his front before he shifted his focus back to his screen with a bit of struggle.

'I have become powerful enough, at least, to defend myself and escape any threatening situation. What remains now is to escape this place. And with the plan already set, all we have to do is wait for the next Night Event.'

A dangerous glint flashed through Kael's dark-as-night eyes as he thought about the plan Nathan had filled him in on.

Putting the thought behind for the moment, he noticed the other changes on his status page. First, his AP increased by an additional five points after dealing with the undead whose core he had consumed.

Also, his Energi increased by ten points, the equivalent of two level ups, from the awakening of his Weaver talent. Kael really didn't understand the mechanics behind this change, but as he was already getting used to, he ignored the matter. He was already starting to come to terms with the fact that his body held a great number of secrets.

He waved his status screen away, and yet again, his eyes couldn't help but fall on his front.

Kael gulped involuntarily.

Only three people were currently present in the room. Kael, Sophia, and Alice.

Thinking of the little girl, Kael glanced at his side and was relieved he hadn't been caught sneaking glances.

The little girl was busy weaving a green scarf, the needle moving smoothly with each movement of her tiny hands. During these past few days, the little girl had spent most of her time in this small act of hers. Looking at her calm face still filled with baby fat, Kael couldn't help but feel a pang in his chest.

But when he remembered the reason why she was actually here, the side of his mouth twitched several times. The little girl wasn't as close to him as before she entered the trial, and the only reason she was here was because of Py.

Yes, she had been relentlessly disturbing Kael about his favorite familiar, and Kael had had no choice but to tell her when the little phoenix would awaken.

And yes, that would be in about an hour. This marked exactly one week since the ambush against him.

Shaking the unwanted thought away, Kael's eyes fell back on Alice, who was currently performing a series of exercises.

Calisthenics.

It was just that this wasn't the usual type performed by mundane humans. Each of the exercises had been taken up several notches, and if any hardcore gym enthusiast had seen this sight before the apocalypse, they would have been shocked senseless.

She sat on the ground with her feet stretched straight before her, joined together as if glued. Her braided, waist-length dark hair fell behind her, and sweat rolled down her slender neck. While she appeared to be sitting, the truth was that her body was floating several inches above the ground, supported by nothing but her forefingers.

That was right!

She was performing an L-sit with only two fingers. She remained in that position for several minutes, her face a mask of calm that betrayed no signs of strain. If it wasn't for the sweat that soaked her combat suit, making the already fitted wear cling closer and hug her curves, one wouldn't have thought she was doing anything stressful.

Kael gulped once more, his eyes lingering on her outlined curves.

- SHING! SHING! SHING!

Sword cries rang intermittently from the side, but Kael ignored the sounds. He was already getting used to the strange companions around him and had mastered the act of tuning away noise. So Kira, the katana, which sat against the wall while trembling visibly unlike Alice's other swords, didn't move him at all.

Suddenly, Alice changed her position. Her legs still raised, she shifted smoothly from an L-sit, her feet moving beneath her raised torso before extending high behind her.

A handstand.

On only two fingers.

Kael's eyes widened at the sight, and he couldn't help but wonder what the young girl had experienced in her trial for her to now routinely perform these inhuman feats.

'Even her hands looked a bit rough. Her palms and fingers were covered in hardened calluses.'

He was still lost in thought when Alice suddenly shifted from resting on both forefingers to only a single one.

Her body remained perfectly straight, her lone finger showing no signs of wavering, supporting her weight effortlessly, as steady as an ancient mountain.

From the one finger handstand, she suddenly transitioned into a one finger planche with both hands. She remained so for awhile, before she started a push up, still in that position.

"Wow..." Kael couldn't help but mutter, gob smacked.

Just like that, he continued watching as his former classmate kept changing from one exercise to another, each more difficult than the last, his gaze quietly admiring her smooth and fluid movements, and her graceful form.

Kael became so lost in his world that he didn't even realize when Alice finished her workout, and turned to look at him.

Her face remained stoic, yet her beauty couldn't be denounced. She opened her enticing lips and spoke out.

"What?"
