On the endless waters, the veiled figure watched Kael with narrowed eyes that barely hid her disappointment. Still, she decided to hear him out.

"I don't know why I feel useless and disgusted with myself. This power, this class I possess doesn't feel earned. It doesn't feel like it's mine. It doesn't feel real..."

Kael raised his hands, his eyes tracing the lines on his palms. He didn't know how to put his thoughts into words. But despite how powerful his class was, and the potential it held for the future, Kael just felt unsettled. He would have preferred if he had been given a low class, one he could build, one he could develop through his own effort, mold with his own hands, and call his own. But to be granted the supposed highest possible class rank left him feeling hollow.

Like he was just a pawn, conveniently granted power to wield. And if that was the case, wasn't the opposite the same?

Power that was given could be taken back.

In fact, wasn't he in the same situation? Before he could even have a taste of how formidable his class truly was, he was handicapped.

And that left a bad taste in his mouth.

It might sound selfish or even arrogant to most. But that was just who he was.

He was Kael Draven.

Shifting his head back to the mysterious figure, whom he felt strangely close to, he spoke again:

"The system might say it is impossible, but I will make it possible. I will make this class mine, and turn it into something great, one shaped by my very own hands."

There was no response this time for several seconds. But the mysterious figure didn't care. Even as the system tried to throw her out of Kael's mind and destroy her will, she fought back with her own, grounding herself against the system's wishes.

Honestly, she didn't know how to feel. She wanted to tell Kael that he was too young, that he should not bite off more than he could chew, that he was naive. Yet...

Her luck seemed to say otherwise. It was then she realized it.

Luck was a stat that would only be unlocked far above in the realms of power. But even for this mighty figure, it was a special sense she still couldn't control, and yet, it was so powerful to the point it could arguably be called the most important stat, despite its mysteries.

From what she sensed, she realized she wasn't meant to give Kael this treasure. She was sent here to provide him an opportunity to make a choice.

What did that mean?

At every important milestone, awakened would integrate more deeply with the system, unlocking more of its functions. And it just so happened that at level 25, once one broke into the First Order, a very important feature would be unlocked.

Titles!

Every major decision, action, and path one walked was constantly being observed by the system. And at level 25, the decisions you make at those defining turning points would be awarded as Titles. That of course, was if they met the requirements.

So what did it mean for a newly awakened human to turn down one of the most powerful treasures in the universe? And that too because of such a simple reason?

Hidden behind the veiled light, the lips of the mysterious figure rose into an enchanting smile.

If such a sight were to be seen in the outside world, countless beings would be shocked out of their minds.

To think this cold, arrogant, and ruthless figure could smile?

The universe must have gone mad!

She would respect his decision and trust in her luck---and in him. In fact, she could not wait to see what he would receive.

Among all the paths of power, it had always been debated which left the greatest impact on the awakened.

Classes? Talents? Blessings? Curses? Bloodlines? Race Grades?

Given the sheer, staggering vastness of the cosmos, paths to power were as numerous as the stars themselves.

Even she wasn't sure which was the greatest.

But what she did know was that Titles stood at the very top of that list.

"Okay." She responded with only one word.

The fruit flew back toward her before disappearing in a flash of light.

"I can feel how dejected and down you are," she started, as she felt the pull on her reaching a point she could no longer resist. Yet she continued as if everything was normal. "I won't comfort you, as I know you will likely go through far more terrifying experiences. But this I will tell you..."

Kael's eyes fixed on the figure before him. He could feel something was wrong. His instincts screamed at him that he was about to lose something important. Something precious. But he pressed such thoughts down and focused on her words.

"The apocalypse is only the beginning. If you want to protect your sister and family, if you want to protect your friends, if you don't want to find yourself in near-death situations like before, if you don't want to break again, then..."

"...Forge your strength!"

- Ba-dump!

- Ba-dump!

The three words reverberated in Kael's mind again and again, as his eyes narrowed slightly, a faint tremor passing through them as something deep within him awakened.

"I know you want to grow with your own strength, but don't be angry with me for giving you this little gift."

Kael's eyes widened, but before he could react, the figure before him scattered into motes of sparkling light.

He remained on the spot, stunned. But when he heard the next words, an overwhelming sense of loss engulfed him.

"Till we meet again...little nephew."

---

Kael woke up with a start, gasping harshly for breath.

"Are you okay?" Several voices resounded in the background, but he didn't have the mind to spare them any attention. His right hand moved to his chest as he felt his wildly beating heart.

For some reason, he felt like he had lost something.

Forgotten something very important.

Suddenly, his eyes widened as he felt a mysterious energy---one different from the Energi he was used to---move through his body before flowing toward his missing limb.

Then he watched as the stump of flesh twitched violently before new bones pushed out, white and slick, rapidly extending as muscle fibers coiled and wrapped around them like living threads. Veins stitched themselves into place before skin stretched over it all in a smooth, unnatural regeneration.

The others, who had been anxious for his well-being, also froze at the sight, the room descending into silence once more.

Kael moved his newly healed arm with an absent look in his eyes. Despite recovering his limb---one he had feared might take long to regenerate or might never become whole again---his mind was fixed on something else.

His eyes moved past the group surrounding him, shifting toward the window. The sun had disappeared beyond the horizon, night swallowing the sky whole, a dark blanket stretching endlessly with faint, distant stars flickering weakly against the void.

It was almost time for a potential night event, yet for some reason, he didn't feel scared.

Instead, three words that resonated so deeply within him kept reverberating through his mind like a distant war drum, steady and unyielding, echoing through his very being.
