ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]

A wave of earth spread outward from them, sending the rushing tide of undead flying in all directions and crumbling many of the still intact structures. Many of the undead were hurled away, their angry snarls shaking the skies.

Waves of guttural, distorted neighs suddenly echoed within the dust-clouded battlefield. Before anyone could react, a crimson glow suddenly covered the hooves of the Ruinsteeds. With a single unified charge, the herd disappeared into crimson blurs that cut through the dust.

A massive stallion appeared before one of the undead that was rising back to its feet. The creature raised its hooves and stomped down.

- BAM!

Sand and dust billowed into the skies, as blood splattered in every direction. The zombie's upper body was crushed into a bloody gore. The steed released another resonant, rumbling cry before joining its group in the rampage.

- ROAR!

- ROAR!

The horde released angry growls, the sound waves dissipating what remained of the billowing cloud of dust.

As if receiving a command, the horde of undead suddenly became more orderly, quickly regaining their balance before rushing at the steeds.

The ferocious-looking steeds stomped on the ground once more, earthen spikes rising from the ground and jutting upward at vicious angles.

But the tide of undead couldn't be underestimated.

The zombies over three meters tall, with bone armor covering their bodies, moved on all fours like animals, feral growls echoing from their outstretched mouths. They wove around the battlefield, evading the earthen spikes, every bound sending their hulking frames several meters forward.

- BAM!

- BAM!

- BAM!

The sounds of several violent impacts reverberated in the surroundings.

- NEIGH!

- NEIGH!

Several steeds were slammed into the ground, the undead plunging their jagged teeth into their dark coat. The wet sound of tearing flesh filled the area, as the common-ranked zombies used their massive weight to pin the beasts down.

Rare-ranked zombies moved around the battlefield, vine-like growths snaking across the ground before coiling around hooves. With great tugs, many of the Ruinsteeds were sent reeling to the ground, tens of undead soon swarming them.

As many stallions fell, many more of the zombies were killed. Spikes dug into flesh, tearing through bony armor like blades through paper, before impaling them, the macabre sight of undead dangling like grotesque ornaments playing out on the field. The Ruinsteeds smashed their heads into decayed flesh, the horns in the middle of their heads tearing through any obstacle as they plowed through the battlefield.

Guttural growls and distorted neighs filled the skies, the sound of magical explosions shaking the earth and their flashes tearing through the darkness while painting the battlefield in chaos.

Kael watched the scene play out before him with narrowed eyes. He took a deep breath before voicing out,

"We need to move."

No response came. None was needed. They were already prepared to survive the night and were determined to die trying.

Nathan's shadow suddenly flew out from behind the dorm, this time without displaying any of its antics. It seemed it too could tell how serious the situation was.

It crawled on the ground as it moved to the side of the battlefield before materializing in the open.

The sight drew the attention of several undead.

- GRR?

- GRRR!

Before they could react, the shadow had already returned to its normal state as it retreated back towards Kael's group. It was then the undead saw Kael standing a short distance away before plunging back into the shadows.

- ROAR!

- ROAR!

The undead grew agitated at the sight of a human. Without hesitation, they lunged towards the back of the dorm.

Kael took a deep breath before taking a fighting stance.

'Forge your strength!'

He was going to go all out in this battle. This might be their only chance to close the gap between them and these creatures, and he would make full use of it. With the 50% EXP gain, he didn't need to fear running out of fuel. After all, as long as he leveled up, his Energi would be instantly recharged.

Alice stood a few feet behind him with a blue sword in one hand and a shield in the other. At her side, Nathan gripped two swords tightly, his shadow having returned to his feet.

Further behind them, in the middle of the group, Claire watched over Natalie, Rose, and Sophia. While at the other end of the corner, the zombie Rose controlled stood on guard. In case any monster appeared at their rear, it would give them a chance to react.

By now, with the exception of Kael, the rest had already used their potions. But they quickly found out that these items weren't as ground-breaking as they had thought. After downing two potions in a row, their bodies had already started showing signs of strain.

Hearing the sound of quickly approaching footsteps, Kael took a deep breath before sending five units of Energi each into his agility and strength stats, and another ten into his mind stat.

Strength: 37 (+15)

Agility: 30 (+10)

Vitality: 20 (+5)

Mind: 43 (+23)

Energi: 25/45 (Unique)

The first undead rounded the corner, its hulking frame digging a deep line into the ground as it halted its momentum.

Yet, before it could even react, Kael appeared before it in a blur, his front foot planted into the ground and his waist torquing as his right fist flew upward in an uppercut. He activated the only skill of his gauntlet, the bright crimson light shining across its surface proving the next attack would have +100% damage. Finally, he activated his only attack class skill.

"Ignition Fist!"

- BOOM!

The sound of an explosion resounded like a detonating bomb, as Kael's perception watched how the skull of the creature slowly deformed against his gauntlet before exploding into blood, gore, and white matter. The body was sent flying by the immense force, golden flames snaking down the neck before devouring the entire body whole.
