Alice moved past the head sent flying into the air, the blue axe in her hand dripping with black blood.

More zombies surged towards her. But with graceful steps, she dodged around them, the now two axes in her hands cutting into their flesh. Yet despite how formidable she had become, she couldn't escape the undead's rampage unscathed.

A zombie sneaked behind her as she was facing another of its kind. Its claws raked through the air with a splitting sound as it intended to split her into six pieces from behind.

However, a four-sided crystalline barrier, translucent like polished sapphire glass and glowing with faint blue runes, appeared in the path of its attack. Its black claws smashed through the obstacle, but four more had already appeared, stacking before it like layered walls of crystal ice. It smashed through three more of the barriers, crystalline particles glistening under the pale moonlight. However, its force had already been mitigated by then, the last barrier stopping it in place.

The zombie growled in confusion when Alice suddenly turned around, her right axe cutting deep into the zombie's neck, the left also following immediately to decapitate it completely.

A head flew through the skies, a line of corrupted blood connecting it to its still standing body. Even till now, the creature didn't understand how it died. Not as if it could think in the first place.

The zombie Alice had originally been facing took advantage of the opening, a claw piercing through her armor and slashing through her back. Red blood splattered onto the creature, black lines instantly spreading from the wound to other parts of her body.

But the lines had barely covered some distance when a golden beam of light fell from the skies and onto Alice. The black lines of corruption were instantly purged as her back shone with a radiant holy light.

The undead tried to attack her once more only for its attack to be blocked by another set of crystalline barriers. Alice quickly retreated before engaging the monster once more.

Kael's senses fell on Claire, who stood with one hand raised, crystalline barriers materializing throughout the battlefield, while Sophia held a small staff in her hand, radiant golden light gathering around its tip.

Finally, rampaging with Alice at the vanguard were three undead. Two had hulking frames, their massive bodies colliding with their kind like battering rams, while the last undead sent radiant balls of fire flying into the rank of the zombies.

Kael watched how his sister's eyes shone with a deep pink light, a regal crown sitting comfortably on her small head.

With the previous undead she controlled still at their rear guarding against sudden attacks, his sister had now grown powerful enough to puppeteer four of these powerful creatures. And since they had long reached the limit of their level in the Awakened rank, all the EXP gained was received by her. Which was why the bright blue text shining above her head was so eye-catching.

They had all been subconsciously waiting for the system to announce the advancement of ten humans into the First Order just as it had done for the zombies.
