ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]
CHAPTER 95: BRUTALAN: Don't forget to click on love.
*****
The greater reason behind Kael's overwhelming power was the effect of Combat Trance on him during battles. The ability to perfectly translate his thoughts into action was like a cheat code his Primordial class granted him.
But this time, Kael didn't rely on this perk. Instead, he let his Danger Sense take the front seat. And the combination of the two could only be said to be overwhelming. It was like giving wings to a tiger!
And just like that, a deadly dance began.
Kael cartwheeled to the right without his hands touching the ground, expertly passing between two spears. He had barely landed when his body used the momentum to roll in the same direction once more.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Ten mercury-like needles pierced into the ground in his previous position, the sound generated from the impact betraying a far greater force compared to what their appearance suggested.
Just like that, with his heightened perception, Kael wove around one projectile after another, craters of earth left around him. Suddenly, he found himself surrounded from all sides, with no gaps to maneuver through. Yet his steps barely faltered as he lunged forward, almost as if planning to allow the front attacks to land while he escaped the others.
Daniel snickered from afar, the bronze aura exuding from his body coiling around him like living snakes.
He perfectly took control of his attacks from behind and twisted their directions ever so slightly.
He thought the fight had ended, only for the next sight to stun him on the spot.
Kael's body spun several times like a spinning top as he somersaulted straight forward, the attacks from his front passing his frame by mere inches without finding purchase.
[Congratulations! Your skill Danger Sense has leveled up...]
Kael ignored the messages flashing before his closed eyes and, taking advantage of the former's shock, landed on his knees rather than his feet, his body still spinning from the forward inertia. His arms moved to his front, and Kael's perception locked onto Ben's stunned figure.
The magical markings on his handguns glowed brightly, a brilliant light soon flashing in front of the nozzles.
"Shit."
Ben cursed, waking from his stupor due to the overwhelming danger he felt.
But how could an item powered by Kael's overwhelming ENERGi be so easy to dodge once locked onto?
One shouldn't forget that Kael's epic gauntlets had no reason to be as powerful as they were.
And it was this same situation Ben faced.
The guns in Kael's hand practically disintegrated, their structures as rare items unable to bear Kael's overbearing energy.
Still, they did their jobs.
Two bullets shining brightly like stars in the sky streaked through the air with such speed that they seemed to have teleported, the sound barrier broken over and over again.
"AAAAH!"
A cry of pain pierced through the skies. Ben couldn't even react before his arms, together with his shoulders, were blasted into a bloody mist, the massive impact sending him flying like a ragdoll into the distance.
Kael didn't even have time to chase after him as a shadow loomed over him.
"Die!"
Logan roared in anger as he swung his hammer down from overhead, the veins on his neck bulging like thick roots beneath his skin.
Kael just barely twisted to the left, the air generated from the swing causing his hair to flap wildly, exposing his shut eyes glowing bright blue from within.
- BANG!
A crater formed in the ground, cracks spreading across the area. The massive shockwave stung Kael's face, but...
- TTANG!
The familiar clanging sound shook the skies once again.
Before Logan could react, and still engulfed in a cloud of dust, Kael expertly coiled his body around Logan's rising arm, wrapping around the limb like a snake.
Kael's eyes snapped open, two icy beams tearing through the plumes and landing on Logan's mortified face.
It was almost as if the latter could sense what was coming.
And his assumption didn't disappoint.
Unwilling to let the fight drag out as he was only left with five ENERGi units, Kael pulled with all his might, coiling muscles bulging around his body as he forced Logan into an arm lock.
"AAAAH!"
A cry of pain tore through the bully's mouth, his hammer landing heavily on the ground as his grip slackened.
- TTANG!
Kael didn't seem to care about the hammer as he pulled with all his might, his teeth gritted so hard his gums bled.
Just when Logan's feet were about to buckle underneath him, he suddenly pulled strength from within and, with a great roar, raised Kael into the air before viciously slamming him into the ground.
- BAM!
A massive shockwave roared out, Kael's spine bouncing off the earth.
- TTANG!
Yet again, when Logan wanted to take advantage of the opening he created, Kael took advantage of the recoil from the ground, freed his lock around the former's arm, and instead locked onto his neck with a death grip.
Logan couldn't even react before the air was cut off from his lungs, his face turning purple.
[Congratulations! Your skill Mixed Martial Arts has upgraded...]
Kael ignored the message as he shoved one point each into the stats he had boosted, leaving him with a measly two. But he didn't seem to care as he roared into the skies, drawing upon all the strength his body could offer and even more.
"AAAAH!"
- TTANG!
His cry intermingled with the clanging sound, his aura crushing whatever resistance Logan tried to raise. His massive frame toppled to the ground as he fell on Kael, yet the latter's lock didn't loosen in the slightest. Instead, it grew firmer and tighter.
Logan squirmed and struggled in Kael's lock, his hands brushing against the latter's face.
He yanked on his hair, pulling strands from Kael's scalp. His big fists landed on Kael's head, sending blood splattering into the air. Several of the latter's teeth were knocked loose, one of his eyes so swollen it almost seemed shut. Yet the blue beam of light struggling to escape its narrow space didn't seem to decrease in intensity.
It was then Logan realized it.
He was about to die.
Through his hazy vision, he caught sight of Kael's face, and what he saw sent a chill down his back.
He could almost swear the barely intact eye of Kael had ghostly green flames flickering around the icy blue, almost as if trying to engulf the latter whole.
"Pweash..."
He tried to beg, but as if unsatisfied that he could still speak, even if barely, Kael's lock suddenly grew stronger.
Logan's face darkened to a deep purple, veins bulging across his forehead. His eyes began to bloodshot. His kicks weakened, and soon, foam gathered at the corners of his mouth, his movements becoming sluggish and desperate.
Two lines of tears leaked from Logan's now-dimming eyes.
He didn't want to die.
Was it wrong for him to want to enjoy his strength?
Wasn't that how the world worked?
Even before the apocalypse, the strong preyed upon the weak, the reality merely hidden beneath the mask of law and civility, and wrapped in the illusion of justice.
Yet here he was, at the junction of death.
He hadn't even killed anyone.
That last thought barely formed as his body grew softer, the strength draining from his limbs.
It was then a change occurred.
- TAP!
The barrel of a gun fell against Kael's head at point-blank range.
"Let go!"
A soft, shaky voice came from behind.
Kael's eyes shifted up, the blue beams searing into two hazel ones.
Yet despite the fact that he had a gun pointed at his face, Kael's grip on Logan didn't slacken in the slightest. He could still feel that life hadn't completely left the body in his arms.
Rachel shivered under Kael's indifferent look.
Despite how miserable the latter looked, how injured his body was, a crushing pressure still almost forced her to her knees.
It was then that voice came to her.
[Listen to me, girl. Trust me when I say you won't have such a chance to end him again. This boy is a massive threat to your life. Kill him!]
