Paige paused briefly before continuing.

[Living that long takes a heavy toll on anyone’s mind. Even for divine beings or high-tier devils whose mental fortitude is light-years beyond humans, an endless lifespan can distort your perspective. Sometimes, their divine authorities can even begin to slowly consume their sanity. Adopting a lighthearted, chaotic personality and throwing herself into human pop culture is likely Lucifer’s way of keeping herself grounded and sane. In the end, she just wants entertainment, and she chose Nova’s music to get it.]

I digested her words in silence as we walked.

I was barely in my twenties, and two decades already felt like a substantial amount of time. Trying to comprehend what it felt like to exist for thousands of years was completely beyond my reach.

I shook my head, deciding to stop analyzing the Devil Queen. It wasn’t like we were going to run into each other again anytime soon anyway.

[Oho?] Paige purred mischievously inside my mind. [Are you telling me you aren’t already planning to recruit her into your Sovereign Deck and add her to your harem down the road, Host? Adding the creator of Sovereign Deck is quite a bold move. Just what I would expect from my host.]

I offered a small, quiet smile, choosing to stay silent. Instead of answering Paige, my eyes drifted over to Val, walking half a step beside me. Seeing her subtle, glowing happiness as she maintained her guard duty made my smile broaden.

When we stepped back into our private floating VIP skybox, the atmosphere had quieted down significantly.

The room was mostly empty. Only Mom, Yoona, and little Dylan remained inside. Grandfather Alistair and my father were nowhere to be seen.

I walked over to the main seating area, looking around in mild confusion. "Where did Dad and Grandfather go?"

Alice turned away from the window, offering me a warm smile. "Since there was a security breach beneath the stadium, your father stepped down to the lower command levels to oversee the perimeter sweep personally. As for your grandfather, he went to attend a private reception with a few visiting diplomats from the foreign pantheons."

I nodded, setting the inert blue mana bomb and the bandaged spear down onto the low marble table. "Val and I took care of the mercenaries in the subterranean caverns. Here’s the bomb they were trying to set up, along with the sensory-jamming spear they used to slip past the security grid."

Alice walked over, examining the items on the table with a sharp, discerning eye. She nodded approvingly. "Good work, both of you. I’ll make sure these are handed directly to Julian so his team can trace the origin of the materials."

She smoothed down her dress and picked up her purse. "I need to step out as well, sweetie. I have an important meeting with an old friend from the council."

Walking over to the sofa, Alice leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss on Dylan’s cheek. "It was wonderful meeting you, little Dylan. If you ever need anything at all, tell your mother to call me, alright?"

"Thank you, Aunt Alice!" Dylan beamed, waving his hand.

Alice turned toward the skybox exit, but just as she reached the doorframe, she paused and looked back over her shoulder.

Her dark eyes rested on Val. Alice’s lips curved into a soft, highly perceptive smile. "Valerie, dear... you look exceptionally happy today. I wonder what happened down there..."

FLUSH.

Val’s entire face instantly turned bright crimson. Her stoic guard posture locked up, her jaw slightly parting as she stood there, completely unable to form a single response. Clearly, my dear bodyguard wasn’t good in these matters.

Alice let out a quiet, amused laugh, turning her sharp gaze onto me. "And as for you, Seth... I shall be waiting for some very good news at home. You had better bring it to me soon."

I let out a dry, sheepish laugh and nodded. "Got it, Mom."

Watching her walk out the door, a quiet warmth settled in my chest. It was obvious that Mom already knew, or at least had strongly guessed, everything that had transpired between Val, Yerin, and me. But instead of pushing or demanding details, she was content to wait until I was ready to tell her on my own terms. I truly appreciated how considerate she was.

Remembering something important, I took a step forward and called out, "Wait, Mom!"

Alice paused in the hallway, looking back. "Yes, Seth?"

"Do you know how the binding ritual for the Sovereign Deck actually works?" I asked. "I want to bind someone, but Grandfather didn’t give me the exact steps."

A look of mild surprise flickered across Alice’s face, followed immediately by a sharp glance at Yoona. Then, Mom’s eyes drifted toward Val’s blushing face.

A radiant, knowing grin broke across Alice’s face. "Are you planning to bind Valerie to your Deck, sweetie?"

I grinned right back, not hiding it at all. "Who better to protect me than my own head of security?"

Alice nodded in complete agreement. "I couldn’t agree more. I do know the ritual mechanics, Seth, but I really must run to my appointment. Fortunately, Yoona is thoroughly familiar with the conceptual binding process as well. She can guide you through it."

Yoona offered a smooth, confident smile from the sofa. "I’d be glad to help."

"Thanks, Mom," I said.

Alice offered a final wave and disappeared down the corridor.

Turning back to the room, I walked over to the sofa and lifted little Dylan into my arms.

"Alright, buddy," I grinned, hoisting him onto my shoulder. "Concert’s over. Time to take you back to your mom backstage."

I leaned down slightly, putting on a playfully menacing face as I whispered to him, "You know, Dylan... since you stole my mom’s attention all afternoon, I think I’m going to steal your mom in return."

Dylan’s eyes widened in sudden horror. He gripped my shirt frantically, waving his little hands. "No!! Big Brother Seth, you can’t steal my mom! I’m not giving her to you!"

He paused for a second, his little eyebrows furrowing in intense thought, before he let out a dramatic sigh. "...Okay, fine! We can share her! But you can’t take her away completely."

PFT.

I burst into genuine laughter, patting his back. "I’m just kidding, man! I’m not stealing your mom."

Sitting on the sofa, Yoona leaned her chin on her hand, shooting me a sharp, intensely playful smirk that clearly communicated she didn’t believe a single word coming out of my mouth.

[Fufufu~] Paige chimed in my head, giggling uncontrollably. [Don’t lie to the kid, Host! You are 100% going to steal Sarah down the line! I can already see her joining your harem.]

’Shut up, Paige,’ I replied mentally, carrying Dylan toward the elevator with Yoona and a very quiet, deeply blushing Val following right behind us.
