Clyde was thrown backward through the air and crashed through three floating houses before finally breaking through the wall of a large building. He tumbled across the floor and came to a stop inside what appeared to have once been an office.

Broken desks and chairs were scattered across the room. Several computers lay beneath chunks of concrete, their screens cracked and wires hanging from their frames. Dust drifted slowly through the air.

Clyde pushed himself upright and sighed.

He moved his arms and checked his body. Nothing seemed to be broken. His bones had survived the impact, but his entire body was hurt from the force of the attack. Faint traces of lightning and fire still crawled across his skin before gradually fading away.

That one is stronger than the others. Clyde looked toward the hole he had created in the wall. The white serpent was still out there.

Unlike the others, that creature was able to attack him from a distance with red lightning. Its power was also very destructive.

Clyde could not afford to underestimate it. Lightning suddenly erupted around his body again and he disappeared.

The ruined office exploded behind him as Clyde shot through the wall and accelerated across the floating debris. Within seconds, he landed directly in front of the white serpent again.

The creature lowered its enormous head. Its crimson eyes bulged slightly as red energy gathered inside them.

Clyde’s expression hardened.

The serpent fired a bolt of red lightning that exploded from its eyes.

Clyde immediately moved sideways.

The lightning struck the place where he had been standing less than a second earlier. The concrete beneath it disintegrated instantly, sending fragments flying in every direction.

Clyde continued moving. Another bolt came at him and he slid beneath it.

The red lightning passed over his head and obliterated a floating building behind him.

Clyde jumped, another red bolt tore through the space beneath his feet.

He twisted in the air and landed on the side of a floating platform before immediately pushing himself away again.

The serpent continued firing its red lighting at him.

Clyde moved between them with barely enough time to breathe. He ran across broken concrete, jumped between floating structures, slid beneath falling debris, and twisted his body through narrow gaps as red lightning followed him relentlessly.

Every attack missed him by fractions of a second. The ruined city around them suffered instead-buildings exploded, and concrete shattered. Burning vehicles were vaporized in flashes of crimson light.

Clyde kept moving until he finally saw an opening. His body accelerated and charged directly toward the serpent.

The creature opened its jaws, but Clyde raised both hands first.

Flames erupted from his palms. A torrent of fire surged forward and engulfed the serpent’s head.

The white serpent shrieked and immediately flapped its massive wings, forcing its body backward through the air.

Clyde did not give it time to recover. He chased it. Fireballs continuously shot from his hands, one after another, flying across the air and exploding against the serpent’s body.

The creature twisted violently to avoid them.

Several fireballs missed and exploded against the ruins behind it but others struck its wings and scales, leaving burning patches across its pale body.

The serpent roared and suddenly stopped retreating. Its crimson eyes flared.

Clyde’s expression changed. Red lightning exploded from its gaze. He knew he could not dodge this one.

He planted his feet and raised his sword. Lightning flowed from his body into the blade. At the same time, his magical energy surged through the weapon, causing the entire sword to glow with violent blue and white lightning power.

The red lightning struck, Clyde swung. The sword collided with the incoming bolt.

An enormous explosion erupted between them.

Clyde’s arms trembled from the impact. His feet were pushed backward across the ground, carving deep marks into the concrete.

Another bolt came. He blocked it again. Then another. And another. Each impact sent shockwaves through his body.

His muscles screamed. His grip tightened around the sword until his knuckles turned pale.

The white serpent continued firing while Clyde continued resisting.

Red lightning and blue-white lightning collided repeatedly in the middle of the ruined city, illuminating the surrounding buildings with violent flashes.

Eventually, both sides were forced to retreat.

Clyde landed heavily on a floating platform and breathed hard. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His clothes were torn, and several burns covered his body.

He stared at the white serpent. He felt genuine difficulty. He had already killed nine serpents before. This final one had consumed more of his strength than all the others combined.

His magical energy was running low. Clyde tightened his grip around his sword.

But, the white serpent also appeared exhausted. Its enormous body rose and fell with heavy breaths. Several wounds covered its pale scales, and dark blood dripped from them.

But the worst wounds were its eyes. Blood flowed from the corners of both crimson eyes, the organs it had used to unleash the devastating red lightning.

The serpent lowered its head and stared at Clyde.

Clyde stared back.

None of them moved.

For several seconds, the ruined world became strangely quiet.

Clyde wiped the blood from his mouth.

"So you’re finally getting tired too," Clyde said.

The serpent answered with a low, furious growl.

Then suddenly, twhite serpent lunged first.

Clyde had not expected it to move so suddenly. Its enormous body surged forward with surprising speed, its jaws opening wide as rows of teeth rushed toward him.

Clyde immediately raised his sword. The serpent’s jaws crashed against the blade.

The impact sent a violent shock through his arms and launched him backward. His feet barely touched the ground before he was forced several meters across the square.

Clyde steadied himself and narrowed his eyes. The serpent did not give him time to recover. It lunged again.

This time, Clyde saw something different in its movements. There was no caution or attempt to defend its wounded body. The creature just threw itself forward, attacking with everything it had.

This was desperation.

Clyde’s expression became serious.

Perhaps the wounds had finally pushed the monster into a corner. Its bloodied eyes were still glowing with red lightning, but its movements had become less controlled. It was gambling everything.

The serpent swung its head violently, trying to crush Clyde beneath its jaws. Clyde twisted away and narrowly avoided the attack, but the monster immediately followed with another strike.

Clyde gritted his teeth. He tightened his grip around his sword.

The serpent roared and charged again.

Clyde lowered his stance.

If the monster wanted to gamble everything, then he would have to do the same.
