Everyone Swings Weapons I'm Too Lazy, So I Summon Their Attacks
Chapter 49 pittyful teamChapter 49: Chapter 49 pittyful team
The audience erupted into cheers once again for the victorious teams. Moments later, the announcer stepped forward to draw the lottery. After unfolding the slip, he smiled and declared,
"Ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow’s team battles will be..."
He unfolded the paper.
"Aurora City vs. Green City!"
"Dungeon City vs. Imperial City!"
The stadium exploded with excitement.
Later that evening, inside Aurora City’s camp, Captain Lyra gathered everyone for the strategy meeting.
"Green City lies in the northwest and is completely surrounded by ancient forests and nature reserves," she explained while pointing at the map. "The city itself is built among gigantic trees. It’s the perfect environment for Monster Tamers and Beast-related classes."
Everyone listened carefully.
"They’ll be fighting alongside their summoned beasts," Lyra continued. "Our plan is simple. Adrian, Alas, and Yor will focus on their captain and his strongest beast. Aster..."
She looked toward him. "You’ll keep the other three occupied."
Yor blinked. "Aster alone against three tamers and their beasts? Isn’t that too risky?"
Captain Lyra remained calm. "I’m confident he can handle it."
Alas chuckled. "Don’t worry. If we let him fight seriously, he could wipe them out by himself. Distracting them is the easiest job he could ask for."
Yor scratched his head. "Oh... right. I almost forgot what kind of monster he is."
Aster could only smile awkwardly.
The next morning, the stadium was packed once again.
The two teams entered the arena amid thunderous applause from the spectators.
They stood facing each other.
The announcer raised his hand.
"Team Battle... Start!"
Immediately, Green City’s team retreated a few steps. "Summon!" Four magic circles appeared beneath their feet.
A tall blond man summoned a massive Rock Golem. Its entire body was made of stone, while a huge crimson orb glowed brightly at the center of its chest. Its red eyes burned like molten lava.
A girl summoned an enormous white serpent. It hissed loudly, revealing two razor-sharp fangs capable of piercing steel.
A bulky man summoned a gigantic four-armed black gorilla. Thick muscles bulged across its body, and long fangs protruded from its mouth. Beating its chest with all four fists, it let out a loud roar that shook the arena.
Finally, Green City’s captain stepped forward. "Summon!" A brilliant emerald magic circle expanded beneath him.
A gigantic figure slowly emerged.
It had emerald scales, powerful wings, razor-sharp claws, and golden eyes filled with pride.
It was... A Lesser Dragon.
The entire stadium gasped. Many spectators had never seen a dragon before. Some stared in amazement. Others instinctively felt fear.
Even the commentators couldn’t hide their excitement.
"A DRAGON!"
Aster narrowed his eyes. "Even if it’s only a Lesser Dragon, a dragon is still a dragon. Every dragon possesses immense strength and overwhelming pride. Taming one requires far more than raw power. We can’t underestimate them."
Without hesitation, Adrian, Yor, and Alas charged toward the Green City’s captain. The Lesser Dragon spread its wings and intercepted them. Its enormous claws shredded the Treants and vines Yor summoned.
Alas’ Divine Smite struck repeatedly, leaving only shallow scratches across the dragon’s durable scales. Meanwhile, Adrian clashed directly with Green City’s captain.
Growing up in forests filled with magical beasts had made Green City’s students naturally agile and physically strong. The captain managed to block several of Adrian’s powerful strikes.
But only for a while.
Little by little...
He was forced backward.
Seeing their captain under pressure, the remaining three students rushed forward to help. A blur flashed before them.
Aster.
He stood quietly in their path. "You’re not going anywhere." The three tamers attacked together. Their summoned beasts charged simultaneously.
"Grapple."
Aster activated Dual Manifestation, wielding both his custom weapon and grappling gun. With his Level 50 Grapple, he could launch nearly twenty grappling lines every second from countless unpredictable angles.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
The battlefield instantly became a web of flashing cables.
The Green City students swung wildly. Every attack passed through...
An afterimage.
Another.
And another.
Within seconds, dozens of motionless images of Aster filled the arena. No one could tell which one was real.
"What...?"
"Which one’s the real one?!"
Even their beasts became confused. Unable to identify the real target, they began attacking wildly in every direction.
The arena shook beneath their frantic assaults. After several seconds...
Everything suddenly became still. The afterimages disappeared. The blond man laughed. "Haha! I knew you couldn’t keep doing those strange movements forever!"
BAM!
A massive fist smashed directly into his face. He was sent tumbling across the arena. He looked back and it was a Treant of Yor’s
"D-...Treant?" He shockedly shouted.
He looked up in disbelief. Only then did he notice...
Their captain...
And the Lesser Dragon...
Had already been defeated.
His face turned pale.
The girl gritted her teeth. "Don’t panic! They’re exhausted too! We still have a chance!"
Before anyone could react...
"Rebirth Palm."
Three emerald palms descended from the sky. They landed on Adrian, Yor, and Alas. Warm green light enveloped their bodies. Every injury disappeared. Their fatigue vanished instantly. Their mana rapidly recovered.
The three exchanged surprised looks before smiling. "We’re back to full strength."
The four-armed gorilla roared and smashed both fists into the arena. The ground exploded apart. Adrian activated Tempest Step, instantly leaping into the air and avoiding the devastating blow.
Crack! "Lightning drew" from above, striking the gorilla repeatedly. Though each blow dealt only moderate damage, they accumulated with every hit.
Meanwhile...
Yor’s Treants wrapped themselves around the giant white serpent. No matter how violently it struggled...
It couldn’t escape. It could only hiss in frustration.
On the opposite side... Alas focused entirely on the Rock Golem. His eyes locked onto the crimson orb embedded in its chest. Divine Smite! Golden light flashed.
Again.
And again.
Crack.
Tiny fractures spread across the glowing core. The golem staggered.
Everyone knew...
Once the core shattered...
The golem would become nothing more than a pile of lifeless rocks. Throughout the battle...
Aster remained standing calmly behind his teammates.
Whenever one of them was injured...
Rebirth Palm.
Whenever one of them became exhausted...
Rebirth Palm.
Every healing spell restored them almost instantly. He looked less like a fighter... And more like someone casually watching the battle unfold.
The audience almost began feeling sorry for Green City’s team.
"Is Aster even fighting?"
"He’s just standing there enjoying the show!"
Another spectator burst into laughter.
"I’ve never seen a more one-sided battle."
"They’re getting bullied!"
Unable to overcome Aurora City’s relentless assault, Green City’s formation finally collapsed. One after another, they fell to the ground. Their summoned beasts disappeared into light. The crimson gems on their belts lost their glow.
The announcer raised his voice.
"The winner of the second Team Battle..."
He paused dramatically.
"Aurora City!"
The stadium erupted into loud cheers.
The audience stood on their feet, applauding wildly.
After Aurora City’s victory, the second semifinal began.
Dungeon City clashed fiercely against Imperial City. The battle lasted far longer than the previous match.
After an intense struggle...
Dungeon City emerged victorious. The announcer stepped back onto the stage.
"We now have our two finalists!"
He paused as anticipation filled the stadium.
"Tomorrow’s Team Battle Final will be..."
"Dungeon City... versus Aurora City!"
The crowd erupted once more. One spectator shouted excitedly,
"Only Dungeon City’s captain managed to withstand Aster’s attack!"
Another nodded eagerly.
"Tomorrow’s final might be the greatest match we’ve ever witnessed!"
