The last head fell to the ground as Victor surveyed the group of 30 defeated knights. Their armor was riddled with fatal blows, and their bodies lay motionless on the floor.

"The first group is done," he murmured before turning around to see the girls suddenly teleport to him.

"What on heavens..." Valerie exclaimed when she saw the corpses lying on the floor, and her pupils suddenly contracted to the size of pinpricks when she bent down and touched one of the corpses, which showed ??? in level and tier, which meant they were higher than Tier 2. ’How on Earth did he manage this... did his cat do it?’

Valerie had a look of disbelief on her face as she stared intently at Lilith, like she was some kind of treasure she wanted to snatch from Victor.

Lilith, who was licking her little paws and was on top of Victor’s right shoulder, suddenly felt a wave of danger. All the hairs on her body stood on end as she looked around warily for danger and noticed Valerie looking at her with a weird and intense gaze, which sent a chill down her spine.

"Lady, why are you looking at Miss Lilith like that?" Lilith’s voice rang out as she waved her paws threateningly at Valerie.

"Ah, sorry." Valerie snapped out of her thoughts and flushed in embarrassment when she realized that she was behaving like a creep.

Victor did not pay them any attention as his eyes swept over the cores, which were imbued with darkness, lying on the ground.

He calmly retrieved the key from his inventory, and all of a sudden, what seemed like the key formed a little mouth. Suddenly, all the cores that were lying motionlessly on the ground started to vibrate and then hover in the air.

"Huh, what’s happening?" Amber said, startled, seeing the hovering cores, and then saw all the cores flying towards Victor, more specifically, towards the key in Victor’s hand.

Victor looked at the key and saw it greedily sucking in all the mana cores attributed to darkness, making crunching sounds as it chewed the cores, and after it had consumed all the cores, the mouth vanished.

"Oh, that’s progress," Victor muttered as he saw the increase in progress.

"What is this key?" Valerie walked closer to Victor and asked as she stared intently at the key.

"Something personal," Victor said as he put the key back into his inventory.

Valerie rolled her eyes but did not push any further, as she knew not to cross boundaries, as she would also not tell a secret that easily to someone she had just met.

Clang

Everyone’s eyes snapped towards the side when they heard the sound of something opening.

Their eyes widened when they saw a door materialize in front of them.

"Should we go in?" Valerie said, looking at the door suspiciously, but before she could say anything, Rina pushed her away.

Bang

A huge metallic wall appeared where she was standing.

"That was a close one," Rina said. That thing wouldn’t harm her, but Valerie was different.

"Thanks." Valerie’s heart pounded as she looked back. If that had fallen on her, she would have been seriously injured at the very least.

Bang Bang

More metallic walls appeared, blocking their path back.

"Looks like the castle wants us to go forward," Amber said, narrowing her eyes.

"Couldn’t your cat break the wall?" Valerie asked Victor and then looked at Lilith.

"She can, but I want to continue," Victor said calmly, petting Lilith as Valerie looked at Victor speechlessly and then said, "You are really bold."

"Thanks, now let’s go," Victor said as they then vanished through the door.

Victor took the first step and arrived in front of the throne room, advancing across the throne room, while a knight stood beside the chair of some king Victor had no idea who might be, though the knight was clearly guarding the seat while holding his sword, its tip resting on the ground. He stood in a guard position, his gaze fixed on Victor, with the slit in his helmet gleaming where his eyes should have been.

"A type of guard... Is there no king here?" Victor murmured, walking calmly, though sensing this was no ordinary figure due to the strength he emanated.

Victor used his pupil technique on the knight, and the information appeared.

[Guardian Knight of Darkness]

[Tier: 4]

[Level: 499]

"A Tier 4," Victor muttered.

"This aura..." Valerie, who had just entered, had her face go as white as a sheet of paper.

"Calm down, look, it’s not going to attack." Amber was also a bit panicked, but not like Valerie, who did not know about Victor’s true strength. Hearing Amber, Valerie calmed down, but there was still a trace of fear on her face.

Then, the knight made his first move. It raised its sword and pointed towards Victor, and hundreds of Tier 2 and Tier 3 knights surrounded them.

"Ah shit, this is still fucked up," Valerie said and broke out in a cold sweat as she could feel that, unlike the aberrant knight near the throne, these knights wanted to slice them into pieces.

"Get ready," Victor warned in a cold voice and then looked at Lilith and said, "Little, didn’t you say you always wanted to be the first one to fight? Here, this is your chance," Victor said to the cat on his shoulder.

"Really?" Lilith’s eyes grew bright, and she hurriedly jumped down to the floor, afraid Victor might change his decision. "Miss Lilith will take care of them."

Lilith’s eyes narrowed like a predator’s as she looked at the knights. "All of you are going to be Miss Lilith’s hunt."

Inside the Dungeon

There were numerous tents erected in the dungeon belonging to the World Awakeners Association and Academy, who were responsible for monitoring the dungeon and the students of the Academy who had just entered.

Inside the second-largest tent, Lance was reading a book while sipping coffee from his mug as he flipped through the pages.

Buzz

"Oh, someone already killed a Magical Beast so quickly... It has been only a few hours," Lance said with a smile as he turned to look at the electronic band on his wrist and pressed the button, and a hologram showing the scores of every student appeared.

"What on heavens?" Lance’s eyes widened in shock when he saw the numbers beside Victor, Rina, Amber, and Valerie’s names. The number of kills was in double digits, and even the lowest kill count, which was Valerie’s, was over 20.

"It’s still increasing, and so fast," Lance’s mouth hung open as he saw the numbers climbing, and Victor’s kill score had just crossed 100. He was wondering if they had provoked a horde of monsters and whether he needed to go to save them. He could do that, as he had placed special markers on their devices to track them and could almost teleport to them if they were nearby, and if they were far away, he could reach them with a few more short teleports thanks to a rare item drop he had gotten.

Just as he was pondering, an attendant rushed into his tent, which made him frown, but seeing his expression, he asked, "What happened?"

"Headmaster, you need to come to the monitoring room. You need to see this..." the attendant said with a flushed face, as if he had seen a ghost, and ran from it.

Lance sighed and stood up, then walked calmly out of the tent with the attendant trailing behind him nervously.

Lance walked towards the largest tent in the area. As soon as he entered, the first sight he was greeted with was hundreds of large glowing screens displaying the journey of every individual student so that if anything went wrong, they could see it and send reinforcements. They had only told Lance that they would arrive and not that they would be monitored, as if they knew they were being observed 24 hours a day, they might get complacent, thinking rescue was only a moment’s notice away.

Lance frowned slightly when he saw all the officials had crowded in front of one monitor and were watching silently without making a sound. Lance could not see anything as the screen was completely blocked by the people.

Lance calmly walked towards them and said, "What’s going on?"

His voice seemed to jolt them out of their reverie, as they did not say anything and just blankly moved away from the screen.

When Lance’s eyes fell on the screen, he had a calm expression, but after a few seconds had passed, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets and his jaw dropped to the ground.

"What the hell?" Even Lance cursed upon seeing what was on the screen. It was Lilith, who was moving across the battlefield and slaughtering the Magical Beasts, and even injuring many of the beasts for Victor, Amber, Rina, and Valerie to kill.
