Evolution Online: Building a Kingdom with 100\% drop rate
Chapter 250: Ch-250: Dungeon Trip (5)When Lance’s eyes fell on the screen, he had a calm expression, but after a few seconds had passed, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets and his jaw dropped to the ground.
"What the hell?" Even Lance cursed upon seeing what was on the screen. It was Lilith, who was moving across the battlefield and slaughtering the Magical Beasts, and even injuring many of the beasts for Victor, Amber, Rina, and Valerie to kill.
"What on heavens is that cat... No, is that thing still a cat?" someone exclaimed, but no one responded to his question, as they were equally baffled and as shocked as him.
Lance was also watching Lilith with shock as the screen showed their battle. He got goosebumps from the knight near the throne, and his body gave a jolt. ’Damn, this feeling... It’s definitely a Tier 3 or higher.’
Lance broke out in a cold sweat as he could feel a sense of dread even looking at it from the screen.
"Is that some kind of contracted beast? How dare he take this beast with him... It’s cheating," one of the teachers watching the video frowned as she said this.
Lance, who heard this, turned around and said in a neutral voice, "Actually, it’s not unfair, and it’s within the rules."
Hearing Lance suddenly speak up, everyone looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Have you forgotten... there are a few handfuls of students who can tame beasts to fight for them? I remember your nephew is also a beast tamer," Lance calmly explained as he looked at the teacher who had raised the question in the first place.
"T-That’s..." the teacher stammered, unable to refute his words, and became speechless. Indeed, there were a handful of beast tamers in the Academy, but they were far weaker compared to the cat that was slaughtering the Magical Beasts in the video. Most of them were as strong as the middle-ranged Awakeners of the Academy.
Lance snorted and then turned his attention back to the screen and frowned as he thought, ’How did he acquire this cat... This cat might be the second strongest being on Earth other than Faceless.’
Lance brought out a rectangular button and looked at it as he whispered, "Should I press it and directly go and help them or not?"
Lance hesitated, as pressing the button would enable him to directly teleport to them, but then his eyes turned towards the Guardian Knight near the throne, who just calmly looked at the group fighting and had no intention of intervening in the fight. What if the knight, which was an observer, became a participant if he intervened in what seemed like some kind of trial? That’s what he was most worried about.
From its aura, he could tell that even if he went and teamed up with everyone there, there was no guarantee they could escape from the knight. He did not even dare to think about any possibility of defeating it, but just escaping.
"Just to be safe, I will teleport to a nearby area," Lance said, and one of the instructors saw this and asked, "Headmaster, are you going to save them?"
"Not exactly, I will not intervene just right away," Lance said as he then pressed the button, but nothing happened. He blinked and then pressed the button again, and his expression changed as sweat started trickling down his forehead. He kept pressing the button, but nothing happened at all.
"Headmaster, what’s wrong? Are you sick?" someone asked, noticing the sweat on his forehead.
"Wait a second," Lance said as he vanished from his place and then reappeared after a few seconds.
"The item I got still works, as I teleported near another student nearby... Looks like something is blocking my teleportation," Lance said barely above a whisper, and the instructors who heard this had their expressions change.
"Heavens, doesn’t that mean they are on their own?" a female teacher gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands and looked at the screen.
---
"Haha, Miss Lilith is having so much fun!" Lilith shouted as electricity crackled around her paws. She moved across the battlefield, killing the knights with one shot and leaving the others gravely injured for Victor and the girls to kill.
Victor’s lips twitched when he saw the manic look Lilith had on her face, like she was enjoying the massacre.
Victor’s eyes went towards the throne, and he looked at the Guardian and saw its pupils moving and watching Lilith under its visor, but most of the time, its gaze was fixated on him, as it could tell he was the strongest.
"Holy shit... I have never leveled up this much in such a short amount of time," Valerie exclaimed as her eyes gleamed while she looked at her status window. She had just killed another darkness-attributed knight and leveled up again. This was the tenth time she had just leveled up.
"Victor, can you lend me Lilith sometimes?" Valerie said, looking at Victor with expectation, which caused his lips to twitch, and he said, "You have to ask Lilith later."
Victor had an amused expression. He did not restrict Lilith; if she wanted to help Valerie, he would let her.
"Sigh, acting weak is difficult," Amber whispered to Rina.
"Yeah," Rina nodded with a sigh, as there was no choice since Valerie was with them.
Victor watched as Lilith killed the last Knight of Darkness and walked towards him with blood covering her whole body. She looked more like a demonic cat.
"Sir Victor, Miss Lilith killed them... Hmm, can you please help Miss Lilith clean herself?" Lilith said as her small face contorted into a grimace at the thought of bathing, but her current state was even worse, and she chose the lesser evil.
"Sure," Victor said as he opened his inventory and brought out a cleaning potion and poured it over her body. First, magically, she got wet, then soapy foam appeared all over her body, and then it got rinsed off, and what seemed like steam dried her body.
"Hmm, Miss Lilith looks much better," Lilith nodded and then jumped back onto Victor’s shoulder.
"Looks like it’s over," Valerie said as she walked towards Victor.
"Not exactly," Victor said, and Valerie’s expression changed as her eyes snapped towards the throne and saw the knight, who had been stationary, move.
"Lilith can defeat it, right?" Valerie said, moving closer towards Lilith as she swallowed hard.
Victor did not respond as he watched the Guardian descend with its eyes completely fixated on Victor and ignoring the others as if they did not matter at all.
Suddenly, it pointed its long sword towards his direction and then...
Victor’s instinct immediately screamed danger, and he shouted, "Hurry, take cover!"
The girls were startled, but before they could even react, a dark aura erupted from the knight’s body, spreading across the entire room.
"Ugh!" Victor groaned as he developed a severe headache and felt like someone had struck him in the head with a large warhammer as he held his head with both his hands.
Thud Thud Thud
Victor’s head snapped towards his back, and his pupils dilated when he saw the three women had fallen unconscious and collapsed to the ground after getting hit by that dark aura.
He hurriedly went to the girls and checked them, then breathed a sigh of relief as he muttered, "They just lost consciousness. Nothing else is wrong on the surface... It must be some kind of mental attack."
But before he could even react, he saw the surroundings start to distort, and after a few seconds, the walls were replaced by dried-up trees.
"Did we get teleported again?" Victor frowned as he looked at the surroundings. It was completely eerie, as there were bones of different creatures lying on the ground, and there was a gigantic door in front of him.
"Huh?" Victor looked at it. The key, which was silently resting in his inventory, automatically came out and started to tremble violently, and he said in a whisper, "Is this the gate to the Planet of Devils?"
Victor’s eyes shone as he took one step forward, but then his expression changed as he jumped back.
Bang
Woosh
A large sword slash cut through the ground where he had been standing, and he saw the knight staring at him with battle intent. The way he was positioning himself before the gate was as if he were here to prevent anyone from entering the gate.
"Looks like I need to defeat you first," Victor’s eyes narrowed as black lightning flickered across his body. He could go all out without restraint, as Valerie was unconscious now.
"My soldiers, take them far away from the fight and guard them, Lilith." As Victor’s voice fell, his shadow ripped open, and shadow wolves emerged from it. They obeyed him as they lifted them with their mouths and carried them away.
"You can count on Miss Lilith, Sir Victor," Lilith said as she also backed away.
"Now, let’s begin," Victor said as white armor covered his body, and he charged towards the knight, and the knight also dashed towards Victor.
Bang
