"That’s not a Slime." The White-Haired woman hurriedly said, but she was too far away from her team to warn them when a white mist suddenly filled the area, obscuring her vision and making her weapon useless.

Her partner had a look of shock on her face, as she immediately knew who that was. "Are you saying that’s... Kaelen Cross?"

"But if he died and had to respawn, do you think it’ll be the same spot he died?" She asked almost immediately.

The white-haired woman was silent for a moment, her expression dark.

"That’s because he didn’t."

Kaelen looked down in shock and disbelief to see a gaping hole in his chest. His ears were ringing, and he felt drained of all the strength in his body as the Reapers Angels Wings automatically deactivated and he tipped downwards.

But even after falling for a while, Kaelen came to realize something vital: not only was he not dead after having his chest blown off, he wasn’t even in any sort of pain.

His chest just felt numb and cold, but the numbness was slowly receding and the cold seemed to come from freezing weather.

That was when Kaelen looked down at his chest again, and his eyes widened in surprise at what he saw.

The exact same scene from the tower dungeon was replaying once more. The area surrounding his chest was covered in a gelatinous substance and was slowly repairing itself like a slime, just like when he impersonated Guild Leader Babrus.

Except, Kaelen wasn’t in a game this time.

He was fully human, and had been shot by the most powerful sniper he’d ever come across, who hit his heart. But he wasn’t dead. Because the lump in his throat he thought was the feeling of death... was simply his life core.

He had transcended mortality, and the boundaries between the game and the real world had begun to blur.

Previously, he was too high up that he couldn’t detect what was on the ground. But it was different now. He immediately picked up the signal of several lifeforms surrounding him.
