The atmosphere became increasingly tense.

The stone-skinned man tightened his grip around his hammer. The winged woman's six transparent wings slowly spread behind her.

The crimson-armored figure lowered their body slightly, while the old mage's fingers remained wrapped firmly around his wooden staff.

Across from them, the four wolves were equally prepared. A battle could erupt at any moment.

Michael's earlier excitement had already faded considerably. More importantly, if the battle became too destructive, there was no guarantee his stealth would remain effective.

'I should move back a little.'

Michael carefully studied his surroundings. He needed to create some distance without attracting attention. His stealth abilities were powerful, but they didn't make him nonexistent. If he moved too quickly or accidentally disturbed the surrounding energy, any one of these Level 100 beings might notice him.

Michael had just decided on a route when the silver wolf suddenly spoke.

"Since you refuse to leave…" Its glowing eyes slowly swept across the surroundings. "…why don't the others hiding nearby come out as well?"

Michael's heart sank.

'Damn.'

For a moment, he genuinely thought he had been discovered. His consciousness instantly connected with the engraving of the Undead High Drake.

The slightest thought was all he needed, and it would appear. Perhaps because of the heightened tension surrounding him, Michael almost summoned it immediately.

However, at the final moment, he stopped himself.

'Wait.'

Michael forced his body to remain perfectly still. His heartbeat slowed. If the wolf had truly discovered him, why hadn't it looked in his direction? More importantly, it had said others.

Michael waited.

One second. Two. Three.

Nothing happened.

The silver wolf's eyes became colder.

"Must I drag you out?"

Whoosh!

A brilliant golden light suddenly erupted from the distant forest. Michael's pupils contracted.

A figure rose into the sky. Six white wings spread behind him, each feather glowing with dense energy. His hair flowed freely behind him, while an ornate wand remained tightly held in one hand.

Michael's eyes widened.

'Him?!'

How could he not recognize him? The Rank Four angel. The same man who had chased him for his treasure alongside two other Level 100 awakeners shortly after entering the Fourth Layer.

Michael's expression immediately became strange.

'What kind of coincidence is this?'

However, before he could properly process Lord Seraphiel's appearance, the temperature suddenly increased.

FWOOSH!

Scarlet flames erupted from another section of the forest. The flames spiraled into the sky before gradually gathering into a humanoid figure.

A middle-aged man with a bare upper body stepped out from the sea of fire. Long crimson hair rested against his shoulders, while a pair of enormous wings formed entirely from scarlet flames burned behind him.

Michael's heart skipped again.

'The phoenix too?!'

His expression almost collapsed. He recognized this person as well. These two were precisely among the people who had caused him the most trouble after he first entered the Fourth Layer.

The angel. And the phoenix.

Michael stared at them silently.

'This world is too small.'

No. The Fourth Layer was enormous. That made the situation even stranger. He had spent almost three days wandering randomly, only to encounter two people he already knew in the first Level 3 region he entered.

Fortunately, neither seemed to have noticed him.

The phoenix's expression was noticeably ugly as he stared at the silver wolf. The angel, on the other hand, appeared far calmer.

"So you noticed us too."

The silver wolf snorted.

"You outsiders are terrible at hiding."

Michael's expression became slightly offended.

'Don't include me.'

He was still hidden. That alone proved his stealth was clearly on another level entirely.

The stone-skinned man looked toward the two newcomers and frowned.

"More people?"

The old mage's eyes narrowed slightly. Unlike his companion, he appeared to recognize something.

"Celestial race…" His gaze then shifted toward the crimson-haired young man. "…and Phoenix Clan."

The angel ignored him. His eyes remained fixed on the tower. The phoenix glanced at the four Epic Grade wolves before turning toward the angel.

"Still want to try?"

The angel remained silent for several seconds. Then he slowly nodded.

"Yes."

Michael's eyes brightened.

The silver wolf's expression, however, became colder.

"Six." Black mist spread further across the ground. "Six outsiders who cannot understand a simple word."

The three-headed wolf growled. The armored wolf lowered its enormous body. The four-winged wolf vanished.

BOOOOM!!

The ground suddenly exploded. The stone-skinned man's expression changed drastically as a black blur appeared directly before him.

CLANG!

His massive hammer rose just in time. A bone blade collided against its surface. The resulting shockwave tore through the forest for several kilometers.

The battle had begun.

Michael remained perfectly still. Yet beneath his concealment, a smile slowly spread across his face.

'Six against four…'

His gaze moved toward the ancient tower. Then toward the nearly one thousand wolves surrounding it. Finally, he looked at the angel.

Michael's smile widened. It seemed leaving the Origin Battlefield soon was no longer an option. Not that he was complaining. All he wanted them to do was fight, and he would clean up afterward.

For the first time since becoming a supernatural, Michael was playing the role of the fisherman. Well. Perhaps it was the second time.

AWOOOOOOOOOOO!

His amusement lasted exactly three seconds before the four wolves howled simultaneously.

The sound erupted from four directions at once. It wasn't merely loud.

The combined howl carried an almost physical force, spreading through the ancient forest in visible waves. Leaves tore from branches. Loose stones trembled. Even the clouds above the dark sky seemed to scatter beneath the sound.

Everyone's expression changed, including Michael's.

Hearing the howl, they all remembered the nearly one thousand Rank Four monsters outside.

RUMBLE!

The earth began to shake. Michael's perception immediately caught hundreds of auras changing direction at once. The wolves that had previously been scattered throughout the enormous nest were moving, and they were all coming here fast.

Michael's smile vanished.

'Time to go.'

The four Epic Grade wolves hadn't actually needed to howl to alert their subordinates. With the scale of the battle that had just erupted, the other wolves would have discovered the intruders sooner or later. The howl had simply accelerated the process considerably.

Everyone's expression grew ugly. There were six powerful awakeners here against four Epic Grade wolves, and nearly a thousand Rank Four monsters rapidly approaching.

The numbers suddenly didn't look very favorable. They hadn't even had time to properly isolate the area, and it seemed the four wolves had already accounted for that.

Michael carefully began retreating.

'Good luck.'

His fisherman career had ended before it could properly begin. He hadn't even caught a single fish.

Just as it seemed everyone was preparing to retreat, the old mage suddenly spoke.
