The vicious father and son naturally did not allow the Duke even the slightest chance to get past them and rescue his people, especially now that the Duke’s Psychic constructs were being burned to a crisp by the Demon’s harrowing flames once again.
Allen said through gritted teeth, "How is this possible? How can your flames change to burn my constructs? They should be absolutely immune to any flames now."
Axel smiled as he spoke in an overbearing tone, locking his gaze onto his opponent.
"Because ultimately, Duke, your Will is weak and mine is not." He let the words hang in the air for a moment, letting the absolute confidence in his voice sink in before he continued. "As such, I simply willed my flames to be able to set aflame even the elements that are non-flammable."
The Duke’s expression twisted into a mask of pure annoyance. His gaze automatically shifted away from Axel, tracking the movement of the monstrous demonic armada that was currently wreaking havoc on the loyal forces of his family. In particular, his wrathful eyes lingered heavily on the terrifying figure of Gareth.
Gareth was currently radiating the peak power of the fourth phase, utilising his complete demonic might to tear through the battlefield. He alone was slaughtering most of the strongest powerhouses on the side of the Duskers, breaking their defensive lines with absolute ease.
The Duke’s eyes flashed with a sudden, murderous rage as his focus snapped back to the Demon of Despair standing before him. When he spoke, his voice carried a heavy tone of finality. "Demon, you targeted the wrong person to be your enemy."
Axel did not bother to give a verbal answer. He merely flapped his malevolent, leathery demonic bat wings, cutting through the heavy air with a sudden burst of speed. He dashed forward once more through the sky, eager to meet the Duke again in a resounding physical clash.
The corner of Allen Dusker’s mouth rose in a mocking sneer at the incoming assault. Instead of retreating, his figure rose much higher into the atmosphere, carried upward by the violent winds.
The skies around them were filled with a chaotic mix of blackened demonic energy and turbulent mana, turning the daylight into a bruised, dark twilight.
As he reached the apex of his ascent, the Duke whispered the words.
These were words that were strictly barred from ever being spoken by the collective decree of all three Kings of humanity. It was the activation phrase for the very ability that all fifth-phase existences were absolutely forbidden from using under any circumstances.
The Dusker Patriarch proclaimed the forbidden technique in a divine, echoing tone that resonated through the heavens.
"Territorial Manifestation, Land of the Fallen Ones."
In that exact instant, Axel was forced to stop dead in mid-flight. His movement was halted not by a physical barrier, but by the sheer force of his own demonic instincts. The demon suddenly felt an unprecedented level of danger, a primal terror unlike anything he had ever experienced in his entire life.
The moment the divine words of the Duke fell upon reality, an undeniable wave of absolute energy spread outward from his figure.
It was a power so absurdly immense that it immediately began to alter the world, the physical space, and reality itself. The expanding wave encompassed a gargantuan expanse, stretching so far into the distance that the naked eye could easily see its horizon.
It felt as if a completely separate world had been forcibly superimposed upon reality, overwriting the existing rules of the land in the exact image of the man who had wielded this power.
A massive domain had been formed, a domain that was completely, absolutely, and irrefutably under the total command of the mighty Allen Dusker.
This entire transformation occurred in less than one-tenth of a second.
The speed of the execution was so incredibly fast that Axel, despite his boundless demonic might and enhanced reflexes, could neither fully comprehend what was happening nor escape the clutches of the harrowing domain.
Once that domain was firmly established, completely overwriting the Will of Eldarion’s original influence, Axel felt his skin crawl with a deep sense of dread.
The sudden weight pressing against his body was entirely different from the worldly retaliation he had faced before from the rage of the World’s Will.
Instead, this was something far more severe. It felt as if he were standing directly within the palm of his mortal enemy, feeling so incredibly vulnerable that he could be crushed to death at any given moment.
His ancient Demon bloodline sent frantic warning signals to his brain without stopping, screaming at him to flee a space that had become entirely hostile to his existence.
Daniel was not feeling any better down within the subconscious link. In fact, he was feeling much worse, his soul shaking from the sheer pressure of the domain.
However, the Silver Rune armour seemed to hold its ground against the crushing weight. The golden radiance emanating from the etched runes began to shimmer even brighter than before, like an engine forced into a dangerous state of overdrive to protect its master.
Axel stared at the Duke with extreme caution. His narrowed, slit-like white pupils gazed at the older man coldly, analysing every shift in the air currents. The very world he was standing upon had been completely altered.
The skies above, the earth below, the ambient air, and every single ounce of magical energy in the vicinity were now under the absolute control of the mighty Duke.
More than a simple spell, this domain was the physical reflection of the Duke’s inner Soul Sanctum, forcefully manifested onto reality through sheer power.
The Duke let out a hearty, booming laughter as he noticed the cautious, tense expression on the Demon’s face.
He spoke at a leisurely, arrogant pace, completely relaxed within his own world.
"Demon, you see, this is the true might of a fifth phase existence. We possess the ability to temporarily seize the aspect chambers and thus manifest that ethereal plane of existence onto reality through the sheer, brute Will of oneself."
He paused, adjusting his stance in the air as the domain stabilised around them.
"It is the very culmination of the Seeker’s Path truly being materialised for the first time. To truly force the world to change based entirely on your whims, rather than letting the world change you."
Axel scoffed, his voice laced with venom despite the immense pressure bearing down on his chest. "You talk as if the price to activate your innate Territory is cheap. We both know a technique like this demands a toll."
The Duke’s smile only widened at the remark, his confidence remaining unshaken. "Does the price matter in the end? It changes nothing. You will still die within the boundaries of my territory before the toll can ever claim me."
He continued, his voice rising into a thunderous, deafening roar that shook the very air of the manifested realm. "So, allow me to show you the true, unbridled might of my territory."
The greatest benefit of being able to establish one’s innate territory was the absolute freedom it provided.
It allowed the user to impose one hundred per cent of their original might without any external interference, as the natural World Will and its constant suppression became entirely non-existent within that isolated domain.
Free from those universal shackles, the Duke could finally display the true, terrifying power of his Arcane magic of Psychic Construction.
Within that darkened world, strange movements began to occur beneath the modified ground. Axel could see hazy, distorted shapes crawling up from the soil through his specialised Runic eyes. At first, these figures were completely indistinct, looking like formless lumps of grey energy.
Slowly, their visages cleared, rapidly taking the distinct shape of human beings. However, the powerful pressure radiating from these figures could not be measured in any normal sense. They were clearly not just standard humans. They were past humans of overwhelming, unquestionable might.
Of course, if anyone else had been standing upon that darkened world, they would have seen absolutely nothing but space. Only Axel’s Runic eyes allowed him to visually track the entities made out of the Duke’s Psychic Construct.
Meanwhile, his advanced Energy-Sense allowed him to perceive these abstract creatures through his mind, mapping their movements perfectly.
His Despair-attributed demonic flames also remained a viable tool, allowing him to fend off the incorporeal threats actively. Even now, those biological advantages held, but the sheer number of powerful humanoid figures being birthed from the Duke’s magic was horrendous.
A shocking realisation suddenly dawned on Axel’s mind as he connected the pieces of the Duke’s past. The demon asked in a tense voice, "Don’t tell me, these are all the powerhouses who died in your hands over the centuries? You can reanimate their very spirits through your psychic construction?"
The Duke did not bother to answer the question. He sneered, his eyes locked onto his target as he dashed forward alongside his thousand-strong army of animated humanoid experts, initiating a brutal charge to end the fight.
