Daniel was forced back by a violent burst of World Force from the Duke’s body, creating critical space between them. Axel seized that exact moment, swiping his heavy demonic claws through the air. Arcs of dual colored despair flames burst forward, slicing toward the Duke in an overlapping grid of fire.
In response, Duke Allen gestured wildly. Hundreds of long, thick chains tipped with serrated daggers materialised around his figure, shooting outward toward Axel like a swarm of iron vipers.
To an ordinary onlooker, the Duke appeared to execute no technique at all, for the psychic constructs forming the chains remained entirely invisible to normal sight and imperceptible to ordinary senses.
Only someone like him who possessed the mutated Runic Eyes and the Energy Sense skill could track their rapid trajectory through the air.
However, the Duke was already aware that this advantage was gone. He knew the demon possessed an incredible method of sensing his abstract constructs, just as Daniel could loosely track them through his runic armour.
But seeing how easily Osiris had slaughtered his invisible army, an armada that no opponent had ever survived before, Allen understood that the demon did not merely sense these constructs.
He saw them with absolute clarity, tracking every chain with surgical accuracy.
When the flamed demonic claws clashed against the storm of bladed chains, the true essence of despair ripped through the psychic constructs.
The dual colored fire devoured the energy holding the chains together, shattering them far more easily than the Duke had thought possible. Severed links of invisible psychic energy dissolved into air, and for the second time, the entire domain buckled under the shock of the impact.
Knowing his chains could not hold the demon, Duke Allen immediately executed another counterattack. He slammed his palms directly into the air below him, sending a massive shockwave down into the earth far beneath their feet.
The ground beneath them quaked violently. Towering pillars of mud, stone, and crushed masonry rose into the sky, their shapes altering at a terrifying speed under the influence of psychic force.
The earthen mass shifted and moulded itself under the Duke’s command, rapidly expanding into a gargantuan humanoid entity.
Axel observed the rising construct with a cold glance. The creature stood as tall as an eight-story building, its massive body composed of packed earth, heavy stone, and twisted steel reinforcement.
Its face was a featureless mask of rock, and its limbs were thick columns capable of levelling mountains.
The Duke’s voice echoed across the sky in a desperate roar. "Kill the hateful demon, my Psychic spirit!"
Axel let out a low chuckle, recognising the mechanics behind the construct. This was another creation born of the Duke’s Psychic Energy.
But rather than building a puppet purely out of intangible psychic force, which would require energy the Duke no longer possessed in abundance, he used his psychic energy as a structural frame.
He moulded the physical materials of the domain around that frame, constructing a massive physical vessel.
Axel showed no hint of fear. With a single explosive step against the air, he launched himself upward, leaving a trail of dark, burning flames along his flight path.
As if answering his movement, a blinding star of radiant silver shot up from the ground below. Daniel moved in perfect harmony with his son, his silver runic armour blazing with concentrated energy, his blade ready to cut through stone.
The earthen titan raised both of its massive hands high into the air, its shadow casting darkness over the battlefield as it intended to crush both insect-sized opponents into paste with a single downward smash.
Axel swiped his demonic claws horizontally toward the titan’s throat, sending a crescent blade of dual colored fire through the air. At the same moment, Daniel drove his silver runic blade along the same plane from the opposite side.
Father and son attacked in flawless synchronisation, requiring no spoken words, no signals, or prior preparation.
A sharp, metallic rending sound echoed across the entire domain.
Light and darkness intersected within the stone neck, cutting cleanly through the giant’s throat and severing both of its massive descending arms at the elbows before the hands could reach them.
The severed head and gargantuan hands of the titan plummeted to the earth below. When they struck the ground, a terrifying quake rippled across every corner of the domain, sending clouds of dust billowing hundreds of feet into the air.
With the giant puppet dismantled, the Duke suffered another crushing backlash, coughing up fresh blood as he hovered in the sky. His aura flickered wildly, his energy reserves plunging toward exhaustion.
Both father and son met the bloodied, shaking figure of the Duke with cold, unyielding gazes.
Fear and desperation finally broke through Allen’s composed facade. No longer the arrogant and dignified powerhouse who ruled the duchy, he roared in blind fury. "You cannot kill me, Osiris! As long as my domain is active, you cannot truly kill me!"
To that desperate claim, Axel smiled for the first time since the battle began. Beneath the skull mask that clung to his face, his expression transformed into an utterly ominous, ruthless grin.
The Demon spoke, his voice carrying an absolute, chilling weight that resonated through the realm. "Then I will destroy your Innate Territory itself."
Without waiting for the Duke to digest his words, Axel slowly glided down to the cracked earth below.
Duke Allen watched in perplexity, but a deep sense of dread settled in his chest. He knew the words sounded logically impossible. An innate territory could not be destroyed unless the caster was defeated or slain, yet as long as the territory remained active, the caster was functionally immortal within its bounds.
It was a perfect, self-contained loop from which an intruder could not escape. The best way to counter a Manifested Territory was to expand one’s own Innate Territory on top of it, a capability that neither Axel nor Daniel possessed.
Unconcerned with those established rules, Axel dropped to one knee upon the fractured earth.
He clenched his right fist with terrifying force, channelling every ounce of his physical power and the full output of his dual colored despair flames into his arm. His white veins pulsed wildly as the essence of despair gathered in his knuckles.
He smashed his fist directly into the ground.
BANG!!!
A deafening shockwave erupted. Blackness and decay spread outward from the impact site like a malicious plague, corrupting the earth for hundreds of meters in every direction.
Axel raised his fist and struck the ground a second time.
BAAAAANG!!!!
An even greater tremor rattled the realm, fracturing the bedrock deep beneath the surface and tearing open massive fissures across the plain.
He struck again, and again, and again.
BOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Impact after impact rained down upon the earth in a relentless, punishing rhythm.
The sound grew from heavy thuds into cataclysmic booms that reverberated through the sky. It no longer sounded as though the demon were merely punching the ground.
He was systematically shattering the foundational tectonic construct that held the domain together, injecting pure despair directly into the spatial framework of the Duke’s ability.
Duke Allen’s heart hammered in terror like never before. He could feel the very roots of his Innate Territory fracturing under the relentless assault, sending painful feedback through his soul with every strike.
Spurred by desperation, the Duke attempted to swoop down and strike Axel, but Daniel intercepted him instantly.
His silver runic blade flashed in a series of blinding strikes, locking the Duke in place and blocking every desperate attempt to disrupt the demon’s work.
Axel maintained his relentless rhythm, driving his despair-infused strikes into the earth without pause. Black and white flames leaked into the deep cracks of the world, dissolving the psychic framework from beneath.
With a sound like the shattering of a thousand sheets of glass, the domain finally fractured.
The sky cracked open, the artificial realm dissolved into glittering light, and all three figures materialised back in the real world, suspended in the sky high above the bloodied Dusker mansion.
