{Warning: There will be severe brutality in this Chapter}

"After all, this is the story that you started," Axel said, his tone dripping with a cold, menacing venom. "The story that started... all due to your incompetence."

The words hung in the freezing air, heavy as lead. Daniel’s entire frame trembled in violent, uncontrollable rage, his jaw clenching so hard his teeth threatened to shatter.

A hideous, grotesque grimace of unparalleled fury twisted his features as pitch-black darkness encroached upon his once-pure white soul. The last lingering shreds of his humanity dissolved into the abyss.

Slowly, with terrifying deliberation, his right hand reached down toward the fallen blade resting in the pooling blood. His fingers curled around the leather-bound hilt, gripping it until his knuckles turned bone-white.

He dragged himself up to his feet, the sound of his heavy boots echoing off the ruined hall. With his left hand, the Nomrad Patriarch pulled the rune helmet out of his head, revealing the monstrous expression.

His monstrous expression was concealed, yet the murderous intent radiating from him was suffocating. Across the shattered chamber, the faces of the mother and son turned ashen, deathly pale.

Duchess Livia felt a cold sweat drenching her skin. Though she was a powerful 3rd Phase Seeker, her refined powers were utterly useless in the face of the demonic aura saturating the room.

The only option remaining that posed any threat was to detonate her own Soul Sanctum in a suicidal burst. Yet, even that desperate escape was denied to her by the meticulous, cruel machinations of the demon standing nearby.

This time, as Daniel turned his helmeted gaze toward the two surviving Duskers, there was no compassion left within him. The internal conflict that had tormented his mind for years vanished, leaving behind only an absolute and utterly vicious cruelty.

For a brief moment, the Patriarch’s gaze shifted toward the severed head pinned atop the bloody iron spear. Wearing that peaceful smile.

Daniel stared down at the lifeless face with a chilling, detached emptiness.

Without any hint of internal conflict or a word, he swung his broadsword downward in a blinding arc.

SWISH!

The condensed blade of energy shredded the severed head into fine crimson mist, erasing the corpse’s final smile forever.

STEP!

The heavy metallic boot crushed a fallen piece of rubble as Daniel took a step toward the cowering mother and son.

STEP!

He took another step, his shadow lengthening across the blood-soaked floor like an inescapable shroud of death.

Ken Dusker turned his head toward Axel once more, his eyes wide with a desperate, silent pleading for mercy. But as he met the demon’s gaze, he found no saviour, only a cruel, manic smile that promised eternal nightmare.

Realising no mercy would come from the monster, Ken forced his trembling legs to stand, positioning his frail body directly in front of his mother.

Daniel scoffed coldly from behind his helm, his voice muffled and distorted by the ancient metal. "Don’t worry, boy. I won’t do anything to your mother... not for now, at least."

Before Ken could process the words, Livia slipped from behind her son, her eyes burning with maternal fury. She gathered every ounce of her remaining mana and launched a desperate, high-tier spell toward the Patriarch.

Daniel did not even bother to dodge. With a casual flick of his wrist, he tossed a chain-shaper artefact into the air.

The metallic artefact expanded instantly, transforming into dozens of glowing, barbed iron snakes. They coiled violently around Livia’s body, instantly suppressing her remaining mana channels.

The sheer force of the artefact flung her backwards, slamming her hard against the cracked stone wall. Iron spikes bit into the masonry, locking her tightly in place.

She was rendered completely immobile from the neck down. Aside from screaming, the proud Duchess could do nothing to intervene.

Ken’s heart tightened into a vice, his chest heaving as he gnashed his teeth in sheer desperation. Gathering every shred of his physical strength, he lunged forward, striking toward Daniel with all his might.

Daniel barely reacted. The ancient rune armour covering his chest flared with faint silver light as he casually backhanded the boy away like an annoying fly.

Ken hit the ground hard, tumbling across the stone before scrambling back to his feet. Strangely, he felt no oppressive restriction weighing down on his body from Axel’s demonic bloodline.

Axel was deliberately holding back his oppressive aura, granting the boy total freedom to fight. Out of sheer, unadulterated desperation, Ken tapped into the darkest depths of his origin and activated his Demonic Transformation.

The ceiling of his might instantly multiplied, sending violent shockwaves through the immediate area. Dark, oily scales sprouted across his skin, and his teeth elongated into lethal fangs.

Because of his volatile emotional state, the transformation was fueled by an immense well of raw hatred and fear. The negative emotions swirling in his heart caused his demon bloodline to bubble in manic excitement, pushing his physical parameters beyond their normal limits.

So, when the Dusker Heir lunged at Daniel this time, wrapped in a hurricane of maddening demonic fury, the Nomrad Patriarch could no longer shrug the attack away.

Daniel gripped his sword with both hands and slashed horizontally through the air. A brilliant, crescent arc of pure light energy burst forth from the blade, cutting straight through the dark crimson aura.

The purifying nature of the light magic instantly dissolved the chaotic demonic energy upon impact. Furthermore, the ancient Runes etched into Daniel’s armour were designed to contend with high-level powerhouses like Allen Dusker himself.

No matter how monstrous Ken’s emotional transformation appeared, his raw output could never bridge the overwhelming gap between their core realms.

Before Ken could alter his trajectory, Daniel’s figure blurred, vanishing from the boy’s field of vision entirely. Ken’s sensory perception was far too slow to track the Patriarch’s movement.

BOOM!!

A devastating, armoured fist drove directly into Ken’s exposed midsection with the force of a falling meteor.

Ken’s eyes bulged as an unhealthy amount of dark, viscous demonic blood erupted from his mouth. His internal organs convulsed violently, and every drop of air was instantly blasted out of his lungs.

The impact shattered his ribcage, sending jagged bone fragments piercing directly into his lungs and stomach. All of this brutal carnage occurred while he was still fully locked in his empowered demonic form.

Yet, the physical impact was only the beginning of the agony. During the strike, Daniel had forced a concentrated surge of volatile Light elemental energy deep into the boy’s core.

Because Ken was currently in his demonic state, the light magic acted like concentrated acid within his circulatory pathways. The violent collision between sacred light energy and chaotic demonic blood wreaked absolute havoc on his internal organs.

Shockwaves of contrasting elemental forces ripped through his body, tearing blood vessels apart from the inside out. The pain was so unimaginable that Ken couldn’t even form a coherent scream.

In a frantic, instinctual bid to heal such catastrophic internal damage, the demonic bloodline inside Ken began draining its own reserves at a frantic pace. Every drop of dark energy was pulled away from his muscle fibres to repair his ruptured organs.

As a direct consequence of this massive energy drain, the demonic transformation rapidly receded. The dark scales dissolved, his fangs shrank, and his physical aura collapsed into nothingness.
