Final Villain's Broken System: Geniuses Make Me Stronger!
Chapter 13: RevengeThe first chain broke after approximately ten minutes.
As soon as that happened, Zephyr instinctively tugged at the remaining chains in excitement.
Alaric could feel that the dragon wanted to roar out loud but controlled himself.
Soon, another chain broke. Then one more, then more started breaking down.
Finally, when all chains broke down the dragon visibly shook before a pair of crystalline droplets fell to the ground.
Were those...tears?
Alaric raised his eyebrow but stayed silent.
The entire cave had become unbearably hot after more than ten minutes of burning fire gel, but Alaric could still withstand it due to having a physical foundation far surpassing that of ordinary people.
Zephyr was even more at ease than him.
Since Alaric had applied the fire gel on the opposite ends of where they bound Zephyr, the chains were still stuck to him, even though they weren’t restricting his mana flow or movement anymore since they were broken at the other end.
Alaric saw Zephyr’s black claws stretch out and take on a silvery radiance.
Body Technique - Sundering Claws
Zephyr swiped his claws over the chains, cutting them open after a few strikes, completely freeing himself up.
Alaric recognised that the dragon had just used mana, targeting his claws, but didn’t know if it was a spell model or a body technique.
Just like a magic power system had spell models, the physical power system had body techniques. Both used mana as a fuel.
One could only use them starting from Knight and Mage rank as Squires and Mage Apprentices didn’t have the capability to control mana.
Alaric knew that according to Tales of Golden Era, this kingdom had an incomplete knowledge of the physical power system compared to the magic power system which was relatively complete.
The majority of the practitioners of the body path had no idea that body techniques even existed.
This is why in this kingdom, Mages had higher combat strength than Knights at the same level.
But the irony was that the people of this kingdom had a higher affinity for body path rather than magic path, therefore the Knights had never gone out of existence even if they were much weaker than Mages at the same level.
However, all of that didn’t apply to the dragons who directly received knowledge through their bloodline as they grew.
After the dragon freed itself, it reveled in its freedom for a good few minutes, stretching and moving its body in all sorts of ways.
After it was done, it did a very human-like bow by tucking his paws by his side and bowing his head.
"I will remember this kindness for the rest of my life."
Alaric only nodded to show his acknowledgement.
After the dragon calmed down, he spoke. "Let me get used to my strength, and we’ll raid their facility."
Alaric nodded, his hands folded on his chest, each holding onto a knife.
After the last battle, he knew there could never be enough knives, so he increased the amount of knives he carried on him from eight to twenty two.
They were all sufficiently hidden within his coat and various places on his body, some more difficult to reach than the others but that was to be expected.
To pass time, he leaned against the cave, and began going through his various plans for the future.
Of course, he wasn’t about to lower his guard simply because of the blood oath, so he still had his hands on his throwing knives hidden inside his coat.
Alaric only noticed that an hour had already passed by when Zephyr called him out.
"It’s time."
Body Technique - Titan’s Might
The dragon’s entire body glowed briefly. Alaric again couldn’t recognise what the dragon had used but could feel the mobilization of mana.
Squires and Mage Apprentices couldn’t use mana but could still sense it.
Zephyr took a step back and gave a low roar which was a mixed bag of emotions, then charged forward.
Crash!
The impact sent a deep boom reverberating through the cavern, followed by the grinding rumble of collapsing boulders.
With his tail, Zephyr didn’t forget to clear out the rubble to make way for Alaric even as he charged ahead.
Beyond the boulders was a facility large enough to accommodate a medium size manor. It held numerous doors on its walls.
The cavern facility was fully lit, with people in robes who were working on their tasks just before the boulder broke down, revealing the dragon they had caged for decades.
Several people immediately recognised the danger and charged straight at the dragon.
Zephyr was about to take care of them when the sound of air whistling was heard.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Six knives. All straight at the necks of charging individuals with not a hint of deviation.
"Squires are mine to handle, remember?"
Zephyr let out an amused snort at Alaric’s voice then flew inwards. He hadn’t sensed any strong presence here.
The six people died so quickly that the rest couldn’t even react for a second.
One of them shouted.
"That fucking dog has been freed! It has reinforcements! Notify Sir John!"
Alaric inwardly laughed while taking out more knives.
They sure have guts to call a dragon a dog. But then again, they suppressed him for years and took blood from him while he couldn’t do anything.
Any sense of awe and fear must’ve long faded away for them.
A person was about to reach for a sword by his side when a knife pierced his neck.
Alaric prioritized killing those who weren’t ready before the second wave of people charged at him.
Flashes of silver flew across the cavern facility, accurately stabbing the necks of people.
Zephyr kept breaking through the numerous doors to search for two Knights and the Mage, but they were all turning out to be empty.
However, just then, three people entered, aggressively pushing open one particular door.
The two Knights immediately rushed forward while the elderly Mage began activating his spell model.
"Sir John is here! We are saved!"
Someone across the room shouted, likely referring to the old man.
At this moment, Alaric witnessed a sight which he had only read about in Tales of Golden Era.
The reason why no other practitioner of magic power system was qualified to be mentioned in the same breath as a dragon.
Spell Model — Flame Spear
Spell Model — Heat Amplification
Spell Model — Penetration
Spell Model — Wind Acceleration
Spell Model — Detonation
Five spell models overlapped almost instantaneously.
A single flame spear shot through the air, impaling one of the Knights, whose body went limp, dying immediately due to the sheer intensity of heat having burned his insides.
This...was the race which stood at the peak in talent when it came to the magic power system.
