"Another blood oath?" Zephyr gazed speechlessly at Alaric, who nodded with seriousness.

"I don’t trust you."

"Yea I don’t trust you either, weak human." The baby dragon snorted.

Alaric detected the childishness in the baby dragon’s tone, which made him shrug helplessly.

Suddenly, in the empty training hall before the eyes of Alaric, the baby dragon’s size shrunk down.

It kept getting smaller until it was almost the size of a house cat.

Its pointed nose had rounded off, while its scales became smaller and smoother, giving its once imposing body a much softer appearance.

Its wings had become proportionally smaller, barely large enough to wrap around its body, while a thin tail curled lazily behind it.

The most noticeable change, however, was its face.

Its once fierce golden eyes had become large and round, making it look far more curious than threatening.

"Damn it! I ran out of energy!" The tiny dragon stomped in frustration, its voice quite baby-like now.

Alaric could only stare wide-eyed at what just took place.

Seeing that the human was still looking at it, the baby dragon explained with a sigh.

"Some beast races gradually gain mastery over their size as they grow. Dragons are one of them.

"Since my captors wanted more blood, I was always forced to remain at my maximum size."

Alaric narrowed his eyes while a smirk played on his lips. "Then why didn’t you get smaller once you were freed? Isn’t it your belief that hiding leads to freedom?

"You can hide better if you are smaller."

The baby dragon did its best to maintain a look of indifference as it replied. "I rely on invisibility to hide. Not size."

Alaric’s smirk threatened to burst into a laugh as the edges of his lips quivered. "Are you sure it isn’t because you hate looking small and cute?"

"Absolutely not!" Zephyr yelled, his face scrunched up into a frown.

"You sure? I thought you wanted to look like a big boiiii~"

Alaric deliberately spoke the last few words like a tune, teasing the baby dragon.

"YOU DARE?!"

The tiny dragon lunged at Alaric, tackling the young lord to the ground. One must not forget that the dragon was a Knight, while Alaric was still a Squire.

Even though the dragon’s strength would decrease with its size, it would still remain within the range of a Knight. Alaric, no matter how strong he had become, was still a Squire.

After punching Alaric a few times, the tiny dragon jumped off the young lord.

Once they finished their banter, the dragon and Alaric took a blood oath before the dragon flew off for the task Alaric gave him.

Alaric’s heart beat in nervousness as he waited for what was about to come.

It was the first time in either of his lives that he was about to do something on this scale. No matter what, he was still a young man affected by emotions.

He placed a hand on his chest, calming himself before he reached the chamber where House Orlen’s information department worked.

Like it had been mentioned previously, House Orlen was only temporarily politically isolated.

Once their attempt at elevating to a duchy was thwarted, they would still be a marquisate, which was absolutely not a low rank.

Therefore no one wanted to go out of their way to sabotage the merchants of House Orlen or put effort into rooting out their information network.

Not to mention how long it would take and how much it would cost, they would also end up offending House Orlen for no reason.

"Young Lord, according to your instructions, our agents are continuously spreading rumors over the Flenn Kingdom. By tomorrow, even the capital should know about this."

Alaric smiled upon hearing that.

"I hope no one knows we are behind this?"

His subordinates looked at each other nervously and gave out dry laughs.

"Young Lord, we can assure you that no one outside this room and secret agents deployed on the field know that we are behind the spread of the rumors. Not even Steward Edwin is aware."

Alaric gave them a bright smile. "Good. Make sure you keep doing the good work, you’ll be rewarded handsomely."

He then left, leaving behind the nervous subordinates. Alaric knew that the people under him currently had no loyalty whatsoever to him, so he could only make sure of their secrecy through the Divine Contract Scrolls.

This time he didn’t bind them to himself but to each other, ensuring that anyone who wanted to expose what was going on would also implicate and harm everyone else in the information department.

Therefore, technically, everyone was keeping an eye on each other.

Next, he entered his personal training hall and assembled a grand mechanism from scratch.

It wasn’t anything difficult since he had already instructed the servants to cut the wood in specific measurements the previous day.

But since he couldn’t let many people know about this, the assembly of those parts could only be done by himself.

It had a lot of useless parts as a decoy, while the main section was two tubes in front of a cushioned chair.

There was a board before the cushioned chair, with the two tubes going through two accurately cut holes before connecting to the Mana Compression Pearl.

This prevented the person sitting on the chair from seeing the Mana Compression Pearl directly. The board was also protected by House Orlen’s anti-spying magic items, preventing anyone from using a spell model to see through it.

As a noble house, House Orlen had plenty of anti-spying magic items and this entire mechanism was made through that.

To use the treasure, the person sitting on the chair would have to send their mana through one tube into the Mana Compression Pearl. The compressed mana would then return through the other tube.

After completing the mechanism, Alaric left the training hall.

As he walked through the mansion, one of the servants walked up to him, bowed and informed him that someone was waiting for him at the entrance.

Good thing I finished that fake mechanism, the magic items should be here along with the mage from Arcanum Magic Tower.

He walked over to the entrance and indeed, a middle aged man draped in a long blue cloak stood beside a carriage with large storage compartments linked to it.

The middle aged man waved his hand across the long line of storage compartments. "These are the magic items as per the contract you signed with Lord Kyle."

"Mr. Grok?" Alaric confirmed.

The middle aged man nodded. "Yes, Young Lord. Pleasure to meet you. I’ll be in your service for the following months."

"Young Lord brought a mage under House Orlen service?!"

A nearby guard involuntarily let out a gasp, which was heard by the others.

Their Young Lord had managed to contract a mage to work for House Orlen!

It was big news.

Seeing that Alaric hadn’t reacted, the guard immediately began whispering about it to the others, and before long, the news had spread throughout the mansion.
