Saracha pressed the chest that had just been shot through by Yina, and said in a deep voice, "Undoubtedly, this body is already ’dead.’ Isn’t it normal not to feel pain?"
"Although your bodies have indeed ’died,’ but..."
Yi Dong shook his head, then glanced at the four people in front of him and said lightly, "You all have nothing to do with corpses now, listen up, guys. You are ’Undying,’ not ’Dead.’
"So... we won’t die at all?"
Crab rarely pondered seriously for a moment and then said something irrelevant.
Everyone, including Yi Dong, who was always polite to everyone, ignored him.
Ned furrowed his brow, not fully understanding the meaning behind Yi Dong’s words, so he took the initiative to ask, "Can you explain, Master Rin Winter?"
"Corpses will decay."
Yi Dong calmly said something (Yina shuddered violently at the same time, looking aghast) and then said leisurely, "But you won’t."
Another minute of silence passed...
"Uh, that’s it?"
Ned couldn’t help himself after waiting for more.
"Isn’t that enough to make the point?"
Yi Dong sighed, rested his cheek on his hand, and said, "Corpses decay, but you don’t; corpses are fragile, but you are sturdy; corpses can’t cuddle close together, but you can. In summary, you are not corpses. Proof complete."
The four stood there stunned.
Although what ’Master Rin Winter’ said sounded reasonable and seemed logical, they still felt that the proving process was... overly hasty, almost like a joke.
"Well, let’s put it this way."
Seeing that these few were not understanding, Yi Dong stretched lazily, then slowly stood up, walked over to Saracha, and patted his shoulder: "Do you feel that you’re able to move because your soul is controlling your body?"
The aloof Lizardman, entirely clueless about Mysticism, froze slightly and then hesitantly nodded.
Though he didn’t quite understand how exactly, he felt it should be more or less that way.
"How do you control it? How strong is your ’soul’?"
Yi Dong chuckled and continued to ask without waiting for Saracha’s response: "Let’s not talk about that for now. What are you using to look at me right now, your soul?"
Saracha blinked instinctively, then Yi Dong raised his hand to cover Saracha’s eyes.
"Can you still see me now?"
Yi Dong’s voice sounded amidst the not-so-solid darkness.
Saracha felt this man was wholly speaking nonsense. After all, would any normal person still be able to after their eyes were covered...
[?!]
Suddenly realizing something, Saracha quickly raised his arm and gently pushed away the hand Yi Dong was holding over his eyes.
As expected, he could see again.
"Haha."
Yi Dong smiled with satisfaction and said with amusement, "Very good, dear fellow, it looks like you’ve successfully found where the problem lies."
Saracha nodded uncertainly, instinctively raising his hand to touch his eyes: "I’m using my eyes to see."
"Nonsense, can you use your hands to see... wait!?"
Yina, who was half-way through her rant, suddenly reacted and exclaimed softly, "Wait! Why are our eyes functioning?!"
Clearly, not only Saracha, but Yina also quickly realized the blind spot.
Like most people unfamiliar with Undead Studies, even though they had been awakened as ’Undying’ by Yi Dong, Ned and the others still held the narrow-minded view of ’Undead=Corpse,’ having a significant limitation in understanding themselves.
"A real corpse has no way to see things with its eyes, nor can it move freely like you."
Yi Dong shrugged, his face full of mystery: "Don’t equate yourselves with those shells awakened by low-level Spirit Summoning Technique, heroes."
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were left stunned, none speaking a word.
After a moment of silence, Captain Ned broke it, smiling broadly while clutching his pale yet otherwise ordinary right hand, speaking softly, "Looks like we might still be of some use."
"Of course."
Yi Dong also smiled, raised his brow: "That person said as long as it doesn’t violate your principles, they’ll make good ’use’ of you."
Yina rolled her eyes and snorted lightly, "Quite the unappealing way to say it."
"I don’t like owing favors."
Saracha cracked his knuckles, then glanced at Ned with a half-smile: "But I don’t mind others owing me."
Ned awkwardly laughed a couple of times, wisely choosing not to engage with the comment.
Even though their strengths were evenly matched in life, Ned was slightly stronger, but Saracha had restored his strength quickest during this time. The reason is simple: the degree of body control as a Martial Monk far exceeds that of a warrior.
Thus, after being overzealous initially and getting a collective beatdown from everyone, Ned thought it over and ultimately thick-skinnedly pretended he hadn’t heard anything.
"Work hard to adapt to your new selves, everyone."
Yi Dong took a deep breath; his tone slightly serious: "Someone has high hopes for you, though that’s not necessarily a good thing, but..."
He looked at the four in front of him, their eyes filled with stable, dancing pale flames, a slight smile tugging at his lips—
"It’s likely to be quite exciting."

[Welcome back, Hei Fan of Absolute Neutrality, entering the Realm of Innocence, good night]

Central District of Academy City, 11 Mirehaus Avenue, [Cyan Hotel], Room 205 with king-size bed
Although quite troubled by the unknown person impersonating him, Motan was in a rather good mood at this moment. The reason is simple: he’s finally found leisure today, with none of his characters being particularly busy.
On ’Tan Mo’s side, Double Leaf must accompany Diana out for a social engagement today, so as agreed, Frank Hughes, who’s prohibited from sneaking to the Forbidden Book Area alone, ends up having nothing to do, and he naturally wouldn’t rush to find Cole and Liz, so... very idle.
On ’Mor’s side, the newly acquired [Dawn] has yet to be studied thoroughly, Ya Ya has been spending every day out with Jadka eating and drinking, and Ji Xiaoge has been busy with several large orders along with the two masters from Craftsman Town after their dinner gathering two days ago, living quite fulfilling days. Although Liya Delin tried to ask the recently recovered Motans to go out for a walk, Motans, wise and well-aware, all politely declined using illness as an excuse, so... also idle.
’Hei Fan’ needs no mention. Being merely an intern in the Holy Church Union’s delegation, after busying himself with (slacking off) judging panel work, is now completely free, so... even idler.
In summary, after quickly reviewing the status of his various characters, Motans was almost moved to tears realizing he had managed to receive a day’s vacation.
Because of this, he rarely treated himself to a nice meal tonight, the result of which was going overboard (referring to the cooking process) and losing track of time, hence failing to log in at the usual time.
But who cares?
Motans opened his eyes, lazily stretching on the soft bed, totally unflustered.
[Anyway, I’m free all day today; missing a few minutes means nothing except losing the chance to see Yu Chen first off. No~~ loss~~ at~~ all~~♪]
Trying hard to put the unpleasant stuff behind, looking forward to enjoying today’s ’holiday,’ Motans lazily sat up and immediately saw the face that captivated him... hmm, at least one-third of the time.
"You’re awake?"
The girl leaning by the window beamed sweetly.
"Got some free time today~"
Motans returned a silly smile.
"Oh, that’s perfect. Captain Foster has something for you, shall we go downstairs?"
"Eh?"
"He wants to invite you to some competition!"
"Ha?"
"Fyari almost agreed for you."
"Huh?"
"But I stopped her!"
"Phew."
"Then Tom stepped in and accepted for you."
"Meow meow meow?"
