Kieran's answer came first as pressure around a name.

Ty felt the room prepare to shorten her.

That was how the public feed worked when it smelled a usable story. It took people with bodies, debts, mistakes, and years of history, then squeezed them into a phrase small enough to throw. Ty had watched it happen to him. Bone Half. Hidden king. Monster. Proof.

Now the feed wanted Kieran.

Hunter destroys worlds.

Omina covered the line with her palm before the drawer could give it shape.

"That line stays claim until a record proves it."

JJ looked at the archive marks.

"What is Alexira before the crowd writes it for us?"

Mara answered before Heissman found his official face.

"A planet that became easier to summarize than grieve."

Rose turned toward her.

"You have heard this version before, haven't you?"

Mara kept her eyes on the drawer.

"Enough to know the short version is carrying a lie."

She spoke like someone who had heard that lie over meals, in hallways, under polite voices that made correction more expensive than silence. Rose's face changed with recognition. Some people chose which fight to survive long before anyone praised them for restraint.

Zunoder turned toward Mara.

"The short version often preserves what witnesses dress up."

Mara's answer stayed flat.

"The short version is how mobs carry lies without dropping them."

The drawer accepted the dispute. The public summary could distort an old record.

Zunoder hated the word could only when it helped someone else.

Omina pointed at the archive chain.

"Open enough record to correct the lie before it travels."

The drawer warned that correction before full record could bias the hearing.

Waddell leaned into the shelter feed.

"Then open enough truth to stop the lie from eating first."

The archive gave them the smallest useful slice.

Alexira had been a planet. Kieran's mission ended before the reset event. The Angelic Race X virus activated after mission end.

The public feed lurched.

Caelin killed the repeating captions before the virus label became another chant. Omina limited the term before the archive turned into a toy for strangers.

The cost appeared beside Caelin's office.

Public coverup claims increased.

JJ looked at that and shook her head.

"They can claim into a pillow until evidence arrives."

Caelin kept his mouth flat.

"They will claim into search channels with donation jars."

The archive moved again.

Kieran had been present. Kieran had been a mission actor. Kieran had used the system that made the mission possible. The release actor remained unconfirmed.

Zunoder stepped forward.

"Unconfirmed never earned the same weight as innocent."

The record answered through text.

I was there.

The room took that harder than a denial. Ty looked at the line and felt the distance between names vanish. Old guilt crossed bodies and years without asking whether the current person was strong enough to carry it.

The drawer marked Kieran as present.

Then the second line entered.

The virus was never mine to release, and the archive knows that.

The denial came in at limited weight.

Zunoder barely waited.

"Self-protection can still hide the useful part of guilt."

Kieran's record answered without clean witness polish.

I used the system that made the mission possible.

Ty's throat tightened.

There it was. Something worse to carry because it resisted false innocence and easy blame. Omina wrote the distinction before Zunoder could flatten it.

Kieran accepted system proximity.

Kieran denied releasing the virus.

Zunoder adjusted his cuff like the record had handed him a cleaner knife.

"System proximity can establish complicity when harm follows."

Yun-Jin answered from the side of the table.

"Complicity is a question, not a substitute for the act."

The drawer left complicity undetermined and direct release unproven.

Mara's shoulders dropped one inch.

Ty saw it. He wondered how many people in this story had lived under bad summaries because the truth was less useful to a crowd.

The archive offered a visual record.

No planet image came with it. No burning city. No bodies counted out for public appetite. Only a mission line and a reset event separated by a hard break.

The file had shown enough spectacle tonight for Ty to understand when it withheld one on purpose. Procedure could hide horror better than smoke. Procedure gave people forms to read while the world ended off-page.

The mission ended with Kieran's exit mark.

Then the reset sequence began.

The cleansing label sat on the page like someone had washed the blood out of the word before filing it.

Zunoder read it aloud anyway.

"Cleansing means destruction with better manners for witnesses."

Omina let the cruelty stand and contested the owner.

"Name the activation hand before assigning the bodies."

The activation chain stayed sealed.

The signer chain opened only partway.

Kieran's direct command appeared nowhere in the partial record.

The public summary tried to return with the old line.

Caelin suppressed it twice. The third time, the drawer let it through as contamination evidence. Simplified blame had attached itself to Kieran's record and was now trying to do legal work.

Zunoder used the opening.

"Public memory remembers harm even when records stay incomplete."

Rose answered from beside Mara.

"Public memory also likes a face it can hit."

The drawer entered the challenge before the crowd could borrow Rose's grief and turn it into another chant.

JJ rubbed at the bridge of her nose.

"Rarely has one sentence worked so hard to say people are messy."

The Kieran record shifted again.

I benefited from the mission.

Ty shut his eyes for one breath.

He wanted the denial clean. Kieran refused to give him that. Clean lies were how the file fed itself.

I chose no reset for that world, whatever debt came after.

The drawer put the two truths beside each other. Kieran accepted benefit. Kieran denied choosing the reset.

Zunoder turned the first line in his hands.

"Benefit can bind a person to the harm."

Omina answered before the drawer could price the phrase.

"Benefit creates debt; release still needs its own proof."

The distinction held.

Ty understood why Alexira had entered now. The room had been trying to make him accept a title because refusal looked like hiding. The old record tried the same move with guilt. If Kieran accepted no guilt, the crowd would call her a liar. If she accepted all guilt, the file would make her the release actor.

The honest path was narrower and worse.

Ty understood too much of it.

The room wanted clean columns. Victim. Actor. Owner. Title. Clean columns made people easier to move. Kieran's record dirtied every column it touched.

Present, but not release actor.

Benefited, but without choosing reset.

Connected, but without command.

The truth had handles in it, and none of them held the whole body.

JJ looked at the archive like she wanted to take a nail file to the page.

"This is the part mobs hate because it makes them read."

Mara answered from the shelter side.

"They never wanted to read Alexira in the first place."

Rose stood beside her, still outside the tape.

"They wanted one body heavy enough to carry all of it."

That sentence entered before the public could dress it in sympathy. Ty was grateful for that. Sympathy was another way people made themselves the center of a wound.

Omina looked back to the archive.

"Tell us why Alexira matters to the route using his name."

The answer came through without spectacle.

World reset precedent had been used in identity erasure law.

Heissman looked sick.

"That route belongs nowhere near any medical authority."

Zunoder answered with professional calm.

"It belongs to administrative authority after civic collapse."

Yun-Jin leaned forward.

"Administrative authority is where erasure learns better manners."

The erasure risk stayed attached to the law instead of drifting into theory.

On the public feed, the titles began stacking into one label: hidden king, world hunter, Bone Half.

Caelin's aide stared at her screen.

"They are combining titles before the record finishes."

Ty opened his eyes. Stacked names traveled faster than evidence because they made a person easier to hate.

The drawer marked title combination as contamination.

Under the archive chain, one sealed line opened.

The Angelic signer might still be active.

Mara made a sound under her breath and turned it into a cough before the drawer could spend it. Rose moved one step closer to her side of the tape.

The active signer changed the room more than the old planet had. Old harm could be argued into distance. An active hand meant someone might still be able to use the same paper, the same language, the same clean administrative voice.

Ty felt the route turn that possibility toward him.

If a signer survived one reset, the file could ask whether a person survived another. If authority outlived that world, the file could ask whether authority survived a body.

Omina saw the same turn and wrote faster.

"An active signer proves no current ownership over him."

The tape held their bodies apart.

The look crossed it.
