From Wizard Apprentice to Conqueror of Myriad Worlds
Chapter 191 - 110: Became Famous, Part 2Chapter 191: Chapter 110: Became Famous, Part 2
Nasha answered readily, "Yes."
She had long understood that after this assessment, Mo Ning was bound to become famous. The Rose Council could no longer keep him hidden.
She had been mentally prepared for this for a while.
A genius will sooner or later make their mark, and no one can stop that.
Mansha nodded and didn’t press the issue.
But Nasha glanced at her colleague, who exuded the air of a flirtatious vixen, and immediately guessed the woman would turn the research paper database upside down looking for his work.
Within the Light Curtain.
Mo Ning’s Ink Tube Pen came to a stop. He turned to the two young women and said with a smile:
"I should be able to finish this research paper on the Triangular Wing in about three days.
"You both helped out a lot, so I’ll add you to the assistant list. You’ll get a reward for it, too."
The young women’s faces instantly broke into smiles.
Watching this, the two other Female Apprentices couldn’t help but feel a flash of envy.
At the academy, papers—whether for research projects or journals—could be completed "collaboratively."
Authors were typically divided into three tiers: the "lead author," who contributed the most; the "co-author," who undertook part of the research; and the "assistant," who contributed the least.
They had watched the entire process of the Triangular Wing’s creation, so they knew exactly how much work Anya and Reina had put in.
Strictly speaking, the two young women had mostly done odd jobs. Calling them assistants was a bit of a stretch.
And yet, with almost no effort, they had managed to get their names on an important paper praised for being both "innovative" and "practical."
Even as just an assistant, it was a hefty addition to their credentials.
What made others green with envy was how easily they had obtained it.
For the vast majority of Apprentices, this was something they couldn’t even dream of.
Mansha clicked her tongue twice. "Tsk, tsk," she said, half-joking and half-serious. "I’m starting to wish I could be that kid’s assistant."
Nasha shot her a look, finally unleashing the venom she’d been holding back:
"Compared to those two little girls, all that fair flesh of yours might look tempting, but it’s too old and tough."
Mansha retorted, flushing with anger and embarrassment, "I’m several years younger than you!"
Nasha, completely unfazed by the age issue, continued her taunts. "Those melons are too big. They’re practically sagging to the floor. That boy doesn’t like them so large."
A flash of fury crossed Mansha’s seductive eyes. "At least they’re much better than your pathetic little cherries."
Nasha decisively ended their pointless war over body types and changed the subject.
"Our Deep Red Rose Witchcraft Laboratory has already issued that boy an Assistant Researcher badge. Don’t even think about poaching him."
She knew she couldn’t hide it for long, so she decided to just lay her cards on the table.
Mansha was stunned. "Assistant Researcher?"
She immediately realized the implication. "But he’s just a newcomer! That’s against the rules!"
Newcomers weren’t allowed to join any of the laboratories. It was a rule written in black and white, meant to protect the naive and ignorant new Apprentices.
Nasha’s face was full of contempt. "Do you even know what a genius is? The academy has exemption clauses for true geniuses, allowing them to grow faster."
Mansha froze for a moment, instinctively glancing back at the Light Curtain.
Considering the dazzling talent the boy had displayed, it seemed entirely possible he could qualify for an exemption clause.
She shot the utterly detestable woman a glare, then decisively stood up to leave.
She knew she could never win a war of words with her.
The rest of the assessment was meaningless now. It was time to go.
Mansha ran a hand over her supple waist, pinched out a bit of Instant Shadow Powder, and left a final remark with a smirk:
"The relationship between the three great Councils and the Apprentices isn’t absolute. If that boy is willing, he can leave the Rose Council and join the Dawn Council."
As soon as she finished speaking, the Instant Shadow Powder ignited with a WHOOSH. Pale flames instantly consumed her slender figure, leaving only ashes.
Nasha remained seated, her pretty face clouding over.
She knew that vixen was right.
Although there was an unwritten understanding among the three great Councils to never accept anyone who had quit another Council.
’But for a true genius, who could guarantee the Dawn Council wouldn’t make an exception?’
Nasha sighed, a headache coming on. She murmured, "I need to report this to my mentor."
She knew very well that Mo Ning was the apple of her mentor’s eye. Now that someone from the Dawn Council was apparently taking an interest in him, her mentor had to be informed.

For the next day, nothing particularly noteworthy happened in Mist Valley.
Except, that is, for the flood that broke out late at night in the area where the camp was located.
A long downpour caused rainwater from the surrounding mountains to gather into a violent flash flood, and since the forest was situated in a low-lying area, it naturally became a spillway.
Fortunately, the camp built by the Battle Group was sturdy enough that it just barely withstood the force of the flood, and there were no casualties.
However, the entire camp was submerged in waist-deep water, and the more than two hundred newcomers suffered immensely.
Unable to find a single dry corner or a place to lie down, everyone could only squat on high ground like frightened monkeys, enduring the long, miserable night.
Even someone as mindful of her appearance as Princess Phoebe was spattered with specks of mud, her hair disheveled and her posture unkempt. She looked quite wretched.
What made everyone’s skin crawl, however, was the sudden appearance of large, hairy water spiders. Each one was the size of a grown man’s palm, and they swarmed through the camp, scuttling everywhere.
