"Impossible!"

Mirabella gasped, her voice cracking, as she staggered back. She stared down at the Death Empress’s Scythe in her trembling hands. The ancient metal was physically vibrating—not with bloodlust, but with a primal, shuddering terror. Through her profound spiritual connection with the weapon, she could feel its absolute panic.

’Even a Supreme Class artifact is utterly terrified of him.’ She thought, her gaze slowly rising to lock onto the serene, white-robed figure of the Senior.

"Using borrowed strength won’t get you anywhere." The Senior said softly, his voice carrying the calm, absolute authority of an ancient deity who had witnessed the birth and death of countless galaxies.

Mirabella exhaled a slow, deep breath, forcing the chaotic adrenaline to settle in her veins.

"Alright then!"

With a sharp flick of her wrist, she banished the trembling scythe back into her storage, choosing instead to grip the hilt of Sunder with both hands. Her jaw set in an expression of sheer defiance. "I told you, I won’t lose today."

BOOOOM!!

A magnificent, blinding wave of pure golden energy violently burst out from her core, completely overriding the dark, decaying remnants of the necrotic curse. The shockwave forced the surrounding starlight to warp and bend. Before the Senior’s eyes, Mirabella’s flowing blue hair instantly turned into a brilliant, radiant gold, shimmering like liquid sunshine. Her blue eyes followed next, burning away into a pair of majestic, piercing golden irises that fixed onto him with absolute focus.

"The Sun Goddess’s transformation?" The Senior’s calm facade cracked once more, his white eyes widening in genuine astonishment. "Even your mother, Genevieve, at the absolute height of her legendary power, could not invoke this transformation. Do you also possess the Sun Goddess’s eyes? Absolute Sun Judgment..."

Mirabella’s mind raced as she stabilized the raging torrent of golden divine energy within her. ’Sun Goddess’s transformation? Is my grandmother actually the Sun Goddess?’

"Yeah, your grandmother is indeed the Sun Goddess." The Senior spoke aloud, easily reading her thoughts:

"That is precisely where your Sun family gets its name from... Although she originally married into a mortal family, her very presence and divine powers elevated not only your grandfather but every single blood relative. Of course, the main house gained the most significant benefits from this genetic ascension... But forget all that ancestral history for now." He shook his head, dismissing the past.

"Is there anything in this vast universe you don’t know?" Mirabella asked in surprise, her golden eyes narrowing as she maintained her battle stance.

"Hahaha! Young Lady!" The Senior burst into a brief, echoing laugh that rippled through the constellations. "I am one of the Three Great Protectors of Heaven. I know everything about Heaven, Earth, and the spaces in between."

"Then answer this!" Mirabella demanded, seizing the opportunity to unearth another truth. "If you are truly an all-powerful protector of these ancient stones, how come you guys are all dead? The black skeleton sitting in that dark cave... isn’t that your physical remains?"

"My remains? You completely misunderstood..." The Senior smiled faintly, shaking his head:

"I am an immortal entity who fundamentally cannot be killed by any conventional means. What you saw in that subterranean cave is not my actual body, but merely a temporary, throwaway Vessel I used to anchor my consciousness, nothing more. Besides, my true, unmitigated form cannot step foot in such weak, lower-dimensional worlds. If I were to descend in my true body, even the highly stable Fourth World would instantly collapse under my spiritual weight."

"...?!!"

"Even the Fourth World would collapse?!" Mirabella yelled at him, her golden aura flickering with frustration:

"What level of strength are you truly on?! Why are you bullying a junior like me in a trial like this!"

"Bullying? I voluntarily reduced my current active strength to match yours, and I have repeatedly warned you of the dangers. I don’t call that bullying, little one." He reasoned smoothly.

’It seems using emotional attacks simply won’t work against him.’ Mirabella thought, her golden eyes scanning his flawless posture.

"Okay, Senior... Please enlighten me." She said, her voice dropping to a calm, icy whisper.

WHOOSH!

She shot forward like a golden streak of lightning, golden light spreading all over her body as she rapidly closed the now 100-meter distance between them in a fraction of a microsecond.

’This kid... Even the original Sun Goddess at her absolute peak wouldn’t be able to scratch my clothes with raw physical strikes... Perhaps I am indeed bullying her a little.’ The Senior thought, watching her approach with a trace of amusement.

The moment Mirabella appeared directly before his face, swinging Sunder in a devastating horizontal slash meant to cleave his defenses, the Senior didn’t even bother to dodge. He simply flicked a single, unadorned finger.

CLANG!!

The simple flick collided with the edge of her blade, unleashing a concussive shockwave that instantly numbed Mirabella’s arms, forcefully knocking Sunder clean out of her grip and sending it spinning into the distant void.

"This?!"

Before her brain could even process the loss of her weapon, a casual, open-handed slap from the Senior smashed right into her chest.

BOOOOM!!

The impact was absolute. Mirabella was sent flying backward through the starry sky like a broken doll, her golden energy scattering in all directions.

PFFFFT!

She violently vomited a mouthful of bright crimson blood, hitting the invisible ground of the space hard and sliding several meters before coming to a painful halt.

"This...?" She muttered, her body aching with fatigue. "Even with my supreme strength... I can’t even withstand a single, casual finger?! God dammit! We are both supposedly in the exact same stage!!"

Wiping the trail of blood off her lips with her forearm, she forced her trembling legs to lock, slowly standing back up. The golden light of her Sun Goddess transformation flared defensively around her.

"I don’t believe I can’t even touch you once." She whispered, her pride completely refusing to accept defeat.

"You are an incredibly stubborn child." the Senior observed, his expression turning solemn.

The Senior slowly ascended higher into the empty air, his white robes billowing. The next moment, the sky behind him tore open as thousands of dark, violent vortexes appeared, spinning rapidly and radiating a terrifying, pressurized heat.

"I will have to show you the ultimate difference between raw developmental stages and eons of combat experience."

BOOOOM!!!

Without another word, thousands of blinding beams of pure, concentrated divine light shot out from the vortexes, converging on Mirabella’s position with deadly, inescapable speed.

"Godly Evasion!!"

BOOOOM!!

The beams of light tore through the coordinates, but they harmlessly passed directly through Mirabella’s glowing, translucent body, striking the invisible ground below and creating massive, silent explosions of light.

"Oh? You actually possess such a high-level evasion skill?" The Senior mused, instantly halting his barrage. He watched her phase back into physical reality. "Impressive. But that invincible skill only lasts for a maximum of five minutes."

"That is more than enough time," Mirabella rasped, her eyes flashing with a dangerous brilliance. "Echo of Frailty... Sun Chessboard!!"

BOOOOM!!!

The starry sky was instantly overwritten as a gigantic, glowing golden chessboard materialized beneath their feet, stretching across the infinite horizon and locking both of them onto its rigid grid lines.

"You also have the Sun Chessboard?" The Senior murmured, moving his gaze across the massive, glowing golden chess pieces that stood tall and silent on the borders of the grid, his interest thoroughly intrigued.

BAM!

Suddenly, an invisible, crushing gravitational force slammed heavily into the Senior’s body, physically forcing him to take a sudden step backward.

"What is this? A curse?" He asked himself, his eyes widening slightly as he looked down at his hands. He could feel his active parameters, his speed, his defense, and his energy being aggressively suppressed, instantly reducing his current stats by a staggering 90%.

’What powerful, overlapping abilities... This girl... Is she truly destined to become the next Sun Goddess?’ The Senior thought, staring at his hands in absolute awe:

’All of these inherited Sun skills prove her bloodline destiny... but the dangers ahead of her path are even more terrifying than she can comprehend.’

"Chess Art... Infinite Strike!!" Mirabella roared, her golden hair whipping wildly around her face.

BOOOOM!!

The Senior turned his head, his white eyes scanning the grid as every single massive golden chess piece on the board simultaneously rose into the air, perfectly surrounding him in an inescapable sphere of divine authority.

Standing directly in front of him were the towering figures of the Queen and the King, their weapons drawn and radiating a killing intent that mirrored Mirabella’s own. Directly behind him, the heavily armored Knights stood poised to strike, blocking any path of retreat. On his absolute right and left, the Bishops hovered silently with glowing magical staves, while directly below him stood the massive, immovable castles of the Rooks, locking his spatial coordinates.

’The ultimate move of the Chess Art... she can already fully manifest this?’ He thought, utterly surprised by her mastery. ’Using standard Chess Art movement attacks on me would be useless, so she bypassed the entire game and moved directly to the ultimate execution move. What a vicious, brilliant girl.’

Mirabella’s lips curved into a triumphant, cold smirk. She stretched her golden hand directly toward him, her fingers splaying wide before slowly clenching into a tight, absolute fist.
