Three days later, John was sitting on his sofa watching the Genesis News channel while reading through the forums on his access band as he tried to cram in eleven years of Genesis knowledge he had missed at school into his brain.
He had now been training in the Weapons Hall for just over six days, only taking, on average, four hours' worth of breaks a day to get food, have hygiene breaks and relax a little before he carried on. {Honestly, it’s a good thing you can access Genesis in your sleep; otherwise, god knows how long it would take for me to finish.}
He had just completed his tenth weapon training, so he had decided to take a break before starting the final one, as he was not sure what would happen when he completed them all and he wanted to be rested just in case.
While he was browsing through the forums, the presenter on Genesis News said something that caught his attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, Genesis News has just been sent footage from the human capital of Eclipse City showing the execution of those responsible for the racial punishment where the human race lost control of Stone-mist Castle."
The execution took place on the punishment platform below the cliff that Eclipse Palace stands on and was witnessed by a huge crowd. During the execution, the main instigator tried to plead for his life, as we will now show you. Parental description is advised as the following scenes might be too much for children and some adults to bear."
The screen changed to show two people in bartered clothing chained together with their backs against a cliff wall and while John recognised the woman as his old homeroom teacher, he only had vague memories of the man next to her.
A large man in uniform and a priest stood before them as the uniformed man started to speak to the crowd. "The pair gathered before you are charged with crimes against the human race. For it was their actions of conspiring against one young schoolboy that led to our race losing Stone-mist Castle."
The crowd cheered and cursed the prisoners.
"WHAT CRIMES AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE? HOW CAN STEALING A FEW CREDITS BE CLASSIFIED AS CRIMES AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE?”
Frank Hargreaves suddenly screamed; he appeared to have gone mad from the treatment he had received these last few days. It seemed the life of luxury he had been living on John’s financial support had spoilt him.
The army officer stared coldly at Frank Hargreaves before saying, "You still don't understand the crimes you have committed; your actions against this one boy have damaged the human race in ways no enemy has done since the Genesis Agreement. It is not wrong to say you are the worst humanity has to offer."
After finishing, the officer addressed the two troops lined up with magic rifles.
"EXECUTION SQUAD AT THE READY"
"AIM"
"May the gods have mercy on your souls." The priest suddenly said before
"FIRE"
There was only the sound of seven guns hissing as a beam of light left the barrels of each of the magic rifles.
"AHHHH"
Mary Browns body hit the floor dead; however, Frank Hargreaves screamed in pain as a hole appeared in his right arm.
"JENKINS, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" yelled the officer in charge.
"I don't know, sir. I aimed the gun correctly, sir. But for some reason the shot veered off to the side; let me try again, sir."
"Fine, aim and.... Fire."
Again, a hiss, again the beam of light, again...
"AHHHH!" Frank screamed as this time the shot went through his other arm.
"Strange, this time it went in the other direction, hmmm," Jenkins mumbled before taking aim again and pulling the trigger for a third time.
"AHHHH!" Frank screamed again as a hole in his leg was torn open, causing him to collapse.
Jenkins, meanwhile, looked at his gun with a thoughtful expression before saying, “Ah, I think I got it now, sir."
"AHHHH!" Frank screamed as a hole appeared in his other leg, and he writhed on the ground in pain.
"I think I understand the issue now, sir; the focusing crystal must be loose, and that is what’s causing the shots to veer off in random directions," Jenkins reported before asking. "Permission to change to a different rifle."
"Granted, just get on with it." The soldier in charge ordered in an angry tone; however, for any keen observers, they would notice that all the soldiers present had a small grin at the corner of their lips.
Jenkins swapped rifles with the other soldier before saying, “Ready, sir."
"Good, now aim and..... fire"
A hiss, a beam of light, and a hole in Frank Hargreaves' head before his body stopped writhing from the pain altogether.
"Holo off," John said before he lay down and closed his eyes while saying, "Let's finish this, Genesis Sync"

John looked at his stats in surprise; he had not really checked them in several days since he had been so focused on learning all the basic weapon mastery.]
“{So overall I gained thirteen levels, so that’s thirteen points in each stat. "Hmm, my physical and magical attack power is strange; why is it laid out like that?" John wondered out loud before he focused on the two stats.
[23 STR + 1 ATP (Basic Wooden Crossbow) + 25% (Basic All Weapon Mastery) = 29 ATP]
[21 INT + 25% (Basic All Weapon Mastery) = 26 ATP]
"Wait, so the basic all weapon mastery even affects my magic attack power?” John asked in surprise. {Wait, now that I think about it, the notification when I completed the staff training just mentioned attack power, not physical attack power like with the crossbow, yet the basic all weapon mastery also states only attack power, so that means the staff's magical attack power bonus is included and I get a twenty-five percent bonus to both physical and magical attacks. That's awesome.}
