"You received a unique quest in the Starter Village, and not only that, it's a story quest as well and yet you're only level three?" Sarah asked in shock

"A story quest?" John asked in confusion.

After accepting the quest from Godon, John logged out to get some food and just happened to be cooking when Sarah stopped by for a visit, claiming that she had noticed him logging out.

As they were eating, he told her about how he completed all the different weapon training and gained the All Weapons Mastery passive, at which point she immediately called Adria and Rebecca to come over, and since Adria rushed over, Roberta tagged along since they were already together.

Now they all sat around the table, and John had just finished explaining to them everything that happened after he logged in, from completing the weapons training to getting a quest to visit the mayor, to receiving the unique quest.

"Story quests are not an official thing in Genesis; instead, it is a name given by the player base to quests that affect Genesis and all other players,“ Sarah explained. "They are named story quests because, in some way or another, they all seem to be connected and in the process of telling a story. Also, story quests are almost always unique quests because why would you need to do the same story twice if it has already affected Genesis?"

"I have never even heard of any unique quests in the starter villages, let alone a story quest," Adria stated.

"Maybe it's connected to the first person who acquires the all-weapons mastery passive; I mean, it can't be a coincidence that the trainer gave John this quest to see the mayor right after," Rebecca suggested.

"True, after all, he is the first player to achieve this, as he got the first in the world title as well as a world announcement," Roberta added.

“It could also be connected with his opportunity from Tia,” Sarah advised.

"Still, that's quite the reward even without the bonus: a twenty percent attack power buff for any weapon type; the only downside is it takes a week of hard work." Rebecca pointed out, causing them all to nod in agreement before Adria looked at John while saying, "Thank you, John. You have helped our race greatly; with this, our new players joining Genesis can gain a huge boost in the starter village."

“Assuming they're not too lazy,” Rebecca added while smirking.

"Don't mention it; after all, I gained the most out of this, but remember this won't stay secret forever; someone is bound to let it slip eventually," John replied.

"We are aware, which is why we need to consider what to do with this information carefully to get the most out of it while we can." Adria acknowledged while nodding.

"Still, John, your stats are crazy for only being level three. I knew they would increase like mad, but actually seeing them is a different matter." Sarah said with a happy smile.

“Any news on Mel’s progress?” John asked.

When John returned to Genesis, he was hidden in a small alley in the village because, after obtaining the quest and leaving the mayor's house, all the players outside swarmed him and started bombarding him with questions.

John, not wanting to reveal anything to them after how they ridiculed him before entering the house, made up some rubbish about collecting berries for the mayor's homemade wine. It was obvious that most of the players did not believe him, but he did not care and soon got out of there.

After logging in, he decided to tour around the village and ask the npc's if they needed help with anything, like Sajiko had advised him to do a week ago.

In the end, he only managed to get two more quests; other npc's seemed to have issues that they needed help with, but they would not offer him any quests because they claimed the task he had from the mayor was too important.

After completing the two quests, John decided to set out since he had no money to purchase any weapons or provisions. {I must be the first player ever to fail to make any gold in the first week; I should totally get a reward for that.}

As he left the village, he greeted the two brothers before heading off into the forest, as he decided he would go pay the killer bunnies a visit first since he now had a quest for their fur as well as still having the Briarthorn quest for Sajiko, meaning he could do both at the same time.

Along the way, his Detect Herbs skill repeatedly alerted him to nearby herbs, which he made sure to collect, assuming they didn’t divert him too far from his destination, and before long he reached the spot where he had seen the Briarthorn, and sure enough, a rabbit was there, hopping about collecting it.

"Inspect."

After reading the rabbit's stats and noticing it was still the same, he grinned and proceeded forward.

The rabbit soon noticed his presence and once again took on its crouching posture, ready to attack at any time.

John continued toward the rabbit and once he was within range, the rabbit sprang forward; however, John, wanting to test something, stood still and let the rabbit hit him.

{That's what I thought; my endurance is more than the rabbit's attack power now, so it did zero damage to me, unlike last time.

The rabbit landed on the ground undeterred before spinning around as it once again launched itself at John, who this time dodged to the side before striking out with his first.

After his first connected, the rabbit flew a short distance before landing a short distance away.

During the time John was looking over the rabbit's status, the rabbit ran back towards him before leaping at him again.

This time John tried for a parry to test it out.

{Hmm, can’t tell if I would still take any damage since it can’t hurt me regardless, but I definitely didn’t deal any damage. It feels like there should be more to parry.}

Once again, the rabbit came at him, and this time John dodged to the side while he brought his hand down on the rabbit's neck.

The rabbit fell to the ground and took a moment to shake off the critical hit that it just received, and in those few seconds John thought, {Hmm, I hit the neck, which in most living creatures is known as a weak spot. I wonder if hitting the weak spot automatically counts as a critical.}

When the rabbit recovered and once again launched an attack at him, John repeated the moves from before by dodging to the side before bringing his hand down on the rabbit's neck.

Just as John was about to bend down and attempt to harvest the rabbit fur, two more rabbits suddenly came bounding out of the bushes.

"Perfect," John said with a smile before combat commenced.
