“They fall under our domain,” Hel continued. “So while you are free to take the girl, since she would die if she remained. The boy's fate is up to us.”

“Why does this place harm her?” John asked, causing them all to look at him once again.

“Ohhh, this kid's got spunk,” Lucifer said with a smirk. “When was the last time someone dared to speak to us without being spoken to first?”

“Mind your manners, boy!” Hades snapped.

“My apologies,” John said while giving them a slight bow. “I’m not so used to dealing with royalty.”

“So it would seem,” Ereshkigal remarked, though she had a slight smile at the corner of her lips.

“To answer your question, the girl is suffering from the miasma found here in the underworld.” King Yamma explained. “Normally, those from the world of the living can’t handle it for more than a few minutes, but because she’s holding your hand, she is fine. And before you ask, you're fine because the Sheolarbiter badge is protecting you.”

John bowed again while saying, “I see, thank you for your guidance, King Yamma.” To which King Yamma nodded.

“The boy has been marked by a beast of the wild, which puts him under my domain,” Lord Ursa replied.

“I have?” John asked in surprise as he began to look over his body.

Mel tried not to chuckle at his reaction like Lucifer was doing and instead said, “I think he’s talking about when that bear breathed on you.”

“Ohh, that,” John nodded.

“That may be so, Lord Ursa, but he is in the underworld, which is our domain,” Osiris replied before asking in an amused tone. “Or did you plan to make him a druid?”

“Can humans even become druids?” Mel asked in surprise, causing them all to stare at her this time before quickly saying, “Sorry.”

“Alright, alright, everyone calm down,” Lucifer suddenly said as he hopped off his throne and vanished before suddenly appearing before John and Mel, who blushed as Lucifer added. “There is no point in discussing this right now since we can’t make him a Sheolarbiter even if we wanted to.”

“Lucifer,” Hades warned.

“What? It’s true,” Lucifer replied while turning to Hades. “What did you plan to do, keep him trapped here until Elrinira returned? She’s already been missing for a week.”

“Then what do you suggest?” Hel asked while frowning. “Surely not to just hand him over to Lord Ursa?”

“Of course not, I’m not one for giving up things that interest me,” Lucifer replied while winking at John. “I suggest we test the boy.”

“Test?” Ereshkigal repeated.

“Yes, test,” Lucifer replied before explaining. “Even if Elrinira was here, we would have a tough time deciding if we should admit a human into the Sheolarbiter’s or keep him as a pet. Therefore, I suggest we give him a task that will prove his capability to us.”

Hade’s face lit up in realisation as he said, “You mean to have the boy search the lands of the living for Elrinira?”

“That would make sense,” King Yamma said thoughtfully. “We have searched all of the underworld and the realms of the gods and found no trace of her; the only place left is the world of the living, which we can’t easily step into.”

Hel nodded and added, “We have been considering finding a suitable living soul to use in our search for Elrinira, so why not make use of the boy here?”

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“I see no problem with this,” Osiris remarked while Ereshkigal nodded in agreement.

“Then it’s decided,” Lucifer said happily while turning back to John and saying, “You hero, your test is to return to the lands of the living and search for Elrinira, Queen of all Succubi and one of the Seven Kings of the Underworld.”

[You have returned to Dawn Forest.]

As John opened his eyes, he found himself once more back in Dawn Forest at the location where he and Mel had fought Eler Cahro. Mel stood next to him, still holding his hand, and as he looked around, he saw that night had fallen, and Lord Ursa was still towering above them.

“I can’t believe you cursed them out like that,” Mel admonished as she removed her hand from his own and motioned towards Lord Ursa while saying. “I’ve never heard of the kings of the underworld before, but they have to be on the level of world bosses like this guy.”

{Inspect} John thought as curiosity got the better of him.

[Ursa Minor (World Boss)]

[Race: God]

[Class: ???]

[Level: ???]

[HP: ???]

[MP: ???]

“You're also a God?” John asked in surprise as he stared at Lord Ursa’s stats before adding, “Ursa Minor, as in the constellation?”

“You just peeked at his stats, didn’t you?” Mel asked with a sigh. “You’ve gotta stop doing that to those who are obviously more powerful than you.”

“The young lady is correct; many individuals would consider such a thing rude,” Lord Ursa said in amusement before adding. “Though yes, I am indeed the constellation Ursa Minor.”

“Thank you, Lord Ursa, for coming to help us,” Mel said with a slight bow, which John quickly followed.

“You have no need to thank me, young lady; both of you helped save the forest and animals within it from the corruption that demon would have released,” Lore Ursa replied.

“So that was some form of Demon then?” Mel asked.

Lord Ursa nodded and said, “It was but a mere fragment of one, but as you saw, it was still powerful enough to control that poor human. My advice to you is to do your best in searching for Elrinira so that you may become a Sheolarbiter.”

“What exactly is a Sheolarbiter?” John asked curiously; however, Lord Ursa shook his head and said, “I am forbidden from telling you secrets of the underworld, for it is outside my sphere of influence.”

“I understand,” John replied.

“So, while I can’t make you a druid, I can still reward you in some other way,” Lord Ursa declared, surprising the pair as John asked. “What did I do to deserve a reward from a God?”

“You helped the bear cub when you didn’t have to,” Lord Ursa replied. “I have been watching your exploits from that point and have seen how much dedication you put into your training, how you earned the trust of the cubs' parent who marked you, and how you even saved the forest and all the animals within it.”

“I didn’t do the last part alone,” John pointed out, causing Mel to sigh as she asked. “Can’t you just accept something for once without arguing about it?”

John scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment as Lore Ursa chuckled before staring at the pair for a few moments, after which he said, “Young lady, how about you return with me to the Seven Circles Enclave and become a Druid?”

“Me?” Mel asked in shock.

“Indeed, you have the potential after all,” Lord Ursa replied.

“So humans can become Druids?” John asked in surprise.

Lord Ursa stared at him for a moment before saying, “In a manner of speaking, though they need to possess a unique quality, something this young lady has.”

“What do you think?” John asked as he turned to Mel. “It would mean giving up being a sorcerer.”

“I know,” Mel nodded excitedly before saying. “The reason I wanted to be a sorcerer was that I believed it was impossible I could be a Druid; I’ve always liked animals.”

“Then it seems fate brought us together,” Lord Ursa replied before adding. “Let me reward our young friend here before we depart.”

“Of course, thank you for this opportunity.”

“If you wish to thank someone, you should thank our young friend here, for if he hadn’t helped the young cub, I never would have taken an interest in him, and through him you.”

Mel nodded and turned to John while saying, “I really do owe you big time; I should think of a way to repay you.”

“I will listen to your advice from before and accept,” John replied.

“Good,” Mel said happily before teasingly adding. “Make sure you continue to do so.”

“That depends on the advice,” John replied, causing them both to smile at each other for a moment.

{What’s this weird atmosphere? Why do I get along so well with him?} Mel thought to herself as Lord Ursa said, “Now, my young friend, I have two rewards for you.”
